Are you new to Splinterlands and searching for some advice then you found the correct series! In this Beginner’s Guide Series, we are discussing things that new players of Splinterlands should know or try to learn. In this specific episode I want to highlight a few strategies that I like to use while playing certain Elements. In a previous guide we talked about the Sneak Fire combo as well as the Taunt Life Combo. In this particular article I want to talk about the Annoying Water Combo. If you found this article but are not playing this game yet, then feel free to join over the following link:

Water Miss Combination
This is a special kind of build that will drive every opponent crazy. When you are facing one of these builds get ready for some very annoying misses on your side. In this particular build we are utilizing the fact that most of your opponents monsters will not have a high amount of speed. This is why using the Water summoner Kelya is a great choice as she gives your monsters an extra speed point. Furthermore, we are placing Serpent of Eld as our tank. Not only does this card has 3 Melee attach with a good amount of health but it also has 4 speed. The cherry on the cake is its ability: Dodge. This ability increases the chance of dodging attacks from your opponent. This ability combined with the high speed is really one of the most annoying combinations you can face.
What is making this combination even more annoying is the fact that we will support our tank with additional healing and in some cases repairing abilities. For this to work we are utilizing the Merdaali Guardian as well as Scavo Hireling. These cards make sure that if our tank gets occasionally hit, that it will quickly recover from the hit. This makes out tank essentially unbeatable. Furthermore, we can add some additional armor to our monster by using the Venari Wavesmith. This ensures a longer life span and we ae able to deal some magic damage as well.
With this in mind we can fill our board up with some heavy attackers, preferably magic attackers, as this is the most powerful attacking style in this game. My cards of choice are almost always Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn if the mana restrictions are allowing it. A less costly alternative is always Deeplurker that can be thrown almost anytime into the mix.
Example Battles:
In both battles the proposed strategy worked as planned. We were able to dodge a few attacks while keeping our tank alive for a few rounds. This made it possible to destroy our opponent’s tank and therefore expose his support unit to our attacks. With each round his attacking force got weaker which allowed our tank to stay alive even longer. Especially in the second battle the supporting units did a great job to maintain our tank alive and healthy! As you will see the dodging part could be very annoying to the opponents and is definitely a weapon that I don’t see being used very often.

With this being said, I hope that I was able to show you another valuable strategy that hopefully helps you to win some difficult games a long the line. Let me know whether you have a different favorite strategy or which element I should cover next. Feel also free to check out the previous Guides for further help and inspirations! 😊
