Pocos han sido los dramas románticos que, pese a serlo, o a tener elementos poco creíbles típicos del género me han gustado tanto que he sentido que ha valido la pena verlos. De hecho, incluso algunos me han hecho verlos de nuevo, y atesorarlos cómo buenos recuerdos en mi memoria.
Lo curioso es que estos dramas son viejos en su mayoría, y que en la actualidad no dejo de encontrarme con cosas que son muy repetitivas y nada originales. Me imagino que desde hace tiempo definieron un camino que se tiene que recorrer a la hora de crearlos y todos lo siguen al pie de la letra.
No solo utilizan todos los clichés posibles del género, escenas absurdas y hasta las mismas actuaciones y personajes que se vienen repitiendo de serie en serie, sino que las historias en sí no tienen un propósito o un peso que dejen huellas en quienes las miran.
Y esta serie que traigo a continuacion peca de todo eso y más, pero aún así, debo admitir que me gustó mirarla y que me ayudó a reponerme del 'bloqueo' que sentía. En esta publicación les explicaré por qué. Saludos a todos y bienvenidos a mi blog. 🌻
There have been few romantic dramas that, despite being romantic, or having elements that are not very believable typical of the genre, I have liked so much that I have felt it was worth watching them. In fact, some have even made me watch them again, and treasure them as good memories in my memory.
The funny thing is that these dramas are mostly old, and nowadays I keep coming across things that are very repetitive and not original at all. I imagine that for a long time they have defined a path to follow when creating them and they all follow it to the letter.
Not only do they use every possible cliché of the genre, absurd scenes and even the same performances and characters that have been repeated from series to series, but the stories themselves have no purpose or weight to leave a mark on those who watch them.
And this series that I bring below is guilty of all that and more, but even so, I must admit that I enjoyed watching it and that it helped me to get over the 'block' I was feeling. In this post I will explain why. Greetings to all and welcome to my blog. 🌻

Esta serie se estrenó este mismo año y se puede ver en Netflix. Cómo actores principales tiene a Ahn Hyo-Seop, Sejeong, Kim Min-Kyu y Seol In-ha, a los cuales no había visto antes en ninguna producción.
Tiene 12 episodios de 1 hora y 1 minuto cada uno (excepto uno) y realmente ya no daba para más. 😂 sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que estas series suelen tener mínimo 16 episodios, y si son de otros géneros más.

Shin Ha-ri va a una cita a ciegas en reemplazo de su amiga. La idea, espantar al chico (guapo y rico) de una familia multimillonaria (🙄) el resultado, todo lo contrario.
El chico se aferra a la idea de que ella es la única que lo puede ayudar a disuadir a su abuelo de que están saliendo, para que deje insistir con que se case y para ello le hace una propuesta laboral, con contrato y todo.
Básicamente deben fingir ser pareja, el problema empieza cuando uno de los dos empieza a enamorarse del otro. Algo que no habíamos visto antes en ninguna producción 😂...
Shin Ha-ri goes on a blind date as a replacement for her friend. The idea, to scare away the (handsome and rich) boy from a multi-millionaire family (🙄) the result, quite the opposite.
The boy clings to the idea that she is the only one who can help him dissuade his grandfather from dating, so that he will stop insisting on getting married, and to do so he makes her a job offer, contract and all.
Basically they have to pretend to be a couple, the problem starts when one of them starts to fall in love with the other. Something we haven't seen before in any production 😂....

