When starting your generator but find it difficult to respond, the following measure need to be checked.
For those with Gx2900 or Tg2700, or other heavy generators,

First thing you need to do is to check your oil level if fully guaged.
*If not, the oil alert could stop the generator from responding.
[At times the oil alert could be funny, even if the oil is guaged, if faulty still make the generator no to start]. You need to detach the alert wire.

Most times, plug is responsible for hard/no starting of generator.
Remove and clean properly and make sure the tip bend head do no touch the pointed head as shown the picture above.
Possibly, get it replaced with new one.

*Note.. make sure you check and be sure that there's current that passes through the starting coil. The picture of a starting coil Gx2900 is shown below. Current must flow, visibly bright.

Starting coil is the wire that comes down to the plug head of any generator. When the plug is remove, get it close to the unpainted body of the generator, as you pull, see if Sparks actually flow well if not, change it. Note: dirt from the IG coil (magnet) could be responsible especially if the magnetic surface is covered with dust. You need clean it well

From this, severally things need to be checked....
a. Fuel; from this, you need to check whether your petrol flows well right from the tap down to the carburetor.

b. Check your tap and make sure no dirt is blocking the freeflow of petroleum or gas as the case may be.

c. Overflow; this could be as a result of carburetor over-flow due to dirt, here, you need your generator to be at high choke, pull it severally as it respond. (Don't take it to low choke and Ensure Your Tap Is Locked). Another thing you should do is to loose the bottom knot down the carburetor and allow petrol pour out; Don't Forget To Close The Tap.
