The Secret To Hive Success: Get Busy

in LeoFinance3 years ago

Many are looking to the "Secret Path to Success". There is a very large industry out there that is willing to sell people the "secrets" to success in anything. No matter what the topic, making money online, weight loss, relationships, or living happier, someone has a program they will sell providing those answers.

Of course, often the only reason those people are successful is because other buy their products. How often has the relationship expert ended up getting divorced? Or the financial expert ends up filing bankruptcy?

This is a situation that happens all the time.

image.png

Hive is no different. People come to this platform, looking for the "secrets" of what it takes for success. Fortunately, it is very simple; so simple anyone can follow.

The secret is: Get Busy.

That is the magic. It is how one can go from zero to hero in one easy step.

It sounds off but that is all there is to it.

Hive is based, at least in part these days, on post, comment, and upvote. This is where the starting point is. We can extend that idea out a bit more because of the introduction of gaming on the platform. Also, with NFTs, many artists are finding a revenue stream through that medium.

Nevertheless, whatever the path, which there are many, get busy. It all starts with the first comment made. In fact, comments are a sensational way to grow one's account. It is a path to gaining recognition from other community members while also starting to generate some rewards. Comments are now being upvoted, especially on some of the tribes. This is a terrific starting point.

Whatever the path, start now. If gaming is your preference, choose one and start playing. Go on the first quest or mission. Take up that first battle. Pull the virtual arm of that gaming system.

It does not matter much what it is, just do something.

Now is the ideal time to get started. In fact, it is a point where excitement should be high. The token price is down. It sounds crazy that is a cause for celebration but, if you are looking to make an impact on Hive, it is best to start when the competition is the lowest.

When token price goes down, activity follows. The reverse is also true. Thus, when people join during manias in token price, they get buried as the number of posts increase substantially.

image.png

There is another piece to the puzzle. Fortunately, there is no buying of the advanced course required.

The second "secret", if you will, to the path of success if this: Time.

Just allow time to pass. Get busy and let the sands of time flow. How simple is that? Time goes by regardless so it isn't as if we have to do anything on that end. We simply are busy on Hive while time moves along.

In other words, this is not an overnight process. Do not expect everything to happen instantly. Like anything in life, there is a building process. Each day, more progress is made which puts one a bit further ahead than the day before.

We all want the instant gratification. In the past, the idea of overnight financial windfalls were touted. This was misleading while also setting people up for extreme disappointment.

A more measured approach needs to be made. One should take ownership for what he or she is doing. There are financial aspects to this, which means one needs to have an entrepreneurial mindset. We each, effectively, are our own businesses.

There is a saying in networking groups that "Givers Get". Hive is like that also. Those who come to the platform only operating from the premise of what they can get out of it end up leaving disappointed. Behavior like that is not rewarded.

image.png

Of course, this should not be surprising. In few fields is this a path to success. How many businesses lose customers because they operate, exclusively, in their own best interest and not of their customers? That is a quick route to diminishing numbers.

Hive is a form of a cooperative. The same is true for many of the tribes. With tokenization, users become owners to a degree. Thus, the other "partners" are not real embracing of a new one coming in solely to take from the organization.

Ultimately, the success is dependent upon all of us. At the same time, each person's account will benefit as the entire platform grows. This is true whether there is 100 HIVE or 1 million in the wallet.

On here, activity can be rewarded. However, it requires a lot of it taken, consistently, over long periods of time. If one is expecting Hive to be the next "get rich quick" story of his or her life, things will not turn out well.

After all, there is a program for $49.95 one can buy that promises to deliver great wealth in 30 days. Perhaps that is a better path to instant riches.

For those who are willing to put in the effort, the rewards are here.

That is the secret.

That said, a great way to Get Busy is by leaving a comment for this article. It is a great starting point.

A great post! 'Get busy' is the most important advice for achieving success in any endeavor.

I feel a little more conflicted about the advice to just let time pass, especially since the ability to earn rewards on a post expires after 7 days. The time only works if you're continually putting in the effort.

