In the center of Phuket Island, Thailand, in the eastern part which is less touristic and rather frequented by the locals, there is a really uncommon place for Phuket.
A place that will not only enjoy the children but also the adults, a place where you can easily spend a good part of the day (don't panic, there is a restaurant on site so you won't starve to death).
A place where you will be able to meet animals that we are not used to see on the island of Phuket and that I miss a lot (especially one in particular).
Au centre de l'ile de Phuket, Thailande, dans la partie Est qui est moins touristique, ce trouve un endroit vraiment pas commun pour Phuket.
Un endroit qui ne plaira pas seulement aux enfants mais aussi aux adultes un endroit où vous pourrez passer une bonne partie de la journée sans trop de difficulté (pas de panique, il y a un restaurant sur place).
Vous pourrez y cottoyer des animaux que l'on a pas trop l'habitude de voir sur l'ile de Phuket et qui j'avoue me manque beaucoup (notamment un en particulier).
The entrance is modest with a basic tiny souvenir store that does not give any indication of the size of the place, place which is sold simply as a Rabbit Café & Restaurant.
Souvenir store where you can buy food packs ($0.60/0.55€ each) to feed the animals (this is the only food allowed to give them!). No ticket required for the first part of what is in fact a farm animals park, only the second part requires to pay to enter (part that I will introduce you in a future post, this one being dedicated to the first one).
The place which is located in the district of Thalang is known as Rabbit Hole AT Phuket (ร้านโพรงกระต่าย) and is open every day without interruption from 10 am until 8 pm.
Of course my youngest wanted the buy 5 get 1 pack food option, this is not surprising given his unconditional love for animals. As much, in general, Thai people are not expressive of their feelings (no hugs or kisses) as my son I educated him in the French way (our 2 cats at home are real teddy bears for him) 🤣
L'entrée, sommes toute basic, avec un simple magasin de souvenir ne laisse en rien présager de l'immensité de l'endroit vendu simplement comme un Rabbit Café & Restaurant.
Dans le Magasin de souvenir vous pourrez acheter des packs de nourriture ($0.60/0.55€ pièce) a donner aux animaux (c'est d'ailleurs la seule nourriture autorisé à leur donner!). Pas de ticket à acheter pour la première partie de ce qui est en fait un parc animalier (animaux de basse cour principalement), seule la deuxième partie nécessite de payer pour y rentrer (partie que je vous présenterais dans un futur post, celui-ci étant consacré à la première).
L'endroit qui se situe dans le district de Thalang se nomme Rabbit Hole AT Phuket (ร้านโพรงกระต่าย) et est ouvert tous les jours sans interruption de 10 heures du matin jusqu'au soir 20 heures.
Bien évidemment mon plus jeune fils à voulu l'option 5 pack de nourriture acheté = 1 offert, ce qui n'est pas étonnant vu son amour inconditionnel pour les animaux. Autant en général les thailandais ne sont pas expressif de leur sentiment (pas de calin ni de bisous) autant mon fils je l'ai éduqué à la française (nos 2 chats à la maison sont de vrai peluche pour lui) 🤣
Once past the entrance, a very elegant horse greeted us. It was a big surprise for me who loves them so much, which made me realize how much I miss them. The long rides in the forest or on the beaches of the Atlantic coast, what a lot of memories that reminded me!
A great first for my son who had never seen one in real life and who was immediately charmed and impressed by the size of the animal, it's sure that on screen it doesn't look the same.
Une fois l'entrée passé un magnifique cheval nous accueille. Ce fût une grosse surprise pour moi qui les adore, ce qui m'a fait me rendre compte à quel point ils me manquent. Les longues ballade en forêt ou sur les plages de la côte atlantique, que de souvenir cela m'a remémoré!
Une grande première aussi pour mon fils qui n'en avait jamais vu en vrai et qui a tout de suite été à la fois sous le charme et impressioné par la taille de l'animal, c'est sur que sur écran cela ne rend pas pareil.
Immediately after is a beautiful little waterfall that I could enjoy for hours, I see myself too well in a hammock to enjoy this little corner of happiness.
Even if it is an arranged place it has been done so well that it doesn't matter much. There is even a little mist coming out from here and there.