Me sorprendió lo tanto que este drama se parece a otros, prácticamente está forjado sobre la misma base. Tipos ricos, duros y a la vez vulnerables, con un pasado que oscuro que los persigue en el presente, obsesionados por el trabajo, exitosos y aunque aparentan ser malos en realidad son buenas personas y saben hacer TODO.
Lo que vi diferente y que me sorprendió es que incluyeron escenas de sexo (aunque un poco recatadas y hasta forzadas) porque esto no suele pasar en estos dramas. Me imagino la incomodidad de los actores y hasta de los televidentes coreanos 😂 (si estaban mirándola acompañados).
Los problemas que atraviesan estos tipos son un poco absurdos, y más las soluciones que se les ocurre para resolverlos. ¡Un contrato! Y uno que ya sabemos cómo va a acabar.
Desde la primera vez que ve a esta chica se da cuenta que siendo común y corriente tiene algo especial que le gusta, y como no sabe expresarse encuentra modos infantiles de tenerla cerca y compartir tiempo con ella, aunque desde un principio dejan bien claro que en sus tiempos todo lo que hace es trabajar.
Es algo raro de ver puesto que se supone él no estaba buscando ninguna relación, y lo poco que pudieron hacer creíble no lo hicieron. Me sorprendió que utilizaran el cliché de que ella, por usar maquillaje y peluca no sea reconocida por él y un montón de gente.
Porque la chica es nada más y nada menos que la empleada de este señor, así que se vuelve un drama romántico de jefe-empleada dónde ella tiene dos identidades y una desconocida. Todo esto no tiene sentido y el único modo de justificarlo es que es para agregarle más drama y comedia a esta historia.
I was surprised by how much this drama resembles others, it is practically built on the same foundation. Rich, tough yet vulnerable guys, with a dark past that haunts them in the present, obsessed with work, successful and although they appear to be bad guys they are actually good people and know how to do EVERYTHING.
What I saw differently and what surprised me was that they included sex scenes (although a bit demure and even forced) because this doesn't usually happen in these dramas. I can imagine the discomfort of the actors and even the Korean viewers 😂 (if they were watching it accompanied).
The problems these guys are going through are a bit absurd, and even more so the solutions they come up with to solve them. A contract! And one that we already know how it's going to end.
From the first time he sees this girl he realizes that being ordinary he has something special that he likes, and since he doesn't know how to express himself he finds childish ways to keep her close and share time with her, although from the beginning they make it clear that in his time all he does is work.
It's a weird thing to see since he wasn't supposed to be looking for any relationship, and what little they could make believable they didn't. I was surprised that they used the cliché that she, because she wears makeup and a wig is not recognized by him and a lot of people.
Because the girl is none other than this man's employee, so it becomes a boss-employee romantic drama where she has two identities and an unknown one. The whole thing makes no sense and the only way to justify it is that it's to add more drama and comedy to this story.
Esto es lo que salva este drama para gente como yo, y sí, dirán por qué los miras si no te gustan, y es ahí donde viene lo que para mí fue interesante y es que estaba súper bloqueada al momento de intentar ver series y películas.
He tenido meses agitados, de cambios radicales, incluso me mudé de país, tengo un nuevo horario de trabajo y muchos procesos nuevos y cosas que asimilar, y en todo esto siempre estuve viendo cosas más 'complicadas' que ya no soportaba ver.
Soy una creyente de que ver este tipo de cosas complicadas o con carga emocional te llenan a veces de una energía negativa, te agotan la mente y eventualmente te rehusas a mirarlas o dejas de disfrutarlas. Lo que hago en esas situaciones es ver algo más superficial o algo dirigido a un público infantil.
Pero aún así hay cosas superficiales que te hartan y me estaba pasando con esta serie. Eran demasiadas "casualidades" en la historia, un mundo tan amplio dónde solo se encontraban o cabían ellos dos, tanto en la empresa como fuera de ella, y de igual modo con las historias secundarias de los otros personajes.
La ambientación muy bonita, muy cuidadosa, todo estaba estéticamente 'perfecto', pero aumentaba la sensación de que todo era prefabricado, puesto meticulosamente cada cosa en su lugar, sin nada de naturalidad.
Así que sí, irremediablemente la abandoné y me costó continuarla. La serie que se suponía me ayudaría a superar el bloqueo y relajarme de los cambios y los problemas cotidianos me tenía cansada y molesta por tantas cosas absurdas. 😂
This is what saves this drama for people like me, and yes, they will say why watch them if you don't like them, and that's where the thing comes in that for me was interesting and that is that I was super blocked when trying to watch series and movies.
I have had hectic months of radical changes, I even moved country, I have a new work schedule and many new processes and things to assimilate, and in all this I was always seeing more 'complicated' things that I could no longer bear to see.
I'm a believer that watching this kind of complicated or emotionally charged stuff sometimes fills you with negative energy, drains your mind and eventually you refuse to watch it or stop enjoying it. What I do in those situations is watch something more superficial or something aimed at a child audience.
But there are still superficial things that make you fed up and it was happening to me with this series. There were too many "coincidences" in the story, such a wide world where only the two of them met or fit, both in the company and outside of it, and likewise with the side stories of the other characters.
The setting was very nice, very careful, everything was aesthetically 'perfect', but it increased the feeling that everything was prefabricated, meticulously put everything in its place, without any naturalness.
So yes, I hopelessly abandoned it and it was hard for me to continue it. The series that was supposed to help me get over the block and relax from everyday changes and problems had me tired and annoyed by so many absurd things. 😂
Hasta que, un día, la reanudé y esta vez pude terminarla (porque otra cosa que odio es dejar algo inconcluso). Todo gracias a la comedia. 🤷 Muchas veces era una comedia exagerada pero sería mentir si dijera que no me hacía reír a carcajadas, lo cual es súper inusual.
Incluso una vez (y en una escena normal) estaba a punto de llorar por algo y de pronto comencé a reír al mismo tiempo, por todas las cosas tontas que pasan en esta serie.
De verdad esto es algo que agradecí. A veces los problemas ni siquiera me dejan concentrar en lo que está en la pantalla, pero ver todas estas escenas locas me hizo despejarme por completo y así fue que pude darle paso a otras películas y series.
Con respecto a esta, pues, no creo que debería hablar ya de aspectos típicos como el final ni nada por el estilo, solo debería responder a una pregunta: ¿Volvería a verla?
No, no la volvería a ver. Lo que sí es que cuando dejé de lado la frustración de ver cosas tan repetitivas me entretuvo de verdad, me hizo reír y agradecer de que no sucediera ninguna tragedia dentro de esta historia, porque no lo iba a soportar. 😂 No más tragedias por favor.
Es algo muy "fresco" de ver, y ahora sí, después de ella, puedo concentrarme en cosas más serias. De verdad necesitaba eso...
Respeto a las personas a las que le gustan mucho este tipo de series y no les cuestionan nada, pero no me gustaría que la gente se basara en ellas para dar una opinión del cine coreano porque entre estas producciones de verdad hay cosas buenas que se pueden encontrar y que siento deberían tener más apoyo.
No solo hay historias buenísimas esperando ser encontradas, sino que están acompañadas de una buena ambientación y actuación. Cargadas de mensajes profundos y un sinfín de cosas que valen mucho la pena.
Sé que por este tipo de historias la gente no le tiene mucha fe a las producciones coreanas, pero... 🤷 soy fiel creyente de que hay otros géneros que tienen mucho que dar. Uno de mis favoritos es los que incluyen policías, detectives, fiscales.

