Today, I have the pleasure of inviting you to discover the restaurant Plan H in Old Havana, Cuba 🇨🇺. A true gastronomic treasure in the historic center with a cozy atmosphere and exceptional customer service. Furthermore, I will introduce you to a unique exhibition by the daughter of artist Raúl Corrales, showcasing her photographic journey.

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a conocer el restaurante Plan H en La Habana Vieja, Cuba 🇨🇺. Un verdadero tesoro gastronómico en el casco histórico con un ambiente acogedor y una atención al cliente excepcional. Además les presentaré una exposición única de la hija del artista Raúl Corrales y su trayectoria fotográfica.
Espero les gusten los cuadros de sus fotos y disfruten de los diseños modernos del restaurante tailandés. ¡Acompáñame en este maravilloso recorrido 😉!
The PlanH restaurant sanctuary, the most exclusive in Old Havana, is located at #308 Paseo del Prado, facing the Park of the Lions, between Ánimas and Virtudes streets. It features on-street parking with free parking, and is open for lunch and dinner until late. It accepts different payment methods, including national currency for Cubans and foreign Visa and Mastercard for tourists.
Its entrance is artistically impressive, featuring a front display with a small Christmas tree made from wine bottles and a hashtag to represent the restaurant on social media.
El santuario restaurante PlanH más exclusivo de La Habana Vieja, se encuentra ubicado en Paseo del Prado #308 frente al parque de los leones e/ Ánimas y Virtudes. Contiene aparcamiento en la calle con estacionamiento gratuito, está abierto para comidas y cenas hasta tarde con diferentes tipos de pagos tanto moneda nacional para los cubanos o tarjetas extranjeras Visa, Mastercard para turistas.
Su entrada es impresionante artísticamente, al estar desarrollado su frente con un arbolito navideño de botellas con vinos y un hashtag para representar el restaurante en las redes sociales.
As you can see, the banner shows the establishment's regular hours from 8:30 AM to 11 PM, Tuesday through Sunday, featuring chef's suggestions, breakfasts, tapas, starters, beverages, cocktails, drinks, and a wine shop.
If you look closely, the wine tree contains different types of Bacchus's beverages, such as sparkling wines, reds, rosés, and whites from regions like Spain, Chile, France, Portugal, Cuba, Italy, and others, famous for their spectacular flavor.
Como pueden ver la pancarta muestra el horario habitual de la instalación desde 8:30 am a 11 pm de Martes a Domingo, con sugerencias del chefs, desayunos, tapas, entrantes, bebidas, cócteles, tragos y tienda de Vinos.
El árbol de Vino si pueden observar de cerca contiene diferentes tipos bebidas de Baco como espumosos, tinto, rosado y blanco de regiones como España, Chile, Francia, Portugal, Cuba, Italia entre otros famosos por su sabor espectacular.

The wine shop, or Oasis, displays a collection of over 240 labels from 12 countries, from both the Old and New Worlds. Personally, I love Spanish wine for its harmony of contrasts and the intensity of its flavors.
This area is for connoisseurs seeking quality wines with specialized advice, as well as for those who are venturing into this fascinating world to discover, enjoy, and find wines that suit their palate to take home or enjoy during dinner.
La tienda de Vino o Oasis exhiben una colección de más de 240 etiquetas de 12 países, del Viejo y Nuevo Mundo. A mí en lo personal me encanta el español por su armonía de contrastes y la intensidad de sabores.
Esta zona es para los conocedores que buscan vinos de calidad con asesoramiento especializado, y la de quienes se adentran en este fascinante mundo para descubrir, disfrutar y encontrar vinos acordes a su paladar para llevar al hogar o disfrutar mediante la cena.
The marketing of the place is spectacular, with its beautiful wooden bar and unique glassware. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, complemented by professional and attentive service that caters to everything you want to know, learn, and discover about PlanH.
The extensive wine selection allows you to enjoy perfect pairings, with tastings guided by experts.
El marketing del lugar es espectacular, su barra en madera preciosa y cristalerías únicas. El ambiente es acogedor y moderno, complementado por un servicio profesional y atento a todo lo que deseas saber, aprender y conocer del PlanH.
