Writing help

A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link
Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.
A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Something is wrong with my shepherd

When I was a little kid growing up on a hillbilly farm, chores kept me well entertained every day. Those were busy times. My life brightened up a lot when dad gave me my first puppy. He'd order the sheep around after being trained. Rex and I were best friends. Not a lot of folk around, or dogs for that matter, so I guess neither of us had much of a choice. We were so close. But this empathy outgrew our friendship.

He would never bark at people he didn't know. Despite his father being so good at guarding our home, Rex was terrible at it. He'd just walk towards them, waggling his tail. But that's not the worst part. The sheep! He would not lead them. It cost us the farm. That's why I'm writing about it instead of maintaining the family business. He would actually mingle, as if he's part of the herd. I guess he grew tired of being a dog. Must have thought the life of a sheep was that much easier.
