Are you new to Splinterlands and searching for some advice, then you found the correct series! In this Beginner’s Guide Series, we are discussing things that new players of Splinterlands should know or try to learn. In this specific episode I wanted to talk about the current state of Splinterlands. We will look at some of the in-game assets and discuss whether it still makes sense to start playing this game. Furthermore, we will take a look at the future roadmap and why I think that this game is more than just a game in the future. Last but not least, we will draw a conclusion that should motivate everyone who is still not playing the game to jump into the fun of doing so! With that being said, if this article motivated you to start playing this amazing game, then feel free to join the fun over the following link:

Price of DEC & SPS

Let’s start off by looking at the in-game assets and what their price development looks like. Admittedly, it does not look overly amazing. The prices of SPS as well as the card market prices are really on a year low. Especially the card prices do hurt a bit because amazing cards are going for almost nothing at the moment. The SPS market seems to be overly saturated and is not showing many signs of climbing back up. At the moment we are currently at 1.7 cents per token.

The DEC chart lokks a bit more stable and the recent changes in the economy are slowly showing that DEC is starting to become the hard asset that it was always supposed to be. Still it is a bit off of the peg that it wants to be. So with these observations, is this really still a game worth playing?

Well, in my opinion this is a hard yes! Look, I know the numbers are not looking overwhelming but this trend can be translated to every other crypto project out there. Right now we are in a phase where the future gains are being created and it looks like the in-game assets are currently on sale! Especially great cards and summoners are becoming dirt cheap and people will be wondering why they did not took some time to investigate this special NFT market. But what does make me think that this project will be successful in the future?

How Is The Game Looking?

The answer is pretty simple: The game and the community around it! I think every game lives from the players that are playing it and by the amount of posts on Hive I can see that the player base is keeping strong. What I also must say is that not every change that the development team is doing is great, but that is only human and I think that there is a very solid and healthy discussion going on. Furthermore, there are weekly updates on the roadmap which is definitely not present in every crypto project, that is for certain!

Just looking at the roadmap, there are several things to be looking for and several great entry points for new players to come in. It looks like the whole space is morphing and we are a great part of it. But my most important point is that it still is fun to play the game. Of course I am not playing it for 5 hours straight but there are definitely a lot of things that can be done. From Brawls over battles to market card analysis: there is something for everyone and everyone can decide how much time they put into the game. From my perspective this is one of the greater sides of Splinterlands.

Conclusion

To conclude this short but effective update on why people should play this game, I can only say that I believe in a bright future here. Not only will the next bull run accelerate the prices of all the in-game assets but it will also help out people to get a separate income stream! On top of that the game has different angles to play and offers certain amount of skill development. All in all I must say that everyone should do their own research and if they think that this game is not for them: fair enough. From my side I can only say that I enjoy playing it every second! 😊
