We will rise
And shine so bright
That the stars go blind

We floated, drifted, not caring where we were, only that we were.
It was dead-calm, I knew we'd not drift far, so I remained in place too comfortable to move, too content. She was beside me and beside her is where I wanted to be.
It was raining and we laid on the netting-trampoline between the twin-hulls naked but for rain drops that collected and pooled upon our bodies. It was cool, not cold. Refreshing.
We lay on our backs faces to the dark sky watching streaks of rain fall, their gentle touch not unlike that of our fingers upon the other only moments before. A symphony of natural sounds cocooned us: Lapping waves upon the hull, rain on the ocean, rolling thunder to the west, the rain on our naked bodies...It felt pure and peaceful. It felt primal. I felt lost, castaway; but never more found.
Moments before we were intertwined, two made one. The thought pulled my mouth into a small crooked smirk and involuntarily my body responded, my hand moved the mere inches that separated us to touch her skin lightly. I traced her contours, explored her. She felt Cool. Wet. Alive. Mine.
She responded.
Her head fell to the left and I looked right. She smiled slightly eyes half closed in pleasure. They were deep and clear, even in dark of night they shone; like stars in the vastness of space. They shone. For me, and I was hers in that moment and always. I was hopelessly lost, but exactly where I needed to be.
There were no words. Just that look; it said everything including there's nothing to say, just be here with me. And I was.
I sat up turned slightly and leaned on an elbow appreciating at the way water beaded on her skin, pooled in the depressions and ran off other parts in rivulets. She knew I watched her and moved slightly arranging herself in the most pleasing way and I marvelled at the fortunate circumstances that led me to be here. With her. Castaway.
Her hand traced her body from her hip to abdomen, stomach, ribs and higher, slowly and deliberately, her head tilted back slightly with the pleasure of her own touch...And then she reached for me.
I responded.
Some indefinite time later we lay still once more, bodies relaxed, sated. The rain had stopped and the skies cleared...A million stars glowed above us, their light causing rain drops to glisten upon her skin with an inner light, her lithe body seemingly covered in thousands of tiny diamonds each one shining in a thousand directions. It was beautiful. She was beautiful. The moment was beautiful.
I smiled remembering her words that morning; I'll cross your line from time to time.
I'd responded in kind.
[A fiction]
This short fictional piece was inspired by a track I came across not too long ago. You can listen to it by following the link below. Put your ear pods in, turn it up and close your eyes.
We could meet in the sky
You go your way
I'll cross your line
From time to time

@galenkp how many people keep telling you that you got to write a book?!
You really should seriously consider it!
Great song to inspire you too:)
Knuckleheads are slow at times Andy. I actually wrote one in 2000. 440,000+ words. No one has read it but me and my mum and she's gone so...Just me. Maybe I'll revisit it at some stage; my 51+ year brain/heart/soul might write it differently than my 30 year old one.
The song is a moving piece of music and I like the story it tells, the passion, pain and longing. Good song indeed.
Wow, that's fantastic! I'm sorry that you're the only one left that has read it, but maybe reading it again now would be a good idea, decide if you'd like to add to it. If it's anything like your writing now, I'm sure that people would like to read it.
That song is painfully beautiful and emotive. It supports your writing really nicely.
Have a great day Galen.
There's a lot of me in that book...It would be very uncomfortable to reveal it. Maybe there'll be a time and place though.
Have a great day too A.
And this piece is beautiful, beautifully vivid. I love it. You have a way with words and it's swooning! 😊
Aww, thanks so much Kemmy, I really appreciate you taking a read and commenting as well. You're se kind.
It seems that I was reading a romance novel. Maybe if you would write and publish a romance novel, you could sell a million copies.
Hey Kellyane, thank you kindly for your lovely comment and for taking the time to read my post. It is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure if I'm good enough a writer to get anything published. I wouldn't even go as far as calling myself a writer. Just a man, who writes.
I admire you for being so humble.
I work hard at being humble and kind; it pays dividends. Thank you for saying so.
Very beautiful fiction, congratulations! Keep up the good work! :)
Thank you, I appreciate your comment, and of course, for you taking the time to read.
