As I had already anticipated in the previous post Linux Day is a non-profit Italian event, aimed at promoting the use of free software and GNU / Linux, which is held annually every fourth Saturday in October and consists of a set of contemporary events organized in various Italian cities.
In 2019 I chose Siena to participate and as usual after each working day we dedicated ourselves to touring the city in which we were lucky enough to participate.
Of Siena, a city that still retains its medieval features today, I spoke to you in this post, illustrating it with images to give you a more finished and realistic vision of what was, in the Renaissance together with Florence and Venice, the cradle of Italian art:
The previous year, that is, in 2018, he had participated in the Linux Day held in the city of Naples, an Italian city sometimes exaggeratedly criticized by Italians themselves, especially from the north, for its disorder and its high percentage of crimes.
However, the truth is that Naples has enough to keep the visitor entertained for a few days.
We spent a few days extremely quiet and the show on the Amalfi Riviera is simply wonderful.
In terms of buildings of historical value, monuments and works of art, it has nothing to envy to so many other Italian cities.
Camera in hand I'll tell you about my trip.
Como ya les había anticipado en el post anterior el Linux Day es un evento italiano sin fines de lucro, destinado a promover la utilización del software libre y de GNU/Linux, que se celebra anualmente cada cuarto sábado de octubre y que consiste en un conjunto de eventos contemporáneos organizados en varias ciudades italianas.
En el año 2019 elegí Siena para participar y como es habitual después de cada jornada de trabajo nos dedicamos a recorrer la ciudad en la que nos ha tocado en suerte participar.
De Siena, una ciudad que aún hoy conserva sus rasgos medievales, les hablé en este post, ilustrándolo con imágenes para darle una visión más acabada y realista de la que fue, en el Renacimiento junto a Florencia y Venecia, la cuna del arte italiano:
El año anterior, es decir en el 2018, había participado al Linux Day celebrado en la ciudad de Nápoles, una ciudad italiana a veces exageradamente criticada y etiquetada por los mismos italianos, especialmente del norte, por ser una ciudad desordenada, caótica y con un alto porcentaje de delitos.
Sin embargo lo cierto es que Nápoles tiene lo suficiente para mantener entretenido al visitante durante unos cuantos dias.
Pasamos unos días sumamenente tranquilos y el espectáculo de la Riviera Amalfitana es simplemente maravilloso.
En cuanto a edificios de valor histórico, monumentos y obras de arte no tiene nada que envidiar a tantas otras ciudades italianas.

1.- The Promenade. / El Paseo Marítimo. -Lungomare-
It is the most elegant part of the city (called in Italian Lungomare) and in fact it changes a lot as we move away towards the peripheral muds or towards the historic center itself.
In a very clean, orderly area, with hotels and luxury businesses of international level.
Es la parte más elegante de la ciudad (llamada en italiano Lungomare) y de hecho cambio muchísimo a medida que nos vamos alejando hacia los barros periféricos o hacia el mismo centro histórico.
En una zona muy limpia, ordenada, con hoteles y negocios de lujo de nivel internacional.
2.- Egg Castle. / Castillo del Huevo . - Castel dell'Ovo -
Along the Lungomare and near Puerto Santa Lucía we find the first typically Neapolitan historical monument: Il Castel dell'Ovo (Egg Castle).
Admission is free (unusual for Italian monuments and castles) and it has a very nice view of the entire Gulf of Naples.
It is the oldest castle in the city of Naples.
Due to various events that partially destroyed the original Norman appearance, reconstruction works were necessary that took place during the Angevin and Aragonese periods.
An ancient legend tells that its name derives from the fact that the Latin poet Virgilio hid a magic egg in the building's dungeons that had the power to keep the entire fortress standing.
Its failure, however, would have caused not only the collapse of the castle, but also a series of disastrous catastrophes in the city of Naples.
A lo largo del Lungomare y cerca del Puerto Santa Lucía encontramos el primer monumento histórico típicamente napolitano: Il Castel dell'Ovo (Castillo del Huevo).
La entrada es gratuita (algo inusual en los monumentos y castillos italianos) y tiene una vista muy bonita de todo el Golfo de Nápoles.
Es el castillo más antiguo de la ciudad de Nápoles.
Debido a diversos hechos que destruyeron parcialmente el aspecto normando original fueron necesarias obras de reconstrucción que tuvieron lugar durante los períodos angevino y aragonés.
Cuenta una antigua leyenda que su nombre deriva del hecho que el poeta latino Virgilio escondió en las mazmorras del edificio un huevo mágico que tenía el poder de mantener en pie toda la fortaleza. Su rotura, sin embargo, habría provocado no solo el derrumbe del castillo, sino también una serie de desastrosas catástrofes en la ciudad de Nápoles.
