The signal never came and without it there was no way of knowing what would greet them on the other side. It would be absolutely insane to proceed now. But they were starving and growing weaker by the day. Out of options, they left anyway.

Thanks! The arms around the tree just add to the eerie feel of the image so I thought that matched the theme well. As to whether or not they made it to their destination, we can only hope...
