Morning Walk
One of the advantages of coming west is that you get up early in the morning. San Francisco is 2 hours behind Houston, so getting up at 6 am was easy! I had a short meeting late morning, so before that I wanted to do a bit of a walk up the Telegraph Hill to Coit Tower. Telegraph Hill is my absolute favorite neighborhood in San Francisco. Since I am staying at Montgomery St. in the Financial district, it is a straight northbound walk to Coit Tower.
Here I am looking south down the Montgomery St. from Transamerica View Point.

This is one of my favorite view of the city. It is much less popular that several others but I like it. This morning the classic San Francisco fog made it especially mystical as city was yet to wake up to a Saturday morning.
These are the Montgomery Street Steps. I took them slow. There wasn’t a single soul this early in the morning.
Few more steps above you take a left and look up and it is the Filbert Steps leading up to the Coit Tower. If there is anywhere in the world that I want to live, if money and taxes are not an option, that would be here!
That house on the right with pink Bougainvillea, sign me up please! :)
Next bit is through nicely paved path through dense vegetation that is almost always wet due to the constant moisture from the pacific.
Then finally you arrive at the Coit Tower after quite a bit of huffing and puffing! Just take it slow and you will be alright. It was quite cold and windy there. Mark Twain rightly said:
”The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco,"
It was 57F this AM. Can you believe that?! I can’t!
This is the north side. It has a mid sized parking lot and a small coffee shop, which was closed this early. I don’t know when it opens.
On clear days the views are stunning into the San Francisco Bay, but I didn’t mind the clouds at all. I have seen it clear more often, this mist was incredible!
Then I headed west as I took a different road down the Greenwich St.
The neighborhood is stunningly pretty here!
You can see Coit Tower peaking behind the homes. Who wouldn’t want to live here?
I love that first photo... It seems so iconically San Francisco with the downhill view.
It is one of the famous city shots. Like this when the sky is clear.

Stunning. That mix is old and new.
So, that's what you meant with the fog. Sometimes when I go hiking here those things happen. All clear when down. Then you walk up, get into a cloud, stay in the moist cold for a while, until you're over it. And then there's an amazing view.
Thanks for sharing SF with us!
I have a lot more San Francisco coming up soon. I love it out here.
I just saw the next post already :-D I've put Australia on my bucket list due to HIVE already, maybe SF will follow :-D
Yeah, due to the San Francisco Bay channel and the cold Pacific Ocean currents the clouds are typically at 100 ft (30m) or lower.
San Francisco is nice, but it makes Seattle look cheap when it comes to the house prices...
Ha ha! Believe me, I know what you mean! :)
I always forget just how far north San Francisco actually is and how the temperature can actually be quite mild. I just think California and I think hot most of the time. I've been to that city once for work, but it was a very short time as we were heading out to Tracy, CA where Dow had just acquired a company.
Here, just for you! :)
Haha, thanks! Dang, $10 for a hoodie is a hell of a deal. They run like $60 to $100 here in Michigan depending on what you get.
Beautiful photos, I've been to San Francisco many times but have not taken that walk to Coit Tower before.
It's interesting how the weather in San Francisco always seems the same no matter what time of year you visit.
Oh I try to go there every time I come here, it's almost a ritual :)
Beautiful pics especially the stairs. I thought those are clouds in the first image. Fogs that I saw before are usually at street level.
It is cloud. Cloud and fog are synonymous in San Francisco and it is impossible to distinguish between them in that city.
It's a sight to see indeed. I've never seen clouds that low that they're touching buildings.
Oh!
How about now?
Do you remember the movie Vertigo?
That was a very beautiful view in the morning. It's peaceful and relaxing, perfect for a morning walk or jog.
It is, many people do an uphill run there.

Nice! A walk to Coit Tower sounds like a great start to the day. 🐎 Enjoy SF! ☀️
Thank you. I am having a great time!
During your morning walk from Telegraph hill to Coit tower, you could see some of the most interesting places. The house with the pink bougainvillea on the south side, surrounded by nature, was the place that attract me the most.
Thank you for the compliment Suresh. I just checked your account. Your KE ratio is 186. Would you consider powering up some hive, that will help you with your visibility! Someone with a rep of 79 and KE of 186 is bad visibility.
Thanks Mr. @azircon your guidance. That would be helpful for me and I'll do the needful within one month after resolved my personal problems.
The picture with the fog looks really cool!
A nice walk in the morning is a great way to start the day, especially on working trips or on holiday.
Also, good for your health! :D
Its refreshing to have a walk in this kind of view.I'd really like to walk every day if this is my view.
Perfect morning walk 💖 The fog and empty streets make your photos feel so serene 🙌 I can completely see why you'd want to live in that neighborhood...it's absolutely gorgeous! 💕 Thanks for the tour! 🙌
Woooeeew what a beautiful view on the way to Telegraph Hill and up to Coit Tower! The city skyline, the charm of the streets, and the atmosphere are all so vibrant and full of life it’s truly giving that magical vibe.Thank you for taking us along on this little tour of yours even if it’s only through a picture. I can still feel the beauty and energy of the place and I love it so muchhhh
