La triste verdad es que vivimos en una sociedad donde el aspecto físico es sumamente importante por lo que las personas se terminan dejando llevar por los cánones de belleza y esterotipos impuestos hasta tal punto de querer alcanzar elementos de perfección.
Today's topic for day #20 of the fifth part of the #BloggingChallenge made me think a lot about how one can feel about their physical appearance. Muchas veces las personas terminan tomando el camino de las Cirugías Plásticas para mejorar su apariencia física y autoestima, pero lo cierto es que en muchos casos no necesariamente el procedimiento va a mejorar el autoestima porque no todo tiene que ver con lo que vemos únicamente en el espejo, pues el contenido de nuestros propios pensamientos juega un papel bastante importante.

No estoy 100% en contra de las Cirugías Plásticas, siempre y cuando no se llegue al extremo de abusar de ellas y mientras se empleen de manera eficiente para ayudar a personas que verdaderamente no tiene otra forma de recuperar o de mejorar algo en su cuerpo porque se han visto perjudicadas, bien se por quemaduras, traumatismos o cáncer. Por otra parte, si hablamos de la Cirugía Plástica inclinada más hacia el lado estético tampoco estoy en total desacuerdo, porque si realmente podemos cambiar partes de nuestro cuerpo que no se pueden mejorar con ejercicio y lo hacemos simplemente para sentirnos mejor con nosotros mismos y no para satisfacer a los estándares de belleza sociales, entonces no lo veo tan mal de todo.
I am not 100% against Plastic Surgeries, as long as we do not go to the extreme of abusing them and they are used efficiently to help people who truly have no other way to recover or improve something in their body because they have been damaged by burns, trauma or cancer. On the other hand, if we talk about Plastic Surgery leaning more towards the aesthetic side I am not in total disagreement either, because if we can really change parts of our body that cannot be improved with exercise and we do it simply to feel better about ourselves and not to satisfy social beauty standards, then I do not see it so bad at all.
La verdad es que estoy bastante conforme con todos mis rasgos faciales hasta incluso con mi nariz de bruja como yo suelo llamarle, pero les mentiría al decirles que nunca he fantaseado con la idea de realizarme una Rinoplastia simplemente para corregir un poco su estética. Mi nariz es un poco caída hacia abajo, pero esto no es mal de morirse, esto no es algo que influya en mi autoestima y que me haga sentirme "menos bonita", realmente me agrada mi rostro tal y como es pero si pudiese simplemente realizarle esa pequeña modificación de verdad que no estaría mal.