Not that any of that matters to me. I live in NY state, so my ability to trade HIVE, or most crypto for that matter, for actual dollars is extremely limited. I seem to be a bit of an anomaly around here in that I have no real interest in the rewards, I'm simply here for the platform. I liked Facebook and YouTube, back before they bombarded me with advertisement. I never made a dime from either, and that was just fine. I make my posts to share learning, not to make money. That leads to my advice for finding success on any platform, from a guy who has neither attempted nor achieved much success on any social media platform.

If you're a creator, don't think about the money. If you're making content people want, that will come in time. Stay focused on creating what you're compelled to create, and making it as good as you possibly can. When you feel you've polished your content, then promote it. If you make quality content and put it in front of people, the rewards will come. If you're so focused on rewards that you're not making a quality product, the rewards will never materialize.

I'll just stop right there, because if I keep going, this will turn into a whole post, and I have a strict rule about keeping posts and comments separate 😆 Have fun out here, Hivers, and remember: If it was just about the money, it would have been a lot easier just to change the rules on the big platforms that already existed. It's also about the freedom to share, and to shape your online experience according to your own tastes, without having some nanny constantly guessing at what you want to see and insisting you look at their choices.

I feel a little more conflicted about the advice to just let time pass, especially since the ability to earn rewards on a post expires after 7 days. The time only works if you're continually putting in the effort.

Perhaps I did mis-write on that end. Certainly continued effort is required. I did not mean to insinuate this was a post once and let the money train flow. I apologize if that is how it reads.

Fun is a great motivator. As they say, if you do what you enjoy, you never work a day in your life.

If you're a creator, don't think about the money. If you're making content people want, that will come in time. Stay focused on creating what you're compelled to create, and making it as good as you possibly can.

This should be in the Into To Hive handbook. This nails it. Anyone writing simply for the rewards is also likely to be disappointed. If one loves the content he or she is writing about, it can flow easily. Readers are able to latch onto that.

Excellent comment even if it got bloggish. LOL

Yessir!

We've got this little saying in our tribe, we call it...Plus 1.

The idea is to be better at sunset, than you were at sunrise. And if you out there, doing things, progressing, actually taking part in this stuff...You are getting 'better'. You have plus one'd!

So little bits every day, and they start to add up!

Great way to start the morning reading this, thanks man!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The idea is to be better at sunset, than you were at sunrise.

What if one is a night owl?

Wouldn't that be minus 1 in their case?

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

ha ha ha true. hey it's always morning somewhere lol

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

In my drinking days...oh never mind.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Very funny, I just wrote a post about something similar this morning. Kind of from a different perspective. It touched on a lot of the same points. I've been going ball(s) to the wall here lately and it is starting to take its toll along with my full time job!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah a job can really get in the way of our Hive-time.

It is funny how that works out.

Your job is work (most likely), this becomes a passion.

Now if we could just get things big enough so that we are able to excel financially to cast aside that Just Over Broke.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha, yes. I am lucky that my job has me sitting at my desk most of the day so I can focus on this passion. Things would be much different with my account here if that were not the case. I have some big projects coming up that are going to take up a bit of my time, but I also get to play a part in shaping the youth of America, so I can't really complain. :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Haha, yes. I am lucky that my job has me sitting at my desk most of the day so I can focus on this passion.

I was in that position too, until they let me go.

I guess I spent too much time on my passion and not enough on my job. Oh well.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Sorry to hear that. I've been there before this job it happens...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

No reason to be sorry. It wasn't termination, it was more like parole.

The industry is dying so it was best to get out.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Ah, okay, sounds like it was for the best! Mine was an involuntary layoff.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

True, Hive unlike other projects requires proactivity on the part of users, especially if they want to earn rewards without spending their own money.

