Hello Hive community, wandering around the city for one reason or another, I end up walking through Plaza Juan Pedro Fabini or Entrevero as it is popularly known because of the statue in its center, it is a point that yes or if you are going to transit if you are in the center of Montevideo, either to rest after a shopping marathon, to meet someone or to see how tango invades the hearts of Uruguayans every weekend, and that is that people of all ages they meet in the afternoons to dance this sensual musical tune.

Hola comunidad Hive, dando vueltas por la ciudad siempre por uno u otro motivo termino paseando por la plaza Juan Pedro Fabini o Entrevero como se le conoce popularmente por la estatua que tiene en su centro, es que es un punto que si o si vas a transitar si estas en el centro de Montevideo, ya sea para descansar después de un maratón de compras, para encontrarte con alguien o para ver como el tango invade los corazones de los uruguayos todos los fines de semana, y es que personas de todas las dedades se reunen en las tardes a bailar esta sensual tonada musical.
It is a place that I love for all the details and the art that you can appreciate, such as the majestic statue by José Belloni that evokes the struggles that forged Uruguay in its beginnings, or all the architectural art that you can appreciate in the buildings that surround the Plaza. Its green areas are harmonized with the roads and it has a restaurant that is not out of tune with the environment.
Es un lugar que me encanta por todos detalles y el arte que puedes apreciar, como la majestuosa estatua obra de José Belloni que evoca las luchas que forjaron al Uruguay en sus inicios, o todo el arte arquitectónico que puedes apreciar en los edificios que rodean la plaza. Sus areas verdes están armonizadas con las caminerias y cuenta con un restaurant que no desentona con el ambiente.
He says that a diverse vegetation which favors bird watching, it is common to be seated and receive the visit of these feathered friends. Despite being in the center of the city and not being too big, it exudes a calm that relaxes and is ideal for a quick break from the office or a coffee to meditate on the issues of the day.
Cuenta que una vegetación diversa lo cual favorece el avistamiento de aves, es habitual estar sentado y recibir la visita de estos amigos emplumados. A pesar de encontrarse en plano centro de la ciudad y de no ser demasiado grande, en ella se respira una tranquilidad que relaja y es ideal para un descanso rápido de la oficina o un café para meditar sobre los asuntos del día.
Getting more technical, the square was inaugurated in 1964 and is the work of the architect Emilio Massobrio, the iconic statue of Entrevero was inaugurated in 1967 two years after the death of its author. The entire project was designed to fill the space that remained between the extension of Av. Libertador and Av. 18 de Julio, at the time it received criticism for its "lack of majesty" but in my opinion they could not make a better decision.
Poniéndonos mas técnicos la plaza fue inaugurada en 1964 y es obra del arquitecto Emilio Massobrio, la icónica estatua del Entrevero se inauguro en 1967 dos años después de la muerte se su autor. Todo el proyecto se ideo con para rellenar el espacio que quedaba entre la prolongación de la Av. Libertador y la Av. 18 de Julio, en su momento recibió criticas por su "falta de majestuosidad" pero en mi opinión mejor decisión no pudieron tomar.
This beautiful square, being a central point and an ideal meeting place, welcomes dance and music groups that meet recurrently to share and enjoy, you can also find artisans and street vendors, my favorites are Garrapiñada, which is peanuts with caramel and vanilla. You have multiple culinary options around the square, from McDonald's to more local places that will prepare the most typical dishes of Uruguayan cuisine.
Este Hermosa plaza al ser un punto céntrico y un lugar de encuentro ideal, da acogida a grupos de baile y música que se reúnen recurrentemente a compartir y disfrutar, también puedes encontrar artesanos y vendedores ambulantes, mis favoritos son los de Garrapiñada que es maní con caramelo y vainilla. Tienes multiples opciones culinarias a los alrededores de la plaza, desde McDonald's hasta locales mas autóctonos que te prepararan los platos mas típicos de la gastronomía uruguaya.
A curious fact is that under the square we find the SUBTE exhibition center, which is a cultural space where contemporary art is disseminated and we can access it from Monday to Saturday from 12 noon to 8 at night.

I hope you liked the post, I left out a lot of technical information since I wanted to make my opinion known more than data on dates and dimensions that do not contribute much to how a place feels. Until a new post, I say goodbye.
Un dato curioso es que bajo la plaza econtramos el centro de exposiciones SUBTE, el cual es un espacio cultural donde se difunde el arte contemporaneo y podemos accedeer de lunes a sabado de 12 del mediodia a 8 de la noche.
Si algún día visitan Montevideo pongan en su lista de destinos esta plaza y si quieren conocer mi apreciación de algún lugar de la ciudad, escriban un comentario y subiré un post al respecto.
