Don't think in terms of a "green thumb". Rather... think of flowers like you would a pet... a boyfriend, or even yourself! Flowers are living things... like us, they need water, food, light during the day, and cover when it's cold. Neither myself, nor my other half, have any special "skills". We just have a love for being together outside, and enjoying time away from thinking about all the negative energy in life.
We purchase our flowers from an Amish Market, and also get our dirt from them. We save banana peels, and I save my coffee grounds... we use them as a boost when planting. Just be sure that the plants you have, aren't bothered by acidity (coffee grounds).
Besides a normal watering routine, we use a 20-20-20 granule fertilizer by Schultz once a week, to help keep the flowers looking gorgeous! It just takes time, and patience, and love!

@wesphilbin It really requires ample of time and love to take care of plants. And I admire you and your other half for that! Actually, I had plants before but I don't know what to do with them (I only know I need to water them lol) and they died 😢
I now have a cactus which I think is dying and I still don't know what to do.
