I am very happy with this recent acquisition of this lightly circulated Mexican coin, it came with a modest premium above spot price, reasonable shipping, a retailer discount, eBay bucks and located on my side of the border sparing me the cross-border risks and issues.

This coin introduced me to a new historical figure in my study of Mexican history, 33rd President Francisco Ignacio Madero González who finally ousted from office the corrupt and entrenched six-time Incumbent President Porfino Diaz who resorted to underhanded tactics such as jailing opponents like Madero before the election and massive election fraud to remain in power. In 1910, One hundred years following Father Hidalgo’s Revolution for Independence, Madero’s leadership sparks a violent revolution that forced Diaz to resign and flee to Spain in 1911.

Sister Teresa D’Mordecai: The Real Monster- Part 12

Josè reacted and lunged at Mother Superior as she tosses the cube into the glowing embers. Eva screams as the two falls into heap. At the same time Argénta hobbles in and knocks over the stove spilling the hot coals trying to recover the item. "Owww!" Squealed the French nun as she picked out the burning cube with her bare fingers before smothering it in her skirt.

Sister Argénta could only present the burnt remains of the crumbled cube despite her cautious handling. Teresa's eyes turned downward then slumps back in her bed disappointed.

A seething senior Nun stands up incredulous to her associates around the bed chamber with an accusatory stare. "How dare you interfere with talent God had charged me to do his work!"

Josè imposed himself between Teresa and the Mother Superior, "You over-reacted far too impulsively Sister Eva. You once vaulted on the purpose of St. Angélesta is of supportive and the encouragement of souls, contemplative and compassionate to all who need compassion whether Royalist or Patriot. I reject your methods. "

The Book of the Despised warned of those that bear and wield the cross. To be wary of those Christians that have their faith upon their creator are far more dangerous than those who are of self righteous pride in their own eyes, hearts and in their objects they worship, hope for the later.

"And you General Morelos have been deceived by that demon! Blinded by her seductive words. She has clearly divided us so choose your words carefully who you wish to side with, God or the devil!"
She lifted her St. Horace crucifix in an uncouth manner at the General clearly in a hostile intention.

Josè motions the Cross but refused to kiss the St. Horace as an admission and acquiesce to the Eva's accusation. A common mistake that sent many innocent souls into the jaws of a contrived inquisition.
"I resent your implication Sister Eva, you nor Satan himself have power over me... your behavior is contrary to the grace of God!"
His reply was a carefully veiled counter accusation of her fanatical mindset.

Eva’s brows arched, "For your own good, repent General if not just your army but for the sake of your wife Brigida and your child."

The Mother Superior tries to step around General Morelos daring him to try and restrain her, grounds to charge him in violation of church decorum. With the confined space of bed chamber José could easily block her as long as he remained alert. “You will not further harm Teresa!” He growled.

From over his shoulder Eva glared at Teresa. "Whore! See what you have done! With General Morelos resigning the Revolution is Finished! Hear me, finished! Independence was just a dream! I can forgive the General, but you are to blame for this!"

She continued her accusatory tone, "What kind of creature are you?" "What was that cube for?" “Tell me the Truth!”
“Per dei nomen adiuro vos!” She thrust her St. Horace above her head but the Holy light emanated was not as strong as before. A reprieve? The glare in her eyes subsided quickly. There was a brief after image of a winged figure at the corner of the room but no one else noticed, acknowledge, or responded to it. The Angel only nodded her head before disappearing. ”Angel of Diva? Will this finally be the end for me? ”

Teresa struggles to sit up, “Yes, I am a monster Sister Eva. The cube is of the blood of young Lambs to heal and strengthen me. Without it I will come to crave Human blood for that need. With the lack of sheep in New Spain, so I have a problem.”

The Mother Superior was shocked at her honest response. Argénta, Ana and the Nuns huddled at the door all gasped at the admission.

“What are you talking about Teresa? You still have a human side.” Morelos glances back to see Teresa becoming agitated. He faces Eva and steps closer to the Mother Superior, “Stop it Eva, you are hurting Teresa! You are giving me no choice but to…”

The Mother Superior was right in one thing, that she interfered too much with the desire of the people of New Spain. It was selfish of her to entertain the idea of meaningful relationship with a rare altruistic and charismatic leader like General Morelos, a lucky woman this wife of his she must respect. And like her previous identities over the centuries in the best of circumstances Teresa would remain youthful while he would age and eventually die. Her soul would die little by little with every friend or lover through the centuries. A painful process to live over again. Now the sacrifice of many revolutionaries will be an added burden on her soul. There must be a way out.

Teresa did not recoil at Eva's callous remark. Her mind cleared despite the debilitating pain in her chest. Teresa turned her eyes and focused on the oil lamp flame and drew from her distant past,

"How old are you my daughter of the Moon?" In the flicker of the candlelight, the Chinese Shaolin priest Jao Wing put down his teacup and straightened in his chair. "The past is often the key to the future Ping."
It was two years past since she retired as General Cold Moon of Central Asia, the end of one era and the start of a new one as prompted by the Angel that guides her.
"One hundred and fifty-one years now master." By this time, it was useless to lie about herself as her teacher was not only endowed with unique wisdom but also gifted in discerning the truth on slightest of body signals.

