I have come to terms with the fact that I am surrounded by people who just want to make money and creating content is just a means to an end. There is nothing wrong with that, however, it is the other way around for me.

Sort:

What's your goal here?

my initial goal was to find a creative space and interact with people while making money from my social activities to cover my living expenses. I never and I still do not see this as my lucky ticket towards financial freedom.

I still think the key is reaching a point where the tokenomics are sustainable.

Once the platform is making enough revenue to outweigh the tokens being printed to pay for content, then it doesn't matter who milks.

The incentive will be there to reward value adding content and it'll take care of itself.

I am only here for the memes…

to become a household name at hive and inleo by doing nothing but being awesome. Low payout? Be more awesome! No comments? Be awesome!

Hehe they're a lot bro. When I started on the space that was me as well, but nowadays creating posts it just feels different

like I would say money is a by-product of value. If hive grows we will all be rich just for being early. There would still be opportunities to make a decent income by creating content.

I love playing the crypto game.
Powering up hive and climbing the ranks.
It's not even about the money.
Plus i do love writing as well.

We need to spread this narrative. People need to know they can get more Hive aside from just the token. They should seek those relationships that will make their experience more wholesome.

When we were writing on the Bitcoin cash network, I used to think like you are right now, but nothing last forever. That's why making money must be a top priority in this space.

that's for you because you need the money. The same applies to me to some degree but I think it is a worthless way to live--prioritising money over everything.

It isn't about prioritising money over everything, it's just the fact. Remove money from here this place will be silent

This is why most people here put out shitty posts no one reads because they are just chasing money. They cannot think above their needs and greed. That's such a primitive way to live and think.

That's another angle, but the thing I have discovered from my little time here is that the Hive system doesn't encourage reading due to the voting system.

no one should be encouraging anyone to read or consume content if it is good. Yes, I agree that engagement should be incentivised because most people don't care in the first place.

A little experience I had when I just started here. I was reading and engaging on every content on my feeds as well as voting, but someone told me to stop it that it doesn't matter if I read or not.

The mantra was " We are not writing for the money" back then on readcash, but like I said before, nothing last forever. So, make friends as much as you can, but also make money as much as you can. Never leave leave anything on the table

Do you mate. Whatever it is you fancy. Making money and creating content are not mutually exclusive.

My point: most people don't care about creative experience. They just want to earn.

Oh well, without those experience one cannot get the best of the community. Moreso, one cannot even earn the money they are looking for.

I think it is very admirable that there are people who want to bring good content weather it monetizes or not. I am not familiar with any of your work, but this caught my eye, and I thought it deserved a thank you.

not just good content but quality engagement. The platform should be engagement driven.

Indeed, I am still stunbling, learning my way around and tripping over my feet in the process!

Baby steps 🙂. I am open to answering any questions you have about the platfrom. I will answer them to the best of my knowledge or refer you to someone who knows better than I do.

Many Thanks

I want to make money and I want to make community and I want to make art and I don’t see why I can’t do all at once. If I couldn’t combine them, I’d still pursue all three separately

They are not mutually exclusive, however, the priorities are not the same hence the amount of time and effort put into the craft is different.
It is why most people post below-average content and expect to earn top-dollar