La extensa selección de vinos permite disfrutar de maridajes perfectos, con catas guiadas por expertos.
To enjoy a meal, we chose a quiet spot near the television, which was showing everything from images of the restaurant's events to world-renowned wines famous for their exquisiteness. The prices were reasonable for the elegant atmosphere and the attention to detail.
The Thai restaurant Mithai finds, within PlanH's spaces, an environment where its aromas and flavors are enhanced by the wide selection of wines from the wine cellar.
Para disfrutar de una comida, escogimos un lugar tranquilo cerca del televisión, que mostraba desde sus imágenes con eventos del restaurante hasta vinos bien famosos y reconocidos mundialmente por su exquisitez. Los precios eran razonables para el ambiente elegante y la atención al detalle.
El restaurante tailandés Mithai encuentra en los espacios de PlanH un entorno donde sus aromas y sabores se potencian con la amplia selección de vinos de la enoteca.
The rear section is reserved for private events, tastings, weddings, and live music, offering an intimate setting in a patio that muffles the city noise. It has been a participant in the Habano Festival due to its recognized high standard.
I'm leaving with a sense of satisfaction, the joy of a PlanH experience, with its delicious food, and very cozy and elegant atmosphere. The decorations are striking, and it makes you want to spend the whole day drinking wine, dining, and sharing ideas with the staff.
La parte trasera es reservada para eventos privados, degustaciones, bodas, música en vivo e íntimas en un patio que baja el ruido de la ciudad. Ha sido participe de festival del Habano por su reconocimiento de categoría.
Me voy con la satisfacción, la alegría de un PlanH, con su comida bien rica, el ambiente muy acogedor y elegante. Decoraciones llamativas y con ganas de pasar todo un día tomando vino, consumiendo y compartiendo ideas con los trabajadores del centro.
Leaving the first tour to have lunch at PlanH, I went to a visual encounter featuring an exhibition by the daughter/manager of the gallery of the renowned photographic artist Raúl Corrales, located at 524 O'Reilly Street, between Monserrate and Villegas, in Old Havana.
The goal was to stimulate the production of a project of photographic work and those culturally significant images that guarantee the continuity of our visual memory of Corrales.
Saliendo del primer recorrido para almorzar en PlanH, fui a un encuentro visual que exponía la hija manager gallery del reconocido artista fotográfico Raúl Corrales, ubicada en calle O’Reilly #524 entre Monserrate y Villegas en La Habana Vieja.
Tenía el objetivo de estimular la producción de un proyecto de obra fotográfica y aquellas imágenes culturalmente significantes que garanticen la continuidad de nuestra memoria visual de Corrales.
The artist Raúl Corrales was responsible for immortalizing through his lens moments such as the First Declaration of Havana and snapshots from the tumultuous days of the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis, which today are jewels of Cuban photography. There were also unique photographs of the revolutionary commanders Ernesto Che Guevara and Fidel Castro Ruz. I loved this visit because this creator is from my hometown, Ciego de Ávila, and it fills me with pride.
As he liked to call himself, he was a photojournalist who began his work in the 1940s, at a time when art had been demanding for previous decades to connect with life. This was due to the democratizing rise of the middle classes, the contribution of immigrants, and the mass dissemination of schools, the press, and the radio, all of which created a favorable climate for creation. Simultaneously, powerful trade union and peasant associations were emerging. It was in this environment that photography, despite not being fully recognized as an art form at the time, was tasked more forcefully than any other artistic genre with expressing its relationship with society, and its documentary value came to define the social sphere.
El artista Raúl Corrales se encargó de inmortalizar a través del lente momentos como la Primera Declaración de La Habana e instantáneas de los días azarosos de Girón y la Crisis de octubre, que hoy constituyen joyas dentro de la fotografía cubana. Además fotografías únicas a los comandantes de la revolución Ernesto Che Guevara y Fidel Castro Ruz, me encanto esta visita ya que este creador es de mi ciudad natal Ciego de Ávila y me llena de orgullo.
