It's been quite a while since my last post - around 2 months. The real world has had me very distracted, and combining that with some serious writers block, I've just been MIA for a bit. To try get back in to the swing of things, I thought I'd highlight an upcoming airdrop I'm targeting.
Shade Protocol.
The first is a new project I'm looking to get involved in is called "Shade Protocol", being launched on the Secret network eco-system. For those that are not aware, Secret ($SCRT) is a privacy focused platform, built on a Cosmos SDK based blockchain, with a rapidly growing eco-system. #IBC is coming, so at some point these privacy features will have a link to the entire Cosmos IBC eco-system, including #ATOM, #OSMOSIS and soon #TERRA.
From what I can tell, the SHADE token will be the staking and governance token, as well as a mint token (along with SCRT) for a privacy focused algorithmic stablecoin to be called SILK. It looks like Mainnet is targeted for Q1 2022, with new features like leverage and derivatives to follow.
How to participate:
The full details about how the airdrop will work can be found in this blog post from the team. The best thing is that it will be allocated based on snapshots beginning on the 7th November. That gives people plenty of time to position if you are keen to get involved.
Here are my highlights from how the drop will work:
- First snapshot Nov 7.
- Will cover 36 days of staking from then.
- 1.45 million total airdrop - total supply of SHADE will be 10 million.
- 36% of the airdrop to stakers of Secret (SCRT)
- 32% to ATOM stakers.
- 32% to LUNA stakers.
- Can earn from each of the above pools.
- Bonuses if you stake outside the top 10 validators on each chain (encouraging decentralization)
- Don't stake to 0% commision nodes or importantly, exchange nodes (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken for example).
- Self custody will matter, coins staked on exchanges won't be included.
I've personally been aware of Secret for a while, but have not gotten on board yet. I do plan to position for this airdrop with both ATOM and LUNA stake (I'm currently in the process of moving/restructuring some of my portfolio to add LUNA). I'd encourage you if you have assets in these chains to read the official blog post linked above, and keep an eye out for more details:

I'm back now, the real world has been getting in the way, but I've got some time off now and getting back into the swing of things.
I'm not 100% sure why they have put that as a recommendation, maybe they prefer validators that are actively participating and growing their stake by contributing, not just getting lots of delegations from people looking for the cheapest option. Dunno, just a guess.
Can't wait till ATOM and LUNA are linked with IBC, that should be a major growth driver for both platforms.

There is time if you can, but it's impossible to get involved in everything in crypto, best to pick which eco-systems you are most interested in and focus on them to begin with.
Not financial advice, but I think both ATOM and LUNA have very bright futures, and lots of upcoming airdrops in the coming months.

Can't go wrong there. Often the minimum is 100 staked Luna though. Missed out on the STT air drop and now that's hit nearly $6
Luna is a new one for me. I started a major restructure of my portfolio about a week ago, with the specific intention of adding a decent LUNA holding to the mix. Between it and ATOM there is likely to be a bonanza of new projects to get into.
100 LUNA... hmmm will have to see if I can make that happen.

I jumped into Luna just before the previous Pump so picked up quite a few at $AUD25
There is so much on their network. Have you seen Anchor protocol yet. If you stake Anchor you'll get Nexus air drops.
I've done a few write ups of Luna launches. They're coming thick and fast.
Mine is another good one. You want to Stake a minimum of 1000 of them as they are a launch pad where you stake UST for a period and get an insane APY
Cool, will dive in to it all in the coming weeks and skim back through your posts for some alpha. I have not looked at anything luna yet.
Will be so easy to shift between Luna and cosmos once their IBC connection is finalised.

You have been very education for me, I explored about Akash Network only seeing why this fellow is talking so much about it, then I got convinced its a great project, on the way to build web 3 - where things are decentralised from cloud launch, storage, hosting and a lot more...
Its very thrilling to think of the big picture and we are still in the early days...I don't think Akash is that well known in the mainstream.
This Cosmos has so much going on man!! ...that terra built using cosmos skd and now you say this secret network too...that's cool that our undervalued Cosmos Blockchain is getting recognision and ignosion.

I really find your analysis of putting 1 and 1 together pretty good...and I will check this secret network stuff...I have been thinking of Monero and Secret network... I have profits taken from Solana that I can invest around to explore terra, secret network and have some Monero...
Thanks for reminding my to do goals... I am thinking what to do in my crypto work time everyday now with Polkadot's parachain launch and this I have quite a lot of things to do and hopefully all this will be exciting and insightful, rather than just check crypto prices, will it dip further, when will it to buy the crypto back...god dips take a lot of time to come, good dips...this time dips in cosmos not come, wanted to rebuy at 25$...
not sure it will come, and solana at 100 to 80 wanted to buy, dip not coming...took profits and they all are lying around and I need funds to check out terra and secret network so will use these funds. Anyway.
There is so much to keep up with, thats for sure. I took a bit of time off and so much has happened, I'm struggling to catch up. I've come to the conclusion that the base assets of the eco-systems are best for staking - ATOM, LUNA and so on. Many new airdrops to boost returns and give a foot in the door for new projects.

I'm not across the details of how Secret's privacy features work to be honest. It's states its a privacy chain, but I haven't deep dived in. Main difference to begin with is it's P.O.S. not P.O.W. Beyond that, I'm still learning and can't say yet how privacy is built in.
SHADE will be a new token and project built on top of Secret, so I guess it will inherit it's privacy features.
Will try to deep dive into Secret in a future post.

It'll be LUNA staked on Terra Station I believe. Just avoid the top 10 validators, or exchanges.
Haven't seen it on Osmosis yet, can't wait till LUNA and UST are on there, should drive volume and TVL for OSMO significantly.
Did you get the JUNO airdrop? I got a bit, and its going ok so far. Moving it into Osmosis as part of my restructure.
