Even as a Muslim, our sources don't say they're the ones who built them for sure, just that they were there at the time of Prophets.
I wouldn't deny it if I was told they were made by non-humans.

Yeah we really don't know, though I like listening to theories, even the crazier ones.
I think one of the alternative theories (whether mildly crazy or totally crazy) will be proven true one day.
Then there are theories concerning the age of the structures. The alignment of these structures isn't like that for others.
