Homebound: A Movie Of Struggle

I have been watching very few movies in recent days as my schedules are getting tighter, and often I find posting on Hive very difficult in daily basis. And the crash in the market and fewer rewards with heavy efforts on my post demotivate me to write every day, which takes long hours. But I have my own challenge of writing in Hive each day of the Year 2025, and I am still on my way to fulfil my goal that I set last year. Writing low quality post is a different things that can be written 3/4 a day, but a quality post takes longer, and I have maintained my post quality with my own struggle. Though I am now much faster than last year, and next year I will be faster in my blogging sphere, with the enhancement in the post quality also.

So, today I am going to share a movie from Bollywood, which is not a pro-commercial movie as it has been released on the OTT platform recently. Very few movies are nowadays touching heart and this movie is a heart-touching movie that is not seen usually as they are not so profit maker for a producer. And so, usually the casting people are also remain less popular or at least not the trending actor/actresses love to work on such stories. The name of the movie is HOMEBOUND and the length of the movie is only 2 hours, which is in a comfortable zone as you can finish the movie very fast but the feelings will be a little bit longer if you have the same social surroundings as it shows, which is the same for the people from India, due to the religious sentiments! In Bangladesh, it is now more advanced than in India in this scenario, because we don’t have the strong cast systems anymore. But still the poor people are treated like less human which is a problem in this region of the world.

Homebound is a 2025 Indian Hindi-language drama film written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, based on a New York Times article by Basharat Peer from 2020. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. It follows two childhood friends who attempt to pass the national police exam. The film was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film for the 98th Academy Awards. – Wikipedia

The best thing that touched me is the strong friendship between a Hindu and a Muslim; the common fact is their poverty and struggle. And you know the truth is there are no religious issues among the common people, but issues are being created by the filthy politicians who have many benefits by doing such division among people for their personal gain in many forms. I am not going to discuss that point today. I have always Hindu friend in my High School and also as my roommate for two years. Then I had my best friend in university, who is also a Hindu, and my roommate for 4 years. So, the movie touched me, and I remember my past when we both searched for private tuition for our livelihood, as in our country, you can’t find the part times job for students 15 years back, which is now spreading in the area, but still slowly.

I can relate a lot of things in the movie as they have made it so raw with the real scenarios of life that can replicate so many people’s lives in this part of the year. Though my family was not so poor as here they represents but I know the scarcity of money in my family very closely. The scenes of the boarding mess system is the same in my life, as the room condition is always so pathetic, as you can’t find good rooms for the bachelor, as no one wants a bachelor as their lifestyles create many issues with the common family people.

The dirty buildings and unhealthy rooms are common scenarios of the common students, whether they are living in the boarding hostels or messes. Everywhere they are in an unhealthy situation just like the scene provides a glimpse in the movie that is so realistic. but life is full of fun here with the other students and friends to enjoy it at the fullest in the lack of many things. The excitement is so crazy living together and the enjoyment is always in full swing when it comes the time of any celebrations.

Life is always in want of many things, money and necessities are the constant issues for this life but others are always supportive that everyone try to help each other within their limited scopes. So, life becomes so easier here, but sometimes it can be broken as it is also a normal scenario for people to break their hope.

Hope is always there, but the movie ends with a touchy thing that I did not expect at all. It tried to correlate with the problem that arises with the miserable happenings during the Covid-19 pandemic. As the movie is inspired by a news report, the story needed such a touchy feeling at the end. I don't want to reveal all, but you will love the movie with the fantastic work by everyone. I hope there will be more movies like this one in coming days as movies are loosing their power to attract the peoples mind nowadays.

I hope you will watch this fantastic, heart-touching movie if you love to feel the struggles of the life in the Indian sub continent people in their life. Also it will show you the real, raw and genuine vibes of a common man's lifestyle and their struggle in a lively form with brilliant cinematography. If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them according to my knowledge. Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.

Wish you a great day!

Dear @tanzil2024 !
Hassan!
The world is always full of poor and suffering people.

Films from the Indian subcontinent have always portrayed human life in a straightforward manner.

Thanks for introducing me to this great movie!