Growing up requires commitment, dedication and time. If you enter here to earn free coins ... well you got the wrong plan. Bang!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

And if you can invest a little money, it makes your work that much more profitable.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Very well written . Hive has already turned many hobbies to earning opportunity , take ACTIFIT , those people who walk daily or joggers or athletes earn from it . Photography community has been great , now STEMGeeks will keep Science people busy . Whatever we do everyday , we have the opportunity to turn that into rewards on HIVE . I have been thinking about posting about Anthropology on STEMGeeks and also about Indian Economy from next week as I have to start studying it everyday . Being busy pays off on Hive , without any doubt but being busy in life can also pay off on Hive if you find time to post about what you read / do on Hive or other communities.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Without a doubt the different applications and tribes are offering a lot. We will see how they grow over time and the impact they can make. Leofinance is obviously the first in, hopefully, a long line of opportunities for people.

Over time, we are likely to create some stars. That should be our goal. YouTube did it, now it is time for Hive to do it.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I joined Hive 4 years ago but was blind to the opportunities . I am realizing it now and will try to create better content using my knowledge . We help Hive , Hive helps us.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I joined Hive 4 years ago but was blind to the opportunities .

They were very hard to see 4 years ago and, quite frankly, have been somewhat slow in developing.

However, they are becoming clearer now. People have many choices and a number of different paths can be taken.

Over time we will see how many choose to follow this path that is being laid. I have a feeling it will be hundreds of thousands.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

True , right now my path is Leo and STEM . It is actually because you I changed my view ,I was always of the opinion HIVE rewards are primary and other tokens are bonus . You mentioned it can become other way around if we wanted and that is what I am doing right now.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah there are more than one way to grow an account. We now have options and people are pursuing them.

LEO opened some eyes when the price passed the 1:1 level with Hive.

This will not be the last one to do this.

If the price of LEO takes off (even more than it has), we could see some of the profits used to buy HIVE.

It works in reverse.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I was thinking of promoting SPORTS token on bitcointalk forum but the thing is , SPORTS doesn't have a usecase , members will just dump SPORTS for Hive bringing down its value .

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I have been on the hive block chain for two years now and what did I do....? Nothing to be sincere

I always feel like a lost soul each time I get on here but some months ago I decided to check things out again and I found leofinance which seems like a good and a perfect place for someone like me who loves to learn from other people's post but find it hard to post most times. The engaging part of this community is all it takes to bring in more user.

My plan now for the next 6months will be only to read and comment.
Just like we do in other social networks, that alone is enough and you also learn from there which is the most important part for me

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

My plan now for the next 6months will be only to read and comment.

That is a great plan. I might add read and comment, comment, comment.

I found that placing a lot of applicable comments works wonders. It will put you on people's radar, stimulate engagement, and also get you rewards.

Leofinance is a great place to do that.

Aim for 10 comments per day. That is 70 a week. You will find yourself being well received.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks for the tip
I'll try as much as possible to always meet up with the 10comment per day for the next 6 months

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Most people in my discord inbox does not want to make the first comment, they want to be spoonfed, time is something they can't afford so they just want everything to happen to them now. It's a pity, most of the people I actually support or put through are those that have shown that commitment to stay or the interest to put in time and work. There's a lot to be done but then putting out the first step is all that matters

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Most people in my discord inbox does not want to make the first comment, they want to be spoonfed, time is something they can't afford so they just want everything to happen to them now.

There is an old concept in sales that goes something like this: if someone is not interested in your product, go find someone who is. Do not waste time with those who are not interested.

I think this applies here also. If most of them do not want to comment and do what it takes to engage, then move on from them. They have little to offer you in the end anyway.

They are simply looking to suck off others. That will never work out well in the end and only weigh on you.

You are already showing your intent to offer all you can to these platforms and, in turn, hopefully are being well rewarded.

Find 10 more people like you to fill your inner circle with and forget the others.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Exactly, that's how it's going to be, growth can be infectious and having people around who have goals to grow, I think that's the people I need around me, thanks for thoughtfully replying,

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

How often has the relationship expert ended up getting divorced? Or the financial expert ends up filing bankruptcy?

Or the fortune teller get divorced.

Ultimately, the success is dependent upon all of us. At the same time, each person's account will benefit as the entire platform grows.

