Travel Digest #1108

Introduction

Hello everyone! This is @ybanezkim26 and I'll be presenting today's edition of #TravelDigest. But before presenting today's selection of travel posts, I would like to make an announcement in behalf of @pinmapple and @haveyoubeenhere team. Please take note of this announcement.

Because of the recent events, we had to make a clear stance regarding the issue of recycling old posts. Recycling old content or reposting is strictly discouraged within Haveyoubeenhere community. We thought that this has been clear by now even in Hive, but it seems there are still confusions. A repost does not add value to Hive. It takes advantage of the reward mechanism and undermines the effort of those who strive to bring fresh content.

For travel posts within @pinmapple and @haveyoubeenhere community, there's a special case where the author wanted to pin old posts in @pinmapple. Here's what the team has decided:

  1. It's okay to repost with the sole intention of pinning those posts in @pinmapple.

  2. To ensure the intention, the author must decline the rewards and clearly indicate in the first sentence that the post is recycled.

  3. Failure to comply with those two requirements will result in a blacklist or ban from @pinmapple and @haveyoubeenhere community.

Alright! Here are the top travel posts for today. Enjoy!

All featured posts are visible on the Editors Choice Map and upvoted by @pinmapple, @blocktrades, @theycallmedan and the curation trail. For more travel digests check out #traveldigest.

Our winners today 🍍

🥇 Elephant Sanctuary - Pattaya by @george-topalov

The sanctuary supports itself off of tourists and is able to take care of the elephants mostly from that income. It is still a business but a lot more ethical one and does for a great experience. It usually takes half a day for the whole activity. You arrive and they explain a lot about the elephants. Their behaviour, what not to do around them and with them. They introduce each elephant and talk a bit about where they came from and how they are doing now. The second time we went to the place they had just saved a baby elephant that was so distressed, it had a handler around at all times and we weren't allowed to go near it much.

🥉 Exploring Celado, Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro! by @alequandro

Hello everyone! Those who follow me will have noticed that in the last two years I have been exploring Trentino Alto Adige and in particular I have often returned to the Castello Tesino area. The reason is simple, it only takes an hour by car to get there from where I live, and it is a very diverse area that offers many possibilities for excursions. In this post I will tell you about the time I left without a specific destination to further explore the surroundings of Castello Tesino.

Thanks for having me on! :)

You're welcome! I enjoyed reading your post about those gentle giants. It has always been my dream visit an elephant sanctuary. I saw some posts and vlogs where they had a ride with elephants, I don't want those. I like what you did. Just enjoying a day with them. Some of them have suffered enough from exploitation and hard labor.

Yeah.. I wish people open their eyes more to what is happening when they go do the 'touristy stuff' with animals. Some are so obvious like the drugged tigers that people keep taking photos with. And then for the people exploiting the animals to realize there are better ways of doing this like this sanctuary did.

That's why I never supported any tourist spot that's known to exploit animals. We have a few here in Cebu like the Whaleshark watching in Oslob. It disrupts the migration and feeding patterns of those whale sharks.

Thanks for the mentions @ybanezkim26 appreciate you all for sure, congrats everyone, some more awesome posts as usual. Keep em coming.

You have been a constant name in every digest, huh? 😄 Keep 'em coming.

I hope that doesn't mean I'm the only one breaking protocol and going against the plandemic rules. Lol... I spend more time outside since all this started then I did before it. I supposed since joining you all too, I feel the need to just create and do the best I can.

The amount of travel posts didn't actually drop since the pandemic happened. It means either people have a lot of travels that were not posted or we are forced to explore our own locality or both. Which is totally amazing.

True, I was more on the private side of things but since I found you guys and joined the community some was from the past to get them pinned but most are in real time, especially my Hikes. All I want to do is hike, lol.

I missed hiking so much! I haven't hiked since last October. Hiking is generally allowed here, but I have a problem with the transportation. I'm so jealous with your hikes! 😄

Well hopefully you get out and get one in as soon as possible, I will pray for it to come for you in the near future my friend......

Oh! Thanks for the mention!!! :)

Keep them amazing posts coming! 😄
