James, an archaeologist, stayed overnight at the house of Merlin the wizard.
Merlin prepared a soup of meat and vegetables for dinner.
Merlin put the soup in a bowl and gave it to James.
"Try this soup," he said.
"Thank you, sir. I will eat it."
But the soup tasted so-so. James took a pepper from the bag he carried for emergencies.
out of his emergency bag, sprinkled some pepper on the soup, and ate it, and it was delicious.
The wizard Merlin saw James sprinkle something on the soup and eat it, and it was delicious.
He noticed that it smelled delicious.
Curious, Merlin asked.
"Can I sprinkle something on my soup and try it too?"
"Oh yes. Why don't you sprinkle it on and try it? It's called black pepper." James replied.
The wizard Merlin tasted the pepper-sprinkled soup and was impressed.
"Hrumph...mmm. That's really good."
James gave the pepper shaker to Merlin as a gift.
"Can you give me something so precious?" said the wizard Merlin.
"I don't mind," said James, "you let me stay with you for the night, and I'll give you this as a thank you gift."
James, the archaeologist, wanted to show his gratitude.
He was worried about how he was going to get back to Earth.
And so another night in a new world passed.
The wizard Merlin told him that there were three great continents, the westernmost of which was the Frankish Empire.
The land of the Kingdom of Naples, ruled by Lord Garcia,
the town of Padishah.
James decided to stay here for the time being, and get used to the new world.
고고학자 제임스는 마법사 멀린의 집에서 하룻 밤 묵게 되었습니다.
마법사 멀린은 저녁으로 고기와 야채로 만든 스프를 준비했습니다.
마법사 멀린은 스프를 그릇에 담아 제임스에게 주었습니다.
"이 스프를 먹어보게나"
"감사합니다. 잘 먹겠습니다"
하지만 스프는 맛이 그저 그랬습니다. 제임스는 비상용으로 가지고 다니는 가방에서
후추를 꺼내어 스프에 후추를 뿌려주고 먹어보니 맛있었습니다.
마법사 멀린은 제임스가 스프에 뭔가를 뿌리고 맛있게 먹는 모습을 보았습니다.
그리고 맛있는 향이 나는 것을 느꼈습니다.
호기심에 마법사 멀린은 물었습니다.
"스프에 뿌린 것을 나도 뿌려 먹어 볼 수 있나?"
"아 네. 한 번 뿌려서 먹어보시겠어요 이것은 후추라고 합니다." 제임스가 대답합니다.
마법사 멀린은 후추를 뿌린 스프를 먹고 감탄을 하였습니다.
"후루룩...음. 정말 맛있군"
제임스는 후추 통을 마법사 멀린에게 선물로 주었습니다.
마법사 멀린은 "이렇게 귀한 걸 나한테 줘도 돼나?" 말했습니다.
"저는 괜찮습니다.하룻밤 묵게 해주셨는데 감사의 선물로 드리겠습니다."
고고학자 제임스는 감사한 마음을 표혔하고 싶었던 것이었습니다.
어떻게 지구로 돌아갈 수 있을 까 걱정이 되었지만
이렇게 새로운 세계에서의 하룻 밤이 지나고 있습니다.
마법사 멀린은 이곳은 큰 세개의 대륙이 있는데 그 중 서쪽에 위치한 프랑크 제국이며
그중에 가르시아 영주가 다스리는 나폴리 왕국 땅이며,
파디샤 마을이라고 알려주었습니다.
제임스는 당분간은 이곳에 머물며 새로운 세계에 적응하기로 마음 먹었습니다.
