The LeoFinance Optimization Progress Over The Last 10 Weeks

I have published keyword reports once per week for the the last 10 weeks so we can easily track the progress and see the results of our labor. Anyone who've been participating in the whole "Optimize LeoFinance For Organic Growth"-thing knows that it doesn't really include hard work in that sense to make some minor content optimization though, so labor might be the wrong word..

Just let’s call it the results for the time we've been putting in instead.

For those of you who've been following the reports closely should already have been able to see the difference from one report to the other, but it's time for a comparision. I want everyone to see and understand the importance of optimziation and to show you the results is likely the best idea.

That being said, we started out 10 weeks ago with 378 keywords that brought us real, unique traffic from Google. We have seen a steady increase week after week and we're up to an amazing 1700 keywords after just 10 weeks of doing this. That's ~1500 more keywords that have been driving people to LeoFinance from Google. All due to what people are searching for online.

I have included more details over time in the reports so we started out with just organic search positions, volume, cpc and traffic percentage in the beginning. The last report contained all the above, keyword difficulty, costs percentage, previous position, expected monthly visitors, last update of keywords, keywords that dropped and page views from simpleanalytics as well.

Our "famous" andrei jikh portfolio post was driving the majority of the organic traffic 10 weeks ago with an incredible 23.33% of all the traffic coming from Google. Then came all the CPC (paid traffic) from who I suppose are @khaleelkazi and things changed quite a bit over the next coming weeks.

However, the "andrei jikh portfolio" still stood for 7.72% of all the organic traffic coming to LeoFinance during week 10. Without paid traffic.

The post we got most organic traffic from was the dogeland post, but it was only fourth in the list of costs for paid traffic. That simply means that it was able to drive a good chunk of traffic without anyone paying for it.

The "gencoin" post is the post that has the highest costs, at 24.37% of all the costs, and it has brought 16.86% of all the traffic. The "Is Shiba Inu coin a scam or legit?" post on the other hand, has only pulled in 2.57% of the traffic meanwhile having 15.96% of the costs.

The costs I am talking about is simply put the CPC, which means cost per click. You pay a certain amount per click and you obviously want good traffic, but you also want quantity if you are looking for something to grow.

That being said, you can't measure success just by looking at numbers like this when it comes to CPC. In fact, it's usually a good idea to go with trends and things that are hot, so it might be well-worth the money you spend for traffic. My personal opinion is to stop spending money on traffic for the Shiba Inu-post though. At least for now.

I only started to track the number of users expected to visit the website a few weeks ago so there aren't that much of a difference yet. We started out at 352 unique website visitors coming from search engines 3 weeks ago and we're up to a guesstimation by SEMRush of 427.

That's 427 real, unique users in a month, if the organic traffic stays relatively the same. That equates to ~14 people per day coming from Google. Imagine a few months from now when we will see hundreds of people per day coming from Google because they found your content when they searched for something..

  • Pretty cool, right?

How can ~14 people become hundreds in "a few months" you might ask? - The easy answer is obviously that it's impossible for me to know the amount of traffic we will get months from now. However, everything adds up and the more keywords we rank for, the more content will be visible for people.

So, with our current progress, ranking ~1500 keywords in 10 weeks, I am sure we will be up to a total of 2500 or even 3000 keywords in another 10 weeks. Perhaps even more than that.

  • That depends on us.

We are working on bringing these numbers up with some SEO-focussed content creation campaigns.

Hey @flauwy, more details on this, please. What are you guys planning? We would be happy to help!

I am working on a concept for a Splinterlands guide contest, that focusses on optimizing SEO while also giving quality help with the game itself. This way we can drive more traffic from all the people that are now searching for Splinterlands. This was Khal's idea after he saw what traffic we are already getting via financial posts about the game that were published on LeoFinance.

Not sure how you can help. Maybe give me some guidelines for good SEO, besides meaningful title, some keywords and links to other LeoFinance articles.

Awesome idea. Can't get enough of those Splinterlands posts, guides, tips, hacks and everything else. The game is trending everywhere and we must ride the wave.

Not sure if you know but there is a project called @crypto-guides by @forexbrokr where Leo Community members contribute and write blogs on different sections of a guide. Each week we choose a coin/blockchain and complete its basic guide.

We have recently finished a guide on Splinterlands and DEC. Maybe this will give you some ideas on the sections you can include. Obviously, there are no rules and you can add or remove sections at your convenience.

Btw I and of course others can help you by writing some of the sections of your guide. We can optimize it together with different keywords.

Regarding SEO Tips, @hitmeasap and @forexbrokr can help you out.

That sounds really interesting.. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This sounds awesome :)

Really interested in hearing your plans for how you're going to do this.

That is terrific. @splinterlands is a great way to get some attention right now since it is so hot.

I would presume axie infinity is also although that content is being created outside Leofinance it seems.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We could definitely benefit by more axie infinity content. Splinterlands and axie infinity are driving crazy traffic.

Awesome. SEO works. Period! We need to keep on adding more to it. I personally like to follow current trends mostly. They have the ability to bring spikes. At the same time, we need to push out evergreen content as much as we can. That is a long play and totally worth it.

we need to push out evergreen content as much as we can.

Indeed!

Evergreen content will lead to growth automatically over time, while trending stuff can be incredible for bursts or traffic and immediate results. A balance between the two would be optimal for a place like LeoFinance.

We just need to keep posting the optimized links especially in @leomarkettalk.

Just get a ton of things out there for the spiders to latch onto.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

That's the idea! Adding more backlinks to different stuff will only help us in the long run.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Awesome job, goes to show you what some effort puts into the site for SEO but also everyone social sharing as well drives some serious traffic. Up and UP!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

A lot of little things by many people really adds up. This is how it works. We just need more content and posts/comments coming out of the Leofinance interface.

Optimizing as much as we can could really take things to another level.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Awesome job. I didn't realize Khal was paying for moving traffic to the site. You guys are doing amazing work and if I write any articles on those topics, I will make sure to link some of these SEO posts.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I didnt either but it is a great way to get some added clicks.

We need to keep linking as many posts as we can, SEO or otherwise especially if they are optimized.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Traffic, traffic, traffic! :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I haven't had it confirmed by @khaleelkazi, but I can't really see a reason for the "average user" to pay for traffic to LeoFinance.

Great update. It is terrific that we keep adding a couple hundred keywords a week. That is rather impressive considering where we started.

It would be great to see what they are although I guess it is immaterial since they change so quickly.

All we can do is to keep posting new relevant content and try to highlight things as best we can.

Links to other Leofinance content within here is also a good way to keep the search spider bouncing around for a while.

You mean all the keywords? - It doesn't matter too much as there usually just a "handful" of keywords who actually brings "decent" traffic so to speak. We don't have much organic traffic to LeoFinance yet either, but I'll let you in on the details in my next post.

I'll give you keywords, our top pages and I can even throw in some "content ideas" about splinterlands & axie infinity just for fun. ;)

Nice update.
I use markdown for titles and subtitles, keywords and links. This week I added bullet points and bolded keywords. Each week I add a different SEO element. I think I will post another guide summarizing quick SEO tips.
I hustle a fair amount on Twitter
