It's a #wednesdaywalk created by my dear friend @tattoodjay! Why not get out... and join in!
Hello, my friends! This is my attempt at participating in the awesome Wednesday Walk by our good friend Jay from #teamusa! I figured I would take a quick shot of my feet's (all of them lol) to give a "walking vibe". I had planned to create a **Thoughtful Daily Post/Wednesday Walk Series back on our legacy chain. But sadly, I never did... I could walk a lot better back in those days. Regardless... those of you that know me, know I do not give up! So I went for a quick walk out in the yard, and invite you to come along with me!
Straight out the door, as it were! Down the steps on the porch really... on my left, is our little "flower display" we have made. It is a continuously evolving labor of love we keep re-creating! But we like it because you can see it as soon as you head out to the yard... just past this is where we park our vehicles. We will hang up our Hummingbird Feeder soon, so that will be an added bonus to watch them as they fly in to feed on the feeder... love to watch them and their "furiously" beating wings! Makes me think of watching Tinker Bell with the grandkids. We actually used to have this arbor set up in our front yard. But it was getting too hard to mow around it. So we moved it to beside our garage. We have some *Morning Glories planted on both sides of the said arbor, in hopes that they will grow up on both sides (trellis up); I have always loved how plants and vines do that. Gives me the whole The Secret Garden vibe... moving along now to the sideyard!!
I know... kind of a boring photo of some kind of budding "thing" lol. But this is our "Double Pink Chiffon: 'Rose of Sharon'" bush we planted last year. We were concerned the winter's cold hit it... but I think it is going to end up being quite beautiful again! You might remember from one of my previous posts, that I shared a photo of the newest little flower bed design we made. I will have to try and go back and find the photo. But with any luck, it will all bloom out again; it will give me an excuse to write another post!
I tried taking a photo yesterday of these butterflies. They love our Creeping Flox, but the butterfly yesterday had obviously got in a fight with a bird or something... its wings were all tattered, and its body was half-eaten up... I know they are just insects but I can't help to feel sorrow for them when you see them all half-eaten up like that. It is indeed, the Circle of Life, but darn it... they are pretty! (Yes... I have used the word "pretty" in a post again lol). We had several different types of Creeping Flox out in our yard, but they got frost burned I think... will need to get some more! But to get a chance to catch a butterfly "not" flapping his wings is rare here... so I was happy to be able to do so... and share it with you all! Now, let's circle back around to the front yard again...
I can't tell you, how many times I have tried to buy something that comes even close to the smell of Lilacs. I have shared these with you before. but each time I go out in the yard and see them flowering, I am immediately taken back to swinging at my grandmother's house... to better days when things weren't so "crazy" in the world (or at least to my young naive mind anyway). We had hoped they would have been just a little bugger by now... we got the Lilacs around the same time as we purchased some Thornless Roses... which incidentally, became thorned roses lol. Nature does, what nature does... yes?
As is my usual habit, I like to help elevate the awesome of others... and so, I like to share a post from another HIVE'ian that has used the #wednesdaywalk TAG. I’m so envious of people having green thumb! The flowers look so beautiful! Wish I have green thumb too so when I open the balcony of my apartment, I would also see pretty flowers.

Don't think in terms of a "green thumb". Rather... think of flowers like you would a pet... a boyfriend, or even yourself! Flowers are living things... like us, they need water, food, light during the day, and cover when it's cold. Neither myself, nor my other half, have any special "skills". We just have a love for being together outside, and enjoying time away from thinking about all the negative energy in life.
We purchase our flowers from an Amish Market, and also get our dirt from them. We save banana peels, and I save my coffee grounds... we use them as a boost when planting. Just be sure that the plants you have, aren't bothered by acidity (coffee grounds).
Besides a normal watering routine, we use a 20-20-20 granule fertilizer by Schultz once a week, to help keep the flowers looking gorgeous! It just takes time, and patience, and love!
Just give a shout-out in The Terminal sometime! You'd be surprised how many people would love to chat about plants. Also... thank you for taking the time to stop by, and leave a comment!

@wesphilbin It really requires ample of time and love to take care of plants. And I admire you and your other half for that! Actually, I had plants before but I don't know what to do with them (I only know I need to water them lol) and they died 😢
I now have a cactus which I think is dying and I still don't know what to do.

What a wonderful thing to say! And here I thought you'd mention cobwebs haha! I can remember when I was younger... taking a magnifying glass, and using the sun to crispy some ants. They were those nasty red ones,that really mess you up when they bite/sting you!
But then... I remember my grandfather saying... "Grandson... how would you feel, if a giant being was standing over you, and burning you and your family up!". Left an impression on me... obviously.

ha ha ha ;-) .... Forget the cobwebs... I, too, remember doing something similar in our backyards..... I remember Dad working as an engineer for a national TV operator and some of the signal monitors possessed a greenish colored magnifying screen (It was the late 70's, everything was weird I guess)..... That screen was like a giant magnifying glass!.... I used it to execute "laser attacks" on the ant hills and on dry grasses... But one day I was about to set the whole yard on fire.... My father gently corrected me (he was a gentle and almost childish man) ... but a few minutes later, my Mother appeared with her favorite belt in her hand, ready to perform her own "laser attack" I guess, against the little arsonist boy... ha ha ha ha.... it only remains to say that I ran like an athlete that day! :-) .... I send you greetings and good wishes....

I do... yes. It's not quite as easy, for things like Copper Heads, or Brown Recluse. Especially for ticks and mosquitoes... but I try to stay in line with the fact that all things are connected. I thank you for your kind words and visit; before my MS decided to really set in, we were able to keep our property cleaner. But not easy for my other half, that suffers from her own health issues... RMSF as well as both of us being contaminated with TCE or Trichloroethylene, at a prior employer.
We've got close to 3 acres, but we do what we can... you know. Appreciate you taking the time to stop by, and leave a comment!

Hello there! I've not heard from you, in quite some time! Thank you for the kind words! Nothing fancy on the photos really. I use the "Pro Mode" setting on my Samsung Galaxy S9. Then either use the Snapseed App on mobile, or LunaPic on laptop. Keep in mind, my phone came out in 2018 lol...
For every photo I use in a post... at least five more were taken. Then I choose the best one's and delete the other's.
