Are you new to Splinterlands and searching for some advice, then you found the correct series! In this Beginner’s Guide Series, we are discussing things that new players of Splinterlands should know or try to learn. In this specific episode I wanted to talk about the low mana cards that are doing the best job for me! These cards are best being used if the battle is offering you very little mana in general or if there is a ruleset of only using cards below 4 mana. Most of these cards will even be neutral ones which means that you could use them in almost any battle. With that being said, if this article motivated you to start playing this amazing game, then feel free to join the fun over the following link:

Low Mana Cards At Your Service

First things first, I need to mention Uraeus again. I know that I mentioned this card in one of my recent posts as one of the best cards to get in the beginning and this is just another reason to get this amazing card! I am definitely not looking forward to the day where this card is getting thrown out of the modern battles. So why is this card such a favorite for me? Well, not only is it costing 3 mana but it comes with the Sneak ability and already on level 2 with 2 attacking points! This card has the ability to destroy entire teams from the back if used correctly!

Next up, we need to talk about a card that is very underrated in my opinion. Venari Spellsmith is one of my most played cards when it comes to little mana available. Why? Well, the reason is that in combination with Obsidian, this card is dealing 2 magic damage every turn. On top of that it has the Dispel Ability which influences the opponent’s ability to heal itself. Last but not least, if you are able to level this card up, it comes with a good amount of health and has the Ability to contribute to your success rate in general!

Staying with the Venaris, we have another one! Venari Marksrat might not seem like your every day card that you choose blindly in a battle with little mana, but trust me, this card is definitely worth it! What makes this card special is its Martyr Ability. If you are climbing up the ranks, you will come up against people who do like to use their Sneak Attackers. Put this card in the back and see how your other cards get boosted once this Venari gets defeated. In my opinion the ultimate sacrifice!

Very strong tank to use if you do not have a lot of mana to spend is Xenith Monk. Once you have this card on level two it gets the healing ability and because your opponent will not have strong cards either, this card will be able to survive a good amount of rounds thanks to the self healing ability. With Tarsa this card can even boost its attack which will make him a very good attacker as well. With 6 health on level one this card is definitely a great tank to have and absorb some hits!

A very similar strategy is being followed by the Antoid Platoon. If there is not much mana to be spend, the monsters are usually weak in attacking power. This means that a Shield Ability might actually absorb a good portion of the attacks without leaving any damage! In my opinion this card is perfect for these low mana battles because it is also dealing some good damage itself. And with 2 armor and 3 health on level one this card is definitely not a weak link in your team!

Last but not least we need to talk about a card tha I love to use. Time Mage is actually a very nice card to use in these low mana battles. Especially on level 3 this card starts to bloom because it reaches the two attacking point mark. Because she is a magic attacker and has 4 speed she will most likely attack first. By slowing down your opponents additionally, this card will be very hard to target. In my opinion a must have card for every beginner!

Some Of The Cards In Action!

In the following battle you will se most of the cards that I just mentioned. Pay close attention what I meant when I said that the Shield and Self Heal Ability are very important in the low mana battles. On top of that you can witness how Martyr is actually boosting our Spellsmith to become the strongest card on the battle field!