3.- New Castle. / Castillo Nuevo.- Castel Nuovo o Maschio Angioino -
In this castle called new to differentiate it from the previous one, the City Museum is based.
It is a historic medieval and Renaissance castle, as well as one of the symbols of the city of Naples.
The construction of its old nucleus - today it partially resurfaced after the restoration and archaeological exploration - is due to the initiative of Carlos I of Anjou, in the year 1266.
En este castillo llamado nuevo para diferenciarlo del anterior tiene sede el Museo de la Ciudad.
Es un castillo histórico medieval y renacentista, así como uno de los símbolos de la ciudad de Nápoles.
La construcción de su antiguo núcleo - hoy resurgió parcialmente tras la restauración y exploración arqueológica - se debe a la iniciativa de Carlos I de Anjou, en el año 1266.
4.- Port of Mergellina. / Puerto de Mergellina - Porto di Mergellina.
Mergellina, once a dock for Neapolitan fishermen, is a small port used in part for connections to the island of Ischia, the Pontine Islands and the Aeolian Islands; partly for mooring yachts and large boats that sail the Mediterranean.
Maritime connections are active only during the summer period. Those of Ischia are daily; those of the Pontine and Aeolian islands are limited instead to weekends.
The number of trips to the island of Ischia, however, is quite limited, so there is an objective convenience to embark from Mergellina, otherwise it is better to do it from Molo Beverello or from Calata Porta di Massa.
Mergellina, que alguna vez fue un muelle para los pescadores napolitanos, es un pequeño puerto que se utiliza en parte para conexiones con la isla de Ischia, las islas Pontinas y las islas Eolias; en parte para el amarre de yates y grandes embarcaciones que navegan por el Mediterráneo.
Las conexiones marítimas están activas solo durante el período de verano. Los de Ischia son diarios; las de las islas Pontinas y Eolias se limitan en cambio a los fines de semana.
El número de viajes a la isla de Ischia, sin embargo, es bastante limitado, por lo que hay una conveniencia objetiva para embarcarse desde Mergellina, de lo contrario es mejor hacerlo desde Molo Beverello o desde Calata Porta di Massa.
5.- Floridian Villa. / Villa Floridiana. - Villa Floridiana -
Villa Floridiana is a building of historical and artistic interest in Naples, located in the Vomero district within the homonymous park, one of the few important green spaces that remain in the city.
The complex was part of the group of buildings used as Bourbon royal residences in Campania and since 1927 has housed the Duca di Martina National Ceramic Museum.
Villa Floridiana es un edificio de interés histórico y artístico en Nápoles, ubicado en el distrito de Vomero dentro del parque homónimo, uno de los pocos espacios verdes importantes que restan en la ciudad.
El complejo formaba parte del grupo de edificios utilizados como residencias reales borbónicas en Campania y desde 1927 alberga el Museo Nacional de Cerámica Duca di Martina.
6.- Church of the New Jesus. / Iglesia del Jesús Nuevo - Chiesa del Gesú Nuovo -
The Church of Gesù Nuovo, or of the Greater Trinity, is a basilica church in Naples, located in the piazza del Gesù Nuovo in front of the Obelisk of the Immaculate Conception and the Basilica of Santa Chiara.
It was built at the end of the 14th century and was initially part of the Sanseverino Palace.
It is one of the most important and largest churches in the city, among the largest concentrations of Baroque painting and sculpture, in which some of the most influential artists of the Neapolitan school worked.
Inside is the body of San Giuseppe Moscati, canonized by Pope John Paul II in 1987.
La Iglesia de Gesù Nuovo, o de la Trinidad Mayor, es una iglesia basílica en Nápoles, ubicada en la piazza del Gesù Nuovo frente al obelisco de la Inmaculada Concepción y la basílica de Santa Chiara.
Fue construída al final del siglo XIV e inicialmente hacía parte del Palacio Sanseverino.
Es una de las iglesias más importantes y grandes de la ciudad, entre las mayores concentraciones de pintura y escultura barroca, en la que trabajaron algunos de los artistas más influyentes de la escuela napolitana.
En su interior se encuentra el cuerpo de San Giuseppe Moscati, canonizado por el Papa Juan Pablo II en 1987.
I have tried to show you some not so well known aspects of Naples. The other tourist sites are found in any depliant: Pompeii, the island of Capri, Mount Vesuvius.
Anyway, I stayed a few days in this multifaceted city to visit them and I hope to be able to share with you all the photos and impressions that I could take with me.

He tratado de mostrarles algunos aspectos no tan conocidos de Nápoles. Los demás sitios turísticos los encuentran en cualquier depliant: Pompeya, la isla de Capri, el Vesubio.
