Not making wood from the fallen tree is an expression that we often hear, and refers to not taking advantage of the situation of someone who has had a "stumble", who has failed in something or who has done badly and is in a situation of pain, grief or sorrow.

There are people who take satisfaction in the grief of others, who take pleasure in "trashing" someone who is going through a difficult element whether it be family, sentimental or economic. For various reasons, people seem to rejoice in the misfortune of others and there are those who not only enjoy this, but seek to intensify the pain.

It is possible that there are people who in our judgment are deserving of the evil that suffers at a certain moment, however, in our humanity we must show empathy, knowing that we are not exempt from a similar situation, that we are in this life prone to any failure, fall or misfortune.

The difficult situation that a person lives today, may be our situation tomorrow and it is better to show solidarity, to help alleviate the pain because at the moment you go through a difficult moment you may receive the same from someone else, even if it is not from the same person you helped, your help may come from another source, but in return for what you gave one day.

Not in vain the Bible says that whatever a man sows he will also reap, so we must be sure to sow good seed in this world so that when the day of our harvest comes our fruits will not be bitter.

For this reason today I invite you to reflect on the "seed" that you are planting today, what is it that you are sowing and delivering to your fellow men. Not to rejoice for the misfortune of others is a good sowing option, but helping those who have fallen into misfortune can give you a better harvest.

Let me know what you think!
