Beer Factory - Taiwan Trip 2021

in Pinmapple2 years ago

I am not much of a beer drinker growing up, however lately since my German friend is staying at my place to prep for a scooter trip a whole circle around Taiwan we have been drinking some beer together. German people love their beer. :) and I realized that there are so many privately owned beer companies in Taiwan we decided to visit one near where we live in Hsinchu Taiwan. The small beer factory we have visit was called XIAN BIER.

These were the types of beer they create and sell in small batches.

This is where the tour begins and get to understand the different types they sell in the market. They said they started this operation 3 years ago.

XianBier 03.jpg
One of the first machines they have started with in the venture.

XianBier 07.jpg
The two machines looked like where they prep the materials to start brewing.

XianBier 47.jpg
One of the materials which they use to begin the process.

XianBier 48.jpg
It seemed they use several different types of barley and malt for their beer.

XianBier 09.jpg
It definitely looked like all the machines are new... I had no idea equipment can be so clean and well maintained.

XianBier 10.jpg
Just look at how clean inside and the build quality of the machines are extremely good.

A closer look at the inside of the brewing machine.

XianBier 18.jpg
The workers place in the materials and start warming up and mixing the barley with pure water.

These were the containers of where they story and leave the beer for at least 45 days to 1 year.

The owner begins to give some samples of the beer to everyone.

Amazing smell and texture of the foam!

Explaining some of the differences and uniqueness of their beer.

XianBier 33.jpg
Its amazing to see how clean the facility is.... I wish my workplace was just as clean as theirs. :)

The area where they move the product into the kegs for sales in pubs.

Equipment monitoring

XianBier 44.jpg
All these pipe lines!!~ There is just absolutely no spec of dust around them and the craftmanship is really well built.

My German friend approves!~ Lolz :)

The menu of tasting different type of not only just beer but also non-alcoholic beverages, ice cream as well!

XianBier 01.jpg
Overall, I am beginning to understand the beauty of craftmanship and how much hard work needs to be given to create a beer that this company can offer and I recommend for anyone near the area in Hsinchu Taiwan to give this place a visit. I heard that there are many small factories like this around Taiwan so during our trip we will try to visit and blog them as we go.

This looks fun to be in. I was always fascinated with how these were made from old to new tech, from the raw ingredients to the golden Amber liquid on a glass we cna enjoy with friends.

Hi adamada~ Yes I am totally in sync with you on that part. Even in the crazy high tech lifestyle we live in... when we look into the essence of things... it really goes back to the very basic of how things like beer was made hundreds of years ago. The process is the same... and time has polished it to perfection.

So beautifully designed

right? I was so fascinated by the cleanness of the factory. At first I assumed it to be a bit dirty like when we imagine a factory... oil leaks, foot prints everywhere.... hahahaha. But... no... this was as clean as a hospital!

The process is great, the product is definitely great. I also want to try it

I had very little expectations when we headed out, but came back with a better understanding of beer and respect to those who make it in great quality.

Which one did you like the most? :D

Since I am not a beer drinker I couldn't really tell a lot of differences from one or the other although my German friend definitely knew the difference. hahahaha~~~ However one thing was for sure... It tasted way fresher than the ones we buy in cans.

Ohh okay xD
Sounds like a good time either way :p

Ye ofcouse, it doesn't get much fresher than thst :p

I love this kind of article, it is not every day that you can see this kind of story. Greetings from the Philippines!

Thanks afterglow~ I appreciate your kind words. Yea I have been wanting to share my life stories around the world because I have been moving around in a lot of places and wanted to share my life experience in a wonderful community like we have in Hive. I will continue to share some great stuff I discover. :)

You're welcome (^_^), I'll be looking forward for your next blog.

If a German says a beer is good, then I guess it's definitely got a seal of approval!!

I can't wait to see you start travel around Taiwan and where you go. Will you be staying up the temples in the mountains? Those are awesome experience.

By the way, when posting in this community, can you make sure you pin your post on Pinmappple https://pinmapple.com/ please? For one, it's a great way to track all the places you've been on your personal map, and second, we only curate posts that are on Pinmapple. Hey!~ How are you? Thanks for the comment. 😄
I will definitely post my future travels and discoveries in pineapple from now on. I had no idea but I would like to for sure share my experience and hope it can inspire others as much as possible. Thanks a lot luvinguktaiwan!

I for one am definitely missing Taiwan travels, am really stuck still they open up again. Hopefully I can return next year....

The time will come~~~ and you will always be welcome here. :)

Wow! Thanks for the tour! I'm not a big drinker myself, but that looks very tempting lol

Ah yes, the Germans and their Bier!! I was the same with wine @whangster. Not a fan but then I used to go hiking with friends that would celebrate with good red wine at the end of the trip. I learned to love it. Visiting wineries also helps. This is fascinating! Right up your alley @craigcryptoking?!!!!
Thanks @brumest for the curation or I could've missed a fascinating post

Hahahahaha~ Yes the Germans love their Bier. :) I can totally relate with you on the wine... I guess its something to enjoy when we know its true essence of where it came to be. I mostly just thought beer as a Homer Simpson kinda thing, because its what I have been always seeing most of the time. But now we know. :)

There's a long time Hiver living in Taiwan, he is @stoodkev. Try to get in touch with him if you want to expand your Hive community man!

Try to home brew. It's quite easy to start and you learn a couple of things in the process... its usually cheaper too.

I have seen a trend going on with home brewing. Looks very interesting~ Thanks for the comment~ I can give it a try. :)

I like to drink beer and can say I've tried quite a few from different countries, but I had no idea there were beer crafters in Taiwan?! Keep up the good work and take us to more breweries please!

Very nice write up. Looks tasty!
