FUERA DEL AUTO / OUT OF THE CAR

Tomaron la autopista cuando caía la noche, poco a poco aumentaron velocidad. Ella recostó su cabeza de la ventana, veía pasar las luces de los postes. Parecían un desfile de luces. Se estaba quedando dormida cuando sintió las imperiosas ganas de orinar. Pero, pensaba que si le decía a su papá que parara de seguro un gran regaño recibiría, porque justa antes de salir de casa de la tía, el pregunto si había ido al baño. Trato de no pensar en ello, pero cada vez que contaba 10 postes de luz volvían las ganas. Aguantó, pero no pudo. Hasta que se armó de valor y le pidió a su padre: ¡papá tienes que parar para orinar fuera del auto! El padre notó el nerviosismo de su voz y paró, sin decirle nada. Ella salió a toda prisa, y lo logro orinar fuera del auto, por poco.

They took the highway when night fell, little by little they increased speed. She leaned her head from the window, watched the pole lights go by. They looked like a parade of lights. She was falling asleep when she felt the overwhelming urge to urinate. But, he thought that if he told his dad to stop he would get a big scolding for sure, because just before leaving his aunt's house, he asked if he had gone to the bathroom. I try not to think about it, but every time I counted 10 light poles the desire returned. He endured, but could not. Until he plucked up his courage and asked his father: Dad you have to stop to urinate out of the car! The father noticed the nervousness in her voice and stopped, without saying anything. She hurried out, and I managed to pee out of the car, just barely.
