How I was wowed by Nature

A high viewed mountain is one of my favorite scenery in nature. It is so refreshing in the eyes. So one of a kind. So breathtaking.

My quick adventure to this beautiful experience started when I was ask by my friend if I have ever tried trekking. Of course, I have no idea what was she talking about because I'm not really into physical activities before. I jog or run but that's it.

When she started telling me the places she been too, I got pretty excited and a little bit jealous because she was able to do those on her own. And so I didn't hesitate to join the club right away.

It is my first time to do trekking and this is the first mountain on the list. Mt. Naupa is located at Naga, Cebu. Some called it Beginner-Friendly Mountain Peak in Naga City.

Steep mountains and ranges with an elevation of more than 2,500 meters above sea level hold in its peaks a natural phenomenon that many travelers and mountain hikers look forward to – the sea of clouds.

Unfortunately, we were not able to witness this sea of cloud when we reached the peak but instead we got to see the cold fog and breeze of air.

But upon reaching the peak, it gone wrong but not in a scary way. We got lost at first assuming we were taking the short cut. Haha instead we went the other way, the long way.

You may start your journey by going first to Cebu South Bus Terminal. From there, ride a bus that’s bound for Carcar City and ask the driver to drop you off in Tungkop, Minglanilla. Your landmark is the Sister of Mary School in Minglanilla at the right side of the road. Look for Lolo Tinong’s Bakeshop and you may ride a motorcycle from there going to the drop off area in Brgy. Cogon, just tell your driver you’re going to Mt. Naupa.

Even though we got lost for a while, I thought that it was somehow okay because I was able to see how some people lives in there. I even met this lolo who sells his goods at the mountain peak together with his grandsons who lives there with him.

Their customers are mainly like us, mountain hikers, trekkers, and his neighbor down the mountain. Lolo is so humble and very kind that he just let us make our own coffee and even offer us to take a rest for a while and sit there with him. That short chit chat with lolo displayed how well he is living, how simple life for him. How peaceful his life is while living in a small bahay kubo with his goods as his source of income.

After that we move along and I got astonished by these beautiful flowers along the way. I really did not know the names of these flowers are but they were all so beautiful.

Before the day comes off we have successfully reached the mountain peak, sadly I wasn't able to take lots of pictures because I really got wowed by nature, moved by how it was wonderfully created, the mountains and the cool air which I wish I can live there forever, if only its that easy and possible. Haha!

I'm so thankful to these guys because not only they taught me and guide me how to survive the trek, prior to going there and on the way which will really give you some thoughts to jog few times to get enough air to breath to survive the journey.

This is it for now, and will look for more mountains to trek in the future. I'm just so proud of my self because I was able to survive the journey which was yes, its true for them its an easy accessible mountain to trek but for a beginner like me, uhhh not really haha! I really have to go jogging if I want to pursue this, everyday as possible and I thought I deserve a pat on myself for checking one of my bucket list. And from there, I'm looking forward for more nature-venture to accomplish in the future.