Como él mismo gustaba llamarse, es un fotorreportero que inició su trabajo en los años 40, en el momento en que el arte reclamaba desde décadas anteriores vincularse a la vida por el ascenso democratizador de sectores medios, el aporte de inmigrantes, por la difusión masiva de la escuela, la prensa y la radio, todo lo cual propició un clima favorable a la creación, mientras paralelamente surgían poderosas asociaciones sindicales y campesinas y fue en ese entorno que a la fotografía, a pesar de no ser totalmente reconocida como arte en esa época, le correspondió con mayor fuerza que a cualquier otro género artístico expresar su relación con la sociedad y al valor documental definir lo social.
The portrait, that synonym of photography, is a permanent motif in his body of work. But it is not a conventional portrait that merely adorns or pleases; it is a psychological focus of human interest. It expresses the photographer's sensitivity in probing the gesture, character, or mood of the subject. It is the search for the unseen image; it is about provoking unease, empathy, or attraction towards the subject in the viewer.
It was a bit tricky to take the photographs because they were covered by glass, but they turned out better than expected.
El retrato, ese sinónimo de fotografía es un motivo permanente en el conjunto de su obra, pero no es el retrato pasado que adorna o complace: es el enfoque psicológico de interés humano, donde se expresa la sensibilidad del fotógrafo para indagar en el gesto, el carácter o el estado de ánimo del fotografiado, es la búsqueda de la imagen no vista; es el provocar la inquietud, la compenetración o la atracción hacia el referente por el espectador.
Eran un poco complicado realizar las tomas fotografías por su cubierto de cristal, pero salieron mejor de lo esperado.
Corrales confessed that he had tried to portray things as he had wanted to show them to others and added that everything that can be found in his photos is his way of seeing life from the moment he became conscious of it.
He considered himself a graphic chronicler of the Revolution by accident of the era and said, "I happened to be there"—and that is precisely what photography is, it is a 'being there.' Many of his photos were taken during times of war and periods of revolutionary triumph.
Corrales confesó que había tratado de retratar las cosas como había querido enseñarlas a los demás y añadió que todo lo que pueda encontrarse en sus fotos es su manera de ver la vida desde que tuvo conciencia de ello.
El se consideraba un cronista gráfico de la Revolución por accidente de la época y decía, "me tocó estar allí" y eso precisamente es la fotografía, es un estar allí. Muchas fueron en épocas de guerra y períodos del triunfo revolucionario.
His work has become a symbol, a collective memory, and a testament to deep communication. The photos speak for themselves, reclaiming their autonomy, and are characterized by a powerful exaltation of humanity and its world, with a personal and bold framing that captures the essential, denoting a very contemporary criterion.
Well, I must tell you that there is a school named after him in honor of this great photographer of Cuban, independence-focused actions.
Su obra se ha convertido en símbolo, en memoria colectiva y en testimonio de profunda comunicación, donde las fotos, hablan por sí mismas, rescatan su autonomía, se caracterizan por la fuerte exaltación del hombre y su mundo, con un encuadre personal y audaz al captar lo esencial que denota un criterio muy contemporáneo.
Pues les comentaré que existe una escuela con su nombre en honor a este gran fotógrafo de las acciones cubanas, independentistas.
Now, when revisiting his body of work—years of dedication with passion and respect for the photographic artistic medium in all its facets, from knowledge of darkroom techniques to editing, through the search for and encounter with the image, from the aesthetics of hardship to the response of solidarity and ethics—Corrales's work demonstrates the expressive force and visual acuity of someone rightfully considered the Master of Masters of the photographic genre in the country.
Ahora, al revisitar la obra de años de entrega con pasión y respeto al medio artístico fotográfico en todas sus facetas, desde el conocimiento de la técnica del laboratorio hasta la edición, pasando por la búsqueda y el encuentro con la imagen, desde la estética de la miseria hasta la respuesta solidaria y ética, demuestra Corrales en su obra la fuerza expresiva y la agudeza visual de quien con razón se le considera el Maestro de Maestros del género fotográfico en el país.
