I've become more and more convinced that true growth happens during the lowest points of one's life. I can say the same thing about this chain, as it is clearly at a low point in terms of coin price and user activity. However, the devoted users here never seem to stop contributing, whether through content creation or development. It’s truly inspiring to see ongoing progress, even though participating might not feel worthwhile anymore due to the low value of Hive rewards.
But that hasn’t stopped people from continuing to build and contribute on this platform.

Just a few days ago, some developers launched a new onboarding initiative that benefits both the newly onboarded users and the ones who bring them in. I think it’s a well thought out system, aiming to train new users while rewarding them for engaging with the platform. It also includes a reward structure for the so-called "verified onboarders," which I think is really cool. I hope this initiative has a positive impact on the platform’s user base. The project is called checkinwith.xyz, and I encourage you to check it out if you have someone to invite to Hive.
In other parts of the world, Hive users are taking their own initiatives to spread awareness about the chain. I think these efforts are a great way to spark interest and potentially bring in new users and investors.
Earlier today, I saw a post about a group of Hive users promoting Distriator at an event called Beers and Bitcoin if I’m not mistaken.
Personally, I think this is a fantastic way to promote Hive and HBD by giving people a chance to use crypto in real-world settings, such as buying food and drinks. That hands-on experience helps people see Hive and HBD as legitimate currencies, both for storing and exchanging value. It’s amazing to see this happening, especially during a time when Hive’s price performance is lagging, even in the middle of a bull run.
Still, I hope things turn around in terms of price action in the coming months. It would be frustrating to see this chain fade into obscurity despite its strong use case and blockchain technology.
I believe the best way to support Hive is simply to keep posting regardless of the price. There’s not much else we can control. Coins that are getting attention now are mostly the big or trendy ones. For example, I saw that Solana is running a marketing campaign on YouTube, rewarding creators with SOL for participating. The prize pool is massive, and I think it's a smart way to push crypto into the mainstream.
I just wish Hive had done something similar back when we still had a large and valuable fund. Unfortunately, that’s not the direction things took. Then again, we never really know what works until we try it. Everything feels wrong when it doesn’t work regardless of how good the idea was, while things feel right when they work even if the solution didn’t make much sense at the time. Funny how that works, LOL.
Hive's true strength lies in the passion and persistence of its community, even during tough times. As long as we continue to create, share, and support one another, the platform will keep moving forward. Let's keep building the future we believe in—one post at a time.

Gotta be honest, running ad campaigns is not it. This was done since way back in 2016 steemit days. It doesn’t work in any long term way. It’s just the truth. I love this place, but price wise we are obviously headed to .10 cents at least next bear market. I’ll be posting and i’ll be here 💯. But frankly with things like the DHF printing far too much which in turn puts pressure on Hive via the stabilizer when that HBD is sold. Well it’s issues like this that are why many in our crypto space stay far far away. That’s just what I’ve been told directly. We have to clean up issues here before it’s even attractive for others to wanna come. We are a chain that’s shrunk active account wise and it’s our own fault as a collective. We will keep making new cycle lows below the last bear low (November 2022) like we have in 2024 and right now in 2025 while bitcoin surges and most alts are well above there 2022 lows while we are well below it. I again love this place and will be here daily. That said i understand why most aren’t interested. They get chased away if they don’t wanna dox themselves by HW, and our community fund is crushing us via DHF then stabilizer… not to mention many of our own old school accounts left over this issue recently. We gotta fix our house first. Then think of ways to promote it, but ads ain’t it. Do I have a perfect solution in general? Not really. I just know if I saw this place as a newbie now, I’d keep moving. HW spends more time harassing legit accounts instead of only focusing on fraud and corruption. We are a decentralized community that has a few whales voting to support costs 90% here can’t stand. People will say buy more stake and change things. I just don’t think that’s realistic. There are people milking this chain and it’s a shame. !PIZZA !ALIVE