Until, one day, I resumed it and this time I was able to finish it (because another thing I hate is to leave something unfinished). All thanks to the comedy. 🤷 A lot of times it was over the top comedy but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me laugh out loud, which is super unusual.
Even once (and in a normal scene) I was about to cry about something and suddenly started laughing at the same time, because of all the silly things that happen in this series.
This is something I really appreciated. Sometimes problems don't even let me concentrate on what's on the screen, but watching all these crazy scenes completely cleared my head and I was able to move on to other movies and series.
Regarding this one, well, I don't think I should talk about typical aspects like the ending or anything like that, I should just answer one question: Would I watch it again?
No, I would not watch it again. What I did find is that when I put aside the frustration of seeing such repetitive things it really entertained me, made me laugh and be thankful that no tragedy happened within this story, because I wasn't going to stand for it. 😂 No more tragedies please.
It's a very "cool" thing to watch, and now yes, after it, I can concentrate on more serious things. I really needed that...
I respect people who really like this kind of series and don't question them at all, but I wouldn't want people to rely on them to give an opinion of Korean cinema because among these productions there are really good things to be found that I feel should have more support.
Not only are there great stories waiting to be found, but they are accompanied by good setting and acting. Loaded with deep messages and a lot of worthwhile stuff.
I know that because of this kind of stories people don't have much faith in Korean productions, but.... 🤷 I'm a true believer that there are other genres that have a lot to give. One of my favorites is the ones involving cops, detectives, prosecutors.

A month ago I tried to watch a Korean drama and on the first episode I stopped at about 18 minutes in. I've been having a hard time getting hooked on these productions. It's also influenced by the fact that I chose one set in a high school and the characters were teenagers. Well, the characters because the actors are probably adults. Everything you mention that is repeated in many of these productions is what also keeps me from appreciating them. I have one on my list that I'll try to watch, but I've been lazy to start it. That's going to be my last attempt, if it doesn't hook me, no other Korean drama series is going to. hahaha.

I think I watch this one u yil the 4th episode but I didnt continue, maybe because of the plot or I have a priority drama that time. I love the lady in that drama, but I love her more on Today's Webtoon series.
