RE: Content Over Container - Peter McCormacks failed wardrobe case

I apologize to you @mistakili as I mean no disrespect, but I find this picture insulting.
I am very sensitive to people from wealthy nations visiting less wealthy nations, and assuming or appearing to assume their very presence was a gift. There is a history of wealthy nations treating the people of less wealthy countries like ignorant and backwards children unworthy of respect, and then I see this…
…this picture has a bad look.

I don’t know this man or his intentions, but I find it hard to believe that as a influencer that he was oblivious to how this looks. And this man appears to be acting like an arrogant colonizer, who doesn’t have enough respect for this man, his office and this country to wear decent clothes.

I would consider it an honor and a privilege to meet with the leader of a country. I greatly doubt, that he would be allowed to meet with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom or the President of the United States dressed like that, and I wonder if he would be so inclined to dress like that in that instance.
I apologize to you @mistakili as I mean no disrespect, but this picture looks as though he has no respect.

Edits above:
I think it’s inappropriate and disrespectful. I don’t know this guy at all, but I think his message and knowledge don’t overcome a bad first impression. Appearance matters.

He went out of his way to wear ragged clothes, and I can’t say it’s all about freedom, it looks all about him focusing on himself and being disdainful of who he was meeting. He doesn’t represent me or any other community. He represents himself and I have a right to view his dress as disrespectful and distasteful, just he has a right to represent himself in this ragged fashion.

Heyyy Shorty no need to apologize please, you’re sharing your honest opinion which also correlates with that of @vlemon’s and is highly welcomed and appreciated.

From your perspective it is clearer to me why his mode of dressing doesn’t sit well,

This is actually very true

. I greatly doubt, that he would be allowed to meet with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom or the President of the United States dressed like that, and I wonder if he would be so inclined to dress like that in that instance.

I also doubt that. I didn’t think of it like this before and now I think he deserves to be cancelled, thank you for elaborating on this. 🙏🏽

He represents himself and I have a right to view his dress as disrespectful and distasteful, just he has a right to represent himself in this ragged fashion.

You certainly have a point. Lol I hear you
