We live in a world where transaction happens every second that passes by. You wake up, turn on the TV, and your money is already running out on electric bills. You switch to Netflix or Prime Video, and you have to pay for it to watch a movie. You need a roof over your head, and that costs money. Your belly makes a funny sound of hunger; you need money to get food. With each step or move you make, money is involved. You realize a lot about your life, and your financial strength governs your day-to-day activities.
But there is a resonating debate and conversation I have seen happen online, and it revolves around Is Money Everything? I have heard people say money is not everything, and there is more to life than just money. Then there is another quote I have also, that, before you can say money is not everything, first of all, make the money and see for yourself.
You cannot tell somebody who is looking for their daily bread that money is not everything and expect that they will accept it wholeheartedly. Or a chiling individual in the backseat of his Lexus LX570 tells you money is not everything. At that point, it is understandable if, in your mind that you say something like they can only say that because they have the money, and that is why they can tell someone who does not have it that money is not everything.
This talk has even led to talk about how money can buy happiness. Some people say no, it cannot, while others say Probably it can. Honestly, it is hard to distinguish which is right because these are conversations that are relative. Nobody is right or wrong; it is all relative, depending on the person in question. It is reasonable to believe there are moments money cannot buy. For instance, the birth of a child brings a kind of happiness it brings to the parents and the family of the baby. Now I do not know if there is a price that can be placed on that kind of joy.
And then there is the money you receive, a bank alert, a job opportunity, or promotion that comes with financial stability. You know things have taken a drastic turn for the better. Know this is another form of happiness, and if we are being true to ourselves, the money involved is what makes it happy to use. For one, I know what it can feel like to get a credit alert into an empty account of mine, especially when I was not expecting it. It can almost be synonymous with a miracle, if you know what I mean.
I guess where the talk about money not being everything originated from is in the concept that we can chase money so much because of the comfort it provides to our everyday life. So we tend to lose focus on the things that truly matter. Love, family, and our health. These three things are something I believe money cannot buy, but money can help in experiencing them on a premium level.
The talk about money being everything is relative. So I put it to you. Share your thoughts in the comment section. Is money everything? If so, why? And if not, why?
I look forward to your thoughts. We learn by sharing what we know.

I think Maslow's hierarchy of needs does a good job of explaining this. You need a foundation of safety, food, and shelter to have the energy or trust to focus on other things. Money isn't the only way to get those (I was given free places to stay for 2-3 years of my life and I've worked for food instead of money before), but it's the most reliable one. And having the landlord or taxman constantly at your throat certainly keeps us thinking about money.
I try not to think about money as much as how to get the things I want from money. Like sometimes the best way to improve your health is to take a rest which would lead to less money. If you already have the basics covered, that is sometimes the best choice.
Sometimes I imagine what I would do if my crpyto 100x'ed tomorrow, and honestly, aside from buying a house so I don't need to pay rent...I just want plane tickets, decent food and the freedom to take off from work whenever I want. And then with the rest, I'd pursue some wild business plans that would be more about creating positive change than earning lots and lots of money.
I know rich people, and the only reason I'd say their happy is that they have more freedom, those without freedom aren't happy at all.
I know that there are certain things money can't buy, just like you said, happiness, love, family or health. There are people you'll see that money is overflowing in their company, but no happiness. And then you wonder, don't these people have enough money to be happy? And then you see someone earning little, but their family is very happy and full of joy. Why is that? It's because they have what it takes to bring that price of happiness home and they know that money isn't everything. Yes I totally agree with you, we need money to solve a lot of problems and it's essential to have money to feel comfortable, whereby I can solve some issues with money and have no problem in it. but we should know that money isn't everything because it can't save our lives, love and happiness. Thanks for sharing. It's really inspiring.😊
I'd politely like to differ because it is worth noting that all these things you mentioned as an example of money not being everything, are actually achievable ONLY with money.
Recently I saw on different occasions, where an elderly lady was held hostage at a hospital for over a year. What actually happened was that her daughter birthed in that hospital and died in the process. The baby was saved but then the father was nowhere to be found and the deceased lady's mother being the elderly lady was struggling, and could barely make ends meet.
According to the story, the hospital held them captive and refused to grant both the grandmother and the child freedom until all their bills were sorted. It was the government of the state that came to their rescue, clearing all Bills and granting them freedom.
Talking about securing a dream job, these can only be achievable from investing richly in education, and it cost money. I use to always tell people, Nigeria is challenging alright, but it gets really hard if one has no solid educational background.
Notably, you raised really valid points to support your arguments of which I quite agree. But then again in the grand scheme of things money is everything because I doubt there is ever any happiness from a place of lack.
Hmm it's a tough one, actually not even tough.True money can't buy Happiness or give you love, but still we want it. With money life is easy.like so you get? With money you won't have unnecessary worries.
It is a transaction between two people and it has been in existence for a long time it is know to be use for exchange to get something in return

If I may say the truth money can't buy Happiness and love but we still need the money if we want to survive. That's why we see lot of people doing illegal things just to find money because they know money is important. Without money we can't eat, live in a comfortable place or wear nice clothes and shoes. Everything we do in this life requires money but that doesn't mean it can buy happiness or love.
We have to have workers, we don't have to have dollars.™

Here is the Truth About Money, Money won't be Anything again if We no longer Value it, which is likely not ever going to happen unless maybe something came along to change the whole situation like an apocalyptic event,
Happiness on the Other is a part of Life, a feeling that overwhelms you when pleasant things are happening to you or you experience and good things.
So we can all say that in this present time money can truly bring happiness, since money is of High value.
Money won't have been everything if we are not in this era where money is highly valued, you know anything that is been valued is always caused after, that's just it. In this era ,we find ourselves, Money answereth it all, you said something like money can't buy family, but I will put it to you that money now buys family, family now stays with you because you are their source of income, mother's now love and care for the child that gives them money than the ones that is opportune, Where does our happiness source from? being able to feed, being able to get whatever would make our life easier, who would be happy not getting what he or she wants ? all this is achieved with money, so money can buy happiness.
My point is if we haven't gotten here, This era we are, it might have been different, Money might have not been everything but in this era we find ourselves, Money is now everything
It's an interesting debate. I think it all comes down to what Money means to you. Everyone needs money to survive, or at least to have a somewhat comfortable live. But is a comfortable live the only thing you want? Or do you want to not have to worry about money for the rest of your life and what are you willing to sacriface for it? Someone might abandoned things like a social life, love, etc in order to get rich. While another person might only decide to work the bare mininium so they can enjoy as much freedom as they can.
If you ask a rich man if money is everything they'll probably tell you no, because they've never been poor and don't truly know what life is like without money.
But, if you ask a poor man if money is everything I guarentee you you'll get a different answer.
They say Money can't buy happiness , but without money you can't be happy too.
People are in tough situations and it's only money that can liberate them.
Money is necessary, it provide happiness, there's no happiness in lack.
Things only get bad, when you chase money and neglect other important aspect of life, money makes living easy, in many ways.
