Time flowed so quickly and winter is knocking at the door. Meanwhile, a lot of things happened that I didn't share with anybody. I started keeping things in me like holding a secret, a secret that I don't want to share, and keeping it for myself. The year is going to end and nothing exactly changed from my side except life conditions and situations. The only thing that is happened recently is that IND in the Netherlands has extended temporary protection for all Ukrainian refugees until 2024. It was 4th March 2023 before, so I have now one extra year in my hand because the timeline has been extended until 4th March 2024. I don't know if I am happy about it or not but I think there is still hope to rebuild a life. I don't know when and where it will happen but something will happen in my life.
I finally decided to quit my job. It was a hard decision to make and I finally decided to quit. My contract was for 6 months and it will finish on 31st December, so I will finish my contract and go. I have already sent an official letter and I am finally happy and relaxed that I am quitting this job. I wrote before that because of this job, I was dealing with stress and anxiety every day. After considering the pros and cons, I took this decision based on my work ethic and value. I don't prefer working in such places where people don't understand my value and don't respect me at all. I started looking for new jobs already and started dropping my CV. Let's see how things go as I have 1 and a half months to find a new job.
Truly it was a big relief for me after giving my contract termination letter.
Due to the change of weather, I had been constantly sick and couldn't work properly at all. I won't say that I was the best for this job but I have tried my best. As a refugee and immigrant, it is hard to find a relatable job considering my education level but I am ready to accept any kind of good offer considering the work atmosphere. I want a nice positive work atmosphere where not only I can meet good people, but also I get respect according to my work.
My dog Gigi is now 2 years old and her character changed a lot. She is more clam now and enjoys outside walks with me though she is still greedy when it comes to consuming any kind of food. She loves to play with her specific toys and loves to be with me. She feels happy when I stay in the room and spend time with her.
I usually stay busy with my work schedule so I don't get enough time for outdoor activities. Sometimes I go out in search of good food when I feel really hungry. The place where I am currently staying doesn't have a place for cooking. So, the only way is to eat the provided food or outside food. I sometimes can't eat the provided food so I have to buy food from outside.
Last month, someone invited me to a nice restaurant called "Loetje"; a very popular and expensive restaurant in Almere. I heard people go there because of their famous steak. Well, I never thought of going there because it's expensive but because my Dutch teacher invited me there, so I went there. I go to Dutch class once a week and I am the worst student among all of the talented students.
October is known as autumn so the weather was sunny and nice. Loetje is located nearby Almere Central Station and very close to the city center. On the weekend if anybody wants to go there, they need to reserve the table before but on weekdays, the restaurant is very calm and quiet. We went there to take our lunch.
We decided to sit outside because it was sunny. But their indoor space and dining area are quite nice and modern. From the outdoor sitting area, I was enjoying the outside scenario. The outdoor sitting area was completely empty.

First I ordered freshly squeezed orange juice instead of ordering something else. I like to try different types of drinks when I go to the restaurant.
For the main course, we ordered steak and potato fries. We ordered beef steak, medium rare. The meal is called Beef tenderloin 'Bali' with real Loetje sambal gravy.
The beef was really good, soft, and tasty. Obviously, it was cooked with a lot of butter. The meal was served within 15 minutes. The fries were okay but the gravy was a little bit salty because of the salty butter.
As I have said that this restaurant is very expensive so before going there twice, I will think twice no matter how good the food is. Probably when I will have a stable life, I will be visiting this restaurant again...

I thought if you're finishing up the contract, you don't need to quit. Just no need to sign or renew the contract. Nice place someone pick for lunch. The food looks great too.
It supposes to be working like that but they always manipulate me and try to keep me saying 1 month prior though I am on a "0" hour contract. I asked management about this and they said nothing gonna change. So, that's why I gave them notice...
The last time I was in a contract job which they keep telling us will give a renewal contract for a long time.
I got another job two weeks before and they only email the contract on the day before the last day. I didn't sign that and I just went in on my last day and I tell them I'm returning the laptop because it's my last day.
You did the right thing and I think this company is also trying to do the same. Besides, I don't wanna work with them anymore and I already understood that they are not going to give me a good contract. So I gave them time to find new people...

As unhappy and stressed you've been with that job, I think deciding not to renew the contract was a good idea. Perhaps you could send your CV to architectural firms, getting back to your true passion! It was so nice of your teacher to invite you to a lovely restaurant! I'm sure you were able to add a few new Dutch words to your vocabulary, and is a great way to practice speaking to someone, one-on-one, in a casual atmosphere rather than in a classroom with others. I am glad to here that Gigi is still doing well, too! Blessings to you, dear one! 💜
I started dropping my CV and this time I will be very careful before signing any contract. Because this job gave me a lot of lessons and I understood that it's very important to understand the contract before signing it.
I am learning something new everything and slowly started understanding Dutch words as well. It takes time and I am still working on my pronunciation but I hope I will be speaking dutch at some point...

As I read your blogs I got hungry. So delicious. It is okay to eat in a restaurant sometimes but we have to think about a budget especially nowadays the prices of goods getting higher and higher every day.
Exactly and that's why I took the invitation. I would never think of going to an expensive restaurant and take lunch...

I think you have definitely done the right thing in quitting your job. It doesn’t sound very nice and it is bound to be detrimental to your health. I hope you find something more suitable soon. 💞
For once, I was in doubt and confused thinking about whether I have taken the right decision or not. But later, I felt I don't have any energy to do this work and deal with various kinds of people who fled from different countries. It was hectic and not good for my mental health. I started looking for jobs and this time I will be very cautious before signing any contract...

If you manage to be at peace, that's enough. I wish him the best, really that kind of work is already hard enough. I worked in hotels and kitchens for about five years, and under normal conditions it is exhausting.