Thanks for the honest feedback and for sticking with Hive regardless. You're absolutely right... before we grow, we need to get our fundamentals in order. Much respect for your consistency and insights.
I am not sure if I like those automatic "onboarding" apps like checkinwith.xyz. There was another one recently (forgot it´s name), where during a crypto conference in Mexico(?) also tons of new usernames were added. Probably 99% of them won´t return, are not even aware about the potential of Hive.
Key is that every new user has a buddy that follows up actively and helps and motivates through the "valley of despair" after the intro post. And those apps don´t help with that.
I agree that mentorship is key... apps can help onboard, but human support is what drives retention. Great point.
A thing I often see on hive is complaining without an alternative solution provided. @stayoutoftherz i have zero desire to argue, but I get confused by someone complaining about new onboarding solutions when for years the complaint has been that onboarding is not easy on Hive.
So this comment about not liking the checkinwith.xyz app is a bit baffling.
I can only assume the app is not understood and thus complaining is easier than exploring what it is.
I’d like to take a minute and explain a bit the app. As i think you would like it and maybe even be a perfect trusted hivean to use it.
Not everyone can use the checkinwith.xyz app. Only vetted and verified hiveians can use it too onboard.
The people who are onboarded may not stay, but there is no doubt they are real humans and not bots. That already is a big win.
Those who have been given ‘trusted’ onboarding status to use this app would more than likely be better placed to nurture new users through the first months on hive. So this checkinwith.xyz has this ‘buddy’ you speak of to walk people through that valley of despair, that’s practically the point of the app. It’s giving trusted hiveians a tool to easily bring in real humans to the community.
How exactly is this app a bad thing?? Because 99% won’t stay??? So what is the solution? Onboard no one and have a 100% retention rate of nobody?
You missed my point, the app itself is not bad, I did check it, in fact it is awesome.
But the best app is useless when the newly onboarded users are not taken care of and babysitted in their next steps. Without this support - which is time consuming and requires also a true willingness from the mentee - there will be just another inactive user.
I checked some random new users (e.g. here), most of them were not even followed by their onboarders, and none had done a single comment, upvote let alone a longer intro post or follow up post (apart a few distriator-generated copy&paste posts).
If that is the users you want, then I have to tell you: we need growth, but a real sustainable growth. And I have no good solution for this.
I would need to say more than I have time now, but the solution is not to add yet another app. Soon we have more apps than active users!
I can not speak for everyone who is using the checkinwith.xyz,
But in our current use case we are attempting to onboard with a utility first approach. We are trying to get people in the town to get accounts so that they can get the benefits of the distriator rebates.
Our current focus is not on the blogging aspects. We are talking about blogging, but I am saying to people I onboard to consider these accounts there spend accounts.
We are encouraging the purchase of HBD so that they can have access to the rebates.
This is an iteration.
We don’t know if it will work.
But our idea is, get people enjoying the utility of hive tools and maybe they want to learn and explore more.
So far we have moved over 200$ of HBD into the system in these trials, and we really are only in testing phase.
The month of July we will move into full action phase.
We are tracking metrics and will give reports throughout this trial.
I’m interested in retention for sure.
I guess a question is, if the person is buying hbd and using the spend hbd tools, but not posting blogs… are they still considered retained? Is this not also good pumping hbd spending?
We are committed at this Hive Hub experiment to keep trying things, keep iterating, keep publishing what we discover.
But we are here, in the mix, really trying and learning as we do.
My hope is that others do their own experiments, try their own way of onboarding. At the end of the day…. We need more people’s actions and less of people’s opinions and words.
That may seem like a jab, but my intention is to say a true statement and not point it at you directly.
I appreciate the fact that different people are trying different things. E.g. I help @samostically onboarding new chess players on Hive, so far I have created app. 15 accounts, several of them have started blogging and are playing for our Hive chess team which is a completely different approach to create some visibility.
Nice, that sounds a great way to onboard. I really like niche reasons to onboard, so a chess player onboarding initiative sounds brilliant to me✊
If you want to support us, I'd be grateful. You can see their introduction posts here
https://peakd.com/@sam.chess
Also we have tournaments and also I’m starting one early next month. All aimed at player retention.
You can support us @sam.chess or follow my curation trail to support them and also increase the prize pool.

By creating accounts, we learn how to create accounts.
By onboarding people, we learn to onboard people.
By inboarding people, we learn to retain them.
By making friends, we encourage them to stick around.
Yes, any system can be abused. But I think its worse to do nothing. We have to try things, iterate and learn.
here is a feed of all the newbies who were onboarded by such methods. maybe you can help us vote for some of them. they are all real people, with real, proof of person checkins done. all keenly waiting votes from whales. https://ecency.com/@pioneersupporter/feed
I am happy to upvote any original content, but so far there was not too much from those users in the last week!
The good thing I would say is that there are many who just love the platform and use it for what it was designed regerdless of the price of the token or the earnings. However, the reality is also that too many are here mainly to extract value and get away with it. If anything, it needs to become way harder for those with no investment and a high KE number to get any rewards.
What if I have multiple accounts? What if I sell the HIVE to build on Hive?
Totally agree... long-term users who engage for the right reasons make the biggest difference. We need more real commitment over extraction.
Devoted users building, even now! 🐎 That's the spirit! True growth indeed 💪
Yes! It’s that quiet persistence that keeps Hive alive. Let’s keep building. 💪
The DHF is still there... I'd argue it wouldn't be a great use of it, but sillier things can be funded :D
You're right, the DHF is still active. It’s all about choosing initiatives that truly move the needle for Hive long-term.
The hive price is low this time. A possible opportunity to grab more and build stake ?
It’s obviously going far lower. I’m team Hive through & through but it’s obviously we are crashing the upcoming bear market well below teens.
If you believe in Hive. Yes
My vote power is below what I wanted to vote this post so here’s a tip!

Keep the spirit and continue building. Tough man live through tough times!
personally been away from Hive for liks 2 years. looking back, I should have stayed and just carry on with the content creation. It is more of a testament for myself on my own conviction that such habit can eventually create more valuable output. My verdict is, just continue regardless of the ups and downs. The output of a human is more important than ever with the advent of AI tools.
That reflection is spot on. Sticking with content creation is often more about self-growth than anything else. Welcome back!
Thanks mate! yea, the output itself is a training process for me TO BE HONEST, to be really sharp and able to process info coming in. Its a skill, especially useful for a coaching career like me.
Posting Daily this year! Doubled down on Hive. I want this @hivebuzz Badge! 💪🏻
Hive on!
That HiveBuzz badge is a great goal... daily posting takes dedication! Best of luck, and yes, the current price may be a chance to build more stake. Hive on!

I posted daily one year but didn’t account for it only counting in London time zone so I didn’t get it 😔. Now I know and account for it. !PIZZA !ALIVE
It's crazy. Yearly Posting must be a tough task. Good luck to you
I posted daily due two years but didn’t account it goes by London time zone not local one so I ended up missing it by two days from posting at different times. Oh well 🤷🏼♂️ !PIZZA !ALIVE
Thanks! First time I am working on this challenge. ✊🏻