He pours a cup of tea and slides it over to Ping. His soft aged eyes gazed over into hers, "With indefinite time you have opportunity to learn much, but it must be terrible to see friends and lovers die. If not by age, then by sword."
Ping's hand tightened around the porcelain cup nearly crushing it, she realizes and relaxes her grip, "A poor choice as a child. I was twelve then when I was cursed."
"I see the irony Ping, but I sense that you have done plenty of good deeds too. Don't forget or diminish those my disciple."

"I am thinking that it would be better not to have loved at all and to avoid it. "
"Those that do end up callous and heartless, love and friendship keep us human and humane. From your eternal perspective the lives of others will become less significant to you and cherish life less of others and ultimately yourself. Our human short comings and short lives gives significance." He points to the courtyard cherry trees, "Look at those beautiful blooms, they are temporary and will fall in a few days but enjoy them and remember their beauty, each bloom like each life adds to this wonderful tapestry in your long life. Each representing a life unto its own, yet all together significance in your life. You will always see things as an imperfect creature in an eternal form. One day when the heavens permit, we all shall find perfection in thought, of body and in soul. There we will find those we love."

Master Jao stands up and straightens his robe and centers the candle on the table, "No Kung Fu tonight, I will teach you an effective sleep technique that you can fully rest yet be alert. Of course, it simulates death and that reminds me of a funny story about my late Master Qin....for now focus on the flame, relax ..."

José's brown eyes turned back to Teresa, “My beloved Teresa, please don’t... ”
With his back turned Eva raced around the General and sprayed an concealed vial of Holy Water across Teresa’s face before José could fully restrain her, Eva shouted as loud as she could, "Per dei nomine ego Misit vos de!”

Teresa convulses back violently onto her bed.
José wrests the vial from Eva’s grip before she could do any further damage.
Undeterred, Eva pulls off the lower extremity of her St. Horace revealing a hidden dagger blade, “Die Monster!”

Teresa... revealed!
Sad.
Is this the end?

Classic NO WIN situation, and helpless at the moment.
But what does Shaolin Master Jao have to do with this situation?
What's Sister Eva's real motives?

Part 13 in process.
This has gotten longer than I originally planned as a story arc.

Always, with Love. 🤗🌺❤️

Oh my... The Reverse of the silver 10 Peso is awesome @kerrislravenhill!! What a silver thrift store find with the .925 Cuff Bracelet!🤗
I believe Taxco Mexico is known for beautiful silver!!! Have a good week my friend!!

This coin is in great condition with wear at the high points with some evidence of cleaning but still have plenty of lustre remaining, so I estimate it to be EF+ a nice Type coin my Mexicoin/stack.

From a region with many Silver mines, I found that Taxco has a history of having a domestic Silver crafts with many older products that were Hand Crafted. What I don't know is how much of that industry is still domestic artisans or was it largely incorporated under one or more companies by now.

The donated Bracelet cost me $15 CAD eqv. to $10.50 USD for 37g of Silver!
What a Deal!
And all the funds went to operating the Salvation Army Thrift store.
Sweet, everyone wins!

Thanks for the comment @silvertop 👍

That's a fantastic deal with the bracelet @kerrislravenhill!!🤗 I don't know a lot about Taxco, I believe we have a large .925 silver plate that is marked Taxco. Nothing nicer than a good silver find, that you also can wear!!!😀

Although I have Had Mexican Silver Come and Go Through my Hands it is Always Interesting to know the Back Story Behind the Coins. @kerrislravenhill

It seemed to be the right time to show this coin in the light of the post US Election shenanigans that are going on. The Timing is perfect for this coin with Madero. Otherwise, I love this big coin, Circulated enough as to keep the premium down and still have a lot of luster remaining to be pretty. ☠️

Yo ho, my ☠️ Amigo!

That's a really nice Mexican coin!
I have a 1962 1peso coin, but it's not in as nice of condition as your 10 peso coin is.

I got a handful of those 1959-1965 1 Peso coins and they do have silver in them but only 10% silver by weight and the remaining 90% is bronze.

It gave the holder the impression of wealth having a big pile of these. Those were the years that saw Mexico converting into fiat currency as like all other countries were also doing. But still a great looking coin in higher grades.

Thanks for dropping in @amberyooper 🌿

A nice coin and a beautiful thrift store find! How awesome is that? Your writing is excellent as always @kerrislravenhill! Thanks for sharing and have a lovely week!

Thanks @elizabethbit I still check out the thrift stores but come up dry lately but I often find a nice Blouse or so to help fund and support the Thrift store, but you really never know when you would come across a great find. 💖

This is true! We have a funny story, actually two from the Bellingham Goodwill store over the past couple of years. We have walked away with quite the find twice! Take care sis!💜