Moreover the fact that the park is located between the hills of Phuket it gives a refreshing place and not suffocating one.
Tout de suite après se trouve une magnifique petite cascade que je pourrais admirer des heures entière, je me vois trop bien dans un hamac à profiter de ce petit coin de bonheur.
Même si c'est un endroit arrangé cela à tellement été bien fait que cela n'a pas beaucoup d'importance. Il y a même une petite brume qui s'en échappe de si de là.
En plus, le fait que le parc se situe entre les collines de Phuket y donne un endroit rafraichissant et pas étouffant.
But the waterfall is far from being the only attraction of this small corner of the park! Amazing Koi carp are there to give even more color to the place, if more were needed.
This made the happiness of my wife and my son who had a great time feeding them.
We can't say that since our arrival we have made much progress inside the park. It's time to go explore the next part.
Mais la cascade est loin d'être le seul attrait de ce petit coin du parc! De magnifique carpe Koi sont là pour donner encore plus de couleurs à l'endroit, si il en fallait.
Ce qui a fait le bonheur de ma femme et mon fils qui s'en sont donnés à coeur joie pour les nourrir.
On ne peut pas dire que depuis notre arrivée nous ayons beaucoup progressé à l'intérieur du parc. Il est grand temps d'aller explorer la suite.
Change of mood for this new part with the farmyard animal having airs of the Shire and where we expect to fall face-to-face with a Hobbit.
Here ducks, chickens, roosters and other gallinaceous animals wander around as they please.
Changement d'ambiance pour cette nouvelle partie avec les animaux de la basse cour ayant des airs de la Comté et où l'on s'attends à tomber nez à nez avec un Hobbit.
Ici, canards, poulets, coqs et autres gallinacés qui déambulent au gré de leur envie.
Not forgetting the rabbits, remember that the place is called the rabbit hole. 😉
And here is another long moment spent in a small part of this wonderful park, to contemplate, to give food to the animals...
But also beautiful first encounters with some animals for my son who has his eyes light up.
Sans oublier non plus les lapins, pour rappel le lieux s'appelle le terrier du lapin 😉
Et voilà encore un long moment de passé dans une petite partie de se parc magnifique, à contempler, à donner à manger aux animaux...
Mais aussi de belles premières rencontres pour mon fils qui en a les yeux qui brillent.
But let's go, the visit is not over! What else is there to discover?
Now it's a beautiful pond that welcomes us where you can rent pedal boats and that serves as a delimiter between the free part and the paying part of the park.
With once again a wonderful fauna and flora!
Mais continuons notre chemin, la visite n'est pas terminé! Qu'y a-t'il d'autre à découvrir?
Désormais, c'est un jolie petit étang qui nous accueille où l'on peut louer des pédalos et qui sert de démarcation entre la partie gratuite et la partie payante du parc.
Avec une nouvelle fois une faune et une flore magnifique!
But, but, wait, we haven't finished the free part. Yes there are ponies too 😂
When I tell you that it is for the whole family, because yes you can ride a horse or pony in the park (from 15 minutes to 1 hour).
Mais, mais, attendez, nous n'avons pas finis la partie gratuite. Bah, oui il y a les ponets aussi 😂
Quand je vous ai dit que c'était pour toute la famille, car oui on peut faire des ballade à cheval ou ponet dans le parc (de 15 minutes à 1 heure).
In fact, as we were not expecting a park of this size at all, we arrived relatively late. Already 4 hours that we are there and we must already think of leaving it.
For the next part, the paying part and why not a horse ride if my son is not too impressed, it will be for another day 😉
What I would also remember about this place is the huge number of employees and their extreme kindness and helpfulness.
En fait, comme on ne s'attendait pas du tout à un parc, nous sommes venu relativement tard. Déjà 4 heures que nous y sommes et le soir ne va pas tarder à tomber.
Pour la suite, la partie payante et pourquoi pas une balade à cheval si mon fils n'est pas trop impressioné ce sera pour une prochaine fois 😉
Ce que j'aurais aussi retenu de cet endroit c'est un staff conséquent et d'une extrême gentillesse et serviabilité.
