The climb to Lovers’ Leap was steep for the star-crossed couple, their union forbidden by feuding clans. At the cliff’s edge they laid some of their clothing, the sea raging below. Then hand in hand, they jumped—straight onto the tandem bicycle they’d hidden earlier and pedalled off into the sunset.

Ah, a happy ending. And an image I can't unsee of a naked couple riding a bicycle. I know you said 'some' clothing but I imagined that was just hats.
😆 I originally wrote their clothing but I bloody well knew someone would picture them naked so I had to somehow fit in the two words some of. Dammit! Hours of my life...wasted!
