Caleb, un chico gay pronto a ir a la universidad, tiene un trágico rompimiento, producto a eso termina acostándose con un desconocido, para su desgracia ese chico lo contacta días después para informarle que dio positivo para VIH . Ahora, debido a un condón roto, Caleb deberá esperar tres meses para descubrir si fue contagiado con el virus, en ese tiempo no solo replanteará su vida, sino también conocerá nuevos amigos y un posible nuevo interés amoroso.

No se como comenzar, porque la película me pareció muy buena, me encanto.
Nuestro protagonista, es un chico ingenioso con un humor muy particular, además le cuesta confiar y abrirse a las personas, lo que lo hace tener muy pocos amigos. Esta situación lo arroja a un mundo desesperanzador, que siendo sinceros nadie esta preparado para enfrentar y él no es la excepción.
La película retrata la dura realidad que muchas personas enfrentan a diario, así como la discriminación producto a la ignorancia, claro comparado con la época donde se sitúa la historia ( y no hablo de sus orígenes donde era peor la desinformación) en la actualidad hay mas información y aceptación sobre el tema, aunque no cambia que todavía haya muchos prejuicios en su contra.
Aquí la familia cumple un rol muy importante, así como en la realidad, el apoyo que esta ejerce como base fundamental de la crianza afecta al individuo para siempre. Caleb tiene una relación complicada con su madre, ya que esta lo abandono porque él no cumplía con sus expectativas y se negaba a aceptar su preferencia sexual, además, su padre con quien tenia una sana cercanía, murió cuando este era un niño, estos dos hechos afectaron enormemente su formación, haciéndolo retraído y desconfiado. Los únicos con los que cuenta de apoyo son su amiga, su abuela paterna y el esposo de esta. Sin embargo, gran parte del tiempo se preocupa de que sea un simple remplazo de su padre, una carga o que su abuela lo deje debido a su avanzada edad.
La región también cumple una pieza fundamental, aunque en menor medida. Muchas creencias ser basan en el amor y la tolerancia. Sin embargo, critican cruelmente aquello que no este dentro de sus limites, poniendo a sus creyentes en situaciones difíciles donde deben elegir su religión o el amor hacia algo mas, en esta caso sus hijos. Nuestro protagonista sigue siendo creyente de cierta manera, aunque la religión lo separo de su madre no la culpa de los hechos, lo que demuestra su entendimiento del mundo, ya que después de todo es su madre quien eligió y lo demás fue una escusa para hacerlo.
Como cualquier chico de su edad, Caleb quiere encontrar el amor casi con desesperación, en especial ahora que tiene altas posibilidades de tener Sida, una enfermedad que representa para nuestro protagonista, el abandono total de la gente que quiere y la imposibilidad de tener pareja en el futuro, pues entiende el rechazo que pueden sufrir las personas afectadas por el virus. También eso enmarca el miedo al abandono que sufre y lo maximiza.
Algo que critica y refleja la cinta es las distintas penurias que viven miles de personas cada día en sus hogares, debido a sus familias, culturas, religiones y demás, por lo cual terminan ocultando su verdadero ser para cumplir lo que se espera de ellos, como hay casos donde se arriesgan a ser quienes son a costo de perder algo mas. Esta situación no es fácil y varia para cada quien, por lo cual es difícil de acabar.
Esperar nunca es fácil, en especial si el resultado de esa espera cambiara tu vida para siempre, limitando tus acciones y posiblemente tu futuro. Nadie esta preparado para aceptar una enfermedad con tantos prejuicios. Algo que también describe el filme es la culpa, a pesar de que fue un accidente, podemos ver como lucha con esa sensación de culpabilidad, cuando todo fue obra de la casualidad y no de la planeación. Creo que esto es algo que podemos entender muy bien, cualquiera a estado en una posición de frustración por un error, donde nos culpamos como castigo aunque esto no tenga nada que ver.
La actuación en general fue muy buena, trasmite muy bien la situación y los problemas que afectan a nuestros personajes, hace que enfatizar con ellos sea fácil en especial con nuestro protagonista, que en ese momento esta cargando con mucho.
Me gusta la música, pero lo que mas me encanto fueron su paleta de colores, destaca los tonos pastel, que sirven muy bien para describir y trasmitir los sentimientos que aquejan a nuestro protagonista. Hay muy buenas tomas y planos, en general tiene aspectos técnicos muy bien logrados.
Otra cosa que me encanto fue el final, la ambigüedad sienta bien, trasmitiendo un mensaje de superación, incluso si nuestro protagonista tiene o no VIH esto no detendrá su vida, ya que este decidió seguir adelante sin importar que.
En fin, recomiendo ampliamente este filme, es una historia fascinante y realista muy bien contada, que nadie se debería perder.

Our protagonist, is a witty guy with a very particular humor, he also finds it hard to trust and open up to people, which makes him have very few friends. This situation throws him into a hopeless world, which, to be honest, no one is prepared to face and he is no exception.

I think this is something we can understand very well, anyone has been in a position of frustration because of a mistake, where we blame ourselves as punishment even though this has nothing to do with it.
The acting in general was very good, it transmits very well the situation and the problems that affect our characters, it makes it easy to emphasize with them especially with our protagonist, who at that moment is carrying a lot.
I like the music, but what I loved the most was the color palette, it highlights the pastel tones, which serve very well to describe and convey the feelings that afflict our protagonist. There are very good shots and shots, in general it has very well achieved technical aspects.
Another thing I loved was the ending, the ambiguity feels good, conveying a message of overcoming, even if our protagonist has HIV or not this will not stop his life, since he decided to move forward no matter what.
In short, I highly recommend this film, it is a fascinating and realistic story very well told, that no one should miss.
