If you can't have what you want, why have the money at all anyway?

I have said this in the past numerous times - HIVE, for me personally, is a form of Luxury. The reason I say this is because the amount of "money" I earn blogging on hive gives me that extra leeway to afford certain expensive luxurious shit that I would otherwise NEVER spend the money on.

I once told head-clerk (@zayedsakib - dang, feels like ages I haven't called you that) what is the point of having the money if you are not using it to buy the luxury that you really want?

I believe the exact quote I used was "If you can't have what you want, why have the money at all anyway?"

So, often times in the past, I have dipped into my earnings on HIVE to buy certain stuff which would otherwise be considered "too expensive to waste money on this shit!"

I had bought my "Dolce & Gabbanna The One EDP" with money I cashed out from HIVE and to this day it stays my most favourite fragrance of all time - yes, it is even "slightly" above La Nuit De L'homme!

I had spent quite a considerable amount of money on my new phone last year - that too thanks to the extra leeway hive provided financially. I would have never even considered spending that much money on a phone! Period.

I was pondering for the last couple of weeks whether to get Armaf's new release "Club De Nuit Untold." Well, it's not exactly new - came out last year, I just found out about it recently from a colleague. And from the second I smelt it on my friend I have wanted it. I just wasn't sure whether I would pull the plug and actually spend the money on it.

A couple of days later, when I saw I had 71 HBD collecting dust in my wallet my very own quote came back to me - "If you can't have what you want, why have the money at all anyway?" After that It took me like 5 minutes to convert the HBD to HIVE and then take it to Binance and sell on the p2p market to convert it to my local currency!

And I spent the entire amount later that day - no holding back!

I got the full intact presentation of Armaf Club de Nuit Untold!

I even got my hands on 40 ml of the 2019 batch of La Nuit de L'homme - that shit is expensive but seemed it was my lucky day. Right after I cashed out my HBD and checked how much I would have left after buying the Armaf, a super deal popped up in my local fragrance community on La Nuit de l'homme decant that would fit into my HBD budget perfectly and some more. I tried convincing the seller to sell me the bottle (I really love the bottle), but he wouldn't part with it himself. So I just bought all the decants he was willing to sell - 40 ml.

I will definitely be writing a more in detail review of Armaf Untold after I get a few more wears out of it - but I am loving it so far!

I blogged quite consistently last month and that all added up to 71 HBD liquid (half went into HP). This really incentivizes me to write more every month and whatever HBD I accumulate over the course of a month can go to buying luxury!

Because believe you me, growing a perfume collection is expensive as Fuck!

Sometimes you just have to go YOLO. You've seen my recent "fragrant investments", it's nowhere near cheap or affordable. But, the last time I got a nice "fancy" perfume for myself was back in 2018; 6 years it's been, and I never thought of getting another bottle or changing things up. Now, all of a sudden there's this urge, for which I was a bit impulsive.

Yet, I've made money, then lost all of it during COVID, and collected a lot of debt, but now I'm doing well. Alhamdulillah!

Now, why shouldn't I reward myself for all that patience and hard work?

So, I say that's 71 HBD well spent. And considering this perfume is a winter frag, it'll last at least 5 years I'd say. A good long-term "investment". 😉

What are the odds hehe! Last time I got myself a full bottle of fragrance was also around that time and since then I have only bought a few decants!

Making money, then losing money - it seems like it is a common cycle for us all eh! I get depressed at first when I lose money in trades, and then after a day or two passes we somehow figure out a way to get back up on our feet and carry the hustle!

Now, why shouldn't I reward myself for all that patience and hard work?

Bingo! We should really really be rewarding ourselves once in a while, otherwise what really is the point of all the hustling!

More like 15 considering I will be switching between 3 different ones this winter 😂

When one is earning, he or she should be able to spend on him or herself since you earn it yourself but one also should be very conscious not to overspend savings too.

Right, it is necessary to find the right balance between earning and expenses and savings.
