Chapter XI Leather satchel
Umbrella
After leaving work Angeline observed that an unexpected storm was approaching, distracted first with her visit to the doctor and then occupied up on her first day of work, she had not paid attention to the latest meteorological announcements that had been given in the newscast of television, since the rain began, not being familiarized yet to the city, she didn´t expect those clouds to announce anything out of the ordinary.
On the way back to her house, the petite rain began, which suddenly turned into a water tower that began to flood the street and completely soaked it, rushing to get to the hotel, where she was at the reception at that time. his friend Andrew was coming. He when seeing her, said:
"Angeline, you look like a soaked chicken, be careful not to catch a flu"
She, compromised by his words, said:
"Hello Andrew, the storm took me by surprise, I had no umbrella to protect me, ha ha ha"

Good atmosphere
The days passed quickly, and Mindy with her house prepared to receive her half-sister Angeline, called to invite her to her house on Saturday since for both of them it was a day off from work. Angeline, now busy at her work in the nursing home, had forgotten a little about the commitment that she had agreed with her father when she left the island, so when she received the call, she was glad that she could finally unravel the hidden story of his father. Answering, she said to Mindy:
"Mindy, good, until now I had patiently waited for you to have everything ready, I will be there"
When the agreed day arrived, early in the morning Angeline, went down to breakfast at the hotel restaurant, with surprise saw that Andrew was having breakfast there, who invited her to share the table. As she sat down, he immediately realized that she looked different, he noticed her more animated, so he asked her:
"Angeline, I'm glad you're in such a good mood. Until now, I haven't seen you so happy. What is your secret?"
She, without bothering about his question, told him:
"It turns out that today I will have a very meaningful interview for me, I think it will determine my future."
He said to her:
"You keep talking in keys, even for me it is difficult to decipher what you think, ha ha ha"
So, then with a good atmosphere of friendship they finished breakfast and said goodbye until next time.
Influential people
Mindy, excitedly waiting for her sister, noticed that she had been delayed so she began to worry, since she supposed that she could not find the home address that she had indicated, she called the mobile phone several times but she did not answer .
Already in the middle of the morning the doorbell rang for her house, Angeline was standing with her youthful air and with a smile on her face, they hugged each other and she said:
"Mindy, it took me a while to get here since I missed the subway station where I had to get off and then at the next station I had to wait for the next train that would drop me off near your house"
Angeline replied:
"Don't worry, they are tricks of the trade, it happened to me the first time I came here to rent this house, ha ha ha"
Once inside they went to the living room, Mindy invited Angeline a coffee and they sat down to talk for a while. Angeline told her about her exploits at work and how sympathetic her friend Andrew was, who as a novelty works for the Mayor to unravel the history of the first inhabitants of the city.
Hearing this, Mindy was surprised that her sister was already relating to influential people in the city, when she had never shared with any personality in the years she has live there. Laughing he said:
"I think it has been good for you to leave the island, i can see that you are progressing"
When the conversation was over, realizing that it was already lunchtime, they went to sit at the dining room table.

The moment of lunch was special, both were pensive thinking that at that moment in some way or another they were united by love for their father. The menu that Mindy had prepared for the occasion consisted of a light meal based on roast chicken, salad and natural juice, for dessert was served a piece of cake and a cup of black coffee. Angeline when tasting the food congratulated her sister saying:
"Sister, had no ideas that you were going to do so fine the food"
She answered:
"I had to work hard to cater to a personality like you."
That said, and in a good environment of sisters, they could no longer continue to detour what they had planned to do that day. Mindy, being the owner of the house, took the initiative to invite her sister to see the whole house. He was showing him each of the rooms until he reached the room that had been his father's, she said before opening the door:
"Well, here is our father's room, everything is the same as he left it"
Angeline, shocked to know the place, was carefully observing each of the things that remained there. One of them was the wheelchair that he used in the last days and the cane. Her imagination took her to the island where until he said goodbye to her, he had been a strong and fighting man.
The bed remained with the quilt with marine motifs, next to it on a small table there was an ornamental sailing ship and a compass with which one could orient oneself. On the wall a world map with all the continents indicated the maritime routes that he had traveled marked with a red pencil, in addition the map indicated the countries in which he had made a stop. Angeline was amazed that everything had an air that her father's room had on the island, at that moment I value her absence and without being able to contain the emotion she began to cry uncontrollably.
Then Mindy, touching her shoulder said:
"Angeline, you have to be strong, you must not bend, we still have to start checking her closet, there she has all the other things"
Angeline exclaimed:
"Excuse me, it is that everything here is so familiar to me and on top of that my father is not with us, don't worry, it was just a passing feeling"
With that said, Mindy proceeded to open the closet, her shirts, pants, and jackets neatly placed there. His officer's outfit with his decorations. At the top was also the cap that he used for his tasks at sea. A black leather satchel remained silent waiting for its owner, to one side was also a box with a lock.
Both with their hearts beat strongly, from the emotion they felt, Angeline asked Mindy to them down to the kitchen to have a glass of water to rest for a while and recover from the moment of mixed emotions that they was going through.