Unfortunately people are used to get fit quickly, lose weight quickly, get rich quickly type of ads. Those who think there are shortcuts, are prone to buy these books, ebooks, you name it. Then they find out the hard way that there are no shortcuts, there's no easy and quick way to lose weight, you need to do the work and be persistent.

Hive is also not a get rich quick place, you need to invest your time and build in order to obtain something. It's true that when the price is going down, people leave. They are not here for the long term and that shows. These are the times to grow, it has been said several times but some still don't understand.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Whatever your talent, it is a builders platform. Content creators, coders, artists, whatever...all of us have to build. There are no instant success stories.

Code takes time, comments and posts the same, art..ditto.

Yet once a following is achieved, one can grow it from there. That is the what is great about this place. Plus there is the compounding effect which is really impactful.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Whatever your talent, it is a builders platform. Content creators, coders, artists, whatever...all of us have to build.

Well said! We can all contribute in some way, therefore it's time for me to resume my translation work :)

Get to work, thanks for the magnificent advice, there is no day of God that does not want to find the 25th hour of the day to write more and comment more but as you say the time is scarce, however there is always space to make a good publication even if it is every 3 days, the inspiration is here.
The wealth courses, I have seen them success books, many formulas, the only one that has worked for me so far is hive, and my friends really say, I tell them come, I give you the bill and they say I don't have time
And those that I brought after the first article are disappointed and leave. I tell them, take advantage of the drawings of your children, your trips, your walks, your food, there is so much to write about, but well, people want to sit down without giving anything as they say. here,
I feel bad because in these days of low prices the rewards pool is very large so the piece of cake is too big to take advantage of. We are still here waiting for the future stroke of luck to gather enough to buy a house.
that's the main goal, thanks for the support.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

They will catch on at a later date and then kick themselves for not getting in earlier.

That is simply out it works.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yes we will be there to see it when they try and it will be quite late, that is my hope we are sure that we will see it and well we hope we are in a privileged situation, by the way I read that Black Rock is already promoting BTC, that is just the tip of the iceberg, hopefully we can benefit from it in 10 years we will know if not the least as I have said we will have fun in the process, thank you very much for always supporting the community.

Wow. This is a very excellent post. To Get Busy. It’s so simple thing, but it needs so much effort to be busy. Yeah, we need to work hard, but to work smart as well. Getting busy is like “don’t be lazy”.

I was having a similar thought earlier this week. I was filling out a Panda Planner. In the Motivation section, it has "Identity - what kind of person do I need to be?"

What it is trying to elicit is something similar to, "if I am going to run every morning, then I need to be a runner". In other words, I would need to become that person who does that thing. You bake to become a baker. You write to become a writer.

I was thinking this with my daughter in mind. She's studying Anthropology. If she wants to be an Anthropologist, I tell her, then she needs to start doing whatever it is they do even though she doesn't have a degree. By the time she graduates, she should have experience and be able to find work more easily. The diploma doesn't magically convert you into an Anthropologist if you don't do the work.

Similarly, with Hive, are you really a Hiver if you don't use it? Are you waiting for the price to go up to be more active? You don't magically get more rewards just because the price went up. You get rewards from activity. You get rewards from having an audience. These things take consistent time and effort. You can't part-time it. Like you said, you have to get busy.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Well said.

If you don't upvote when you have little HP, what makes you think you will do it when you have a lot more?

That is the mindset that needs to be overcome.

Great Post! Thank you for sharing!!

I have enjoyed reading this. Good luck !

That said, a great way to Get Busy is by leaving a comment for this article. It is a great starting point.

Ha, ha. Many still don't know this but I testify that it is the pure truth!

Sustained work and patience are mandatory for success in Hive. I'm approaching four years here and so I can say that I have some experience. I can say that many times I worked 10-12 hours a day (more per night) just out of the desire to be able to deliver quality posts and with as few mistakes as possible (I'm not a good English speaker, I'm not young enough to I learn easily, these are realities that make work harder for people like me) and yet perseverance and confidence can bring a certain degree of success. Of course, in accordance not only with the work done, with the time spent but also with the talent and knowledge of each one.

However, I return to the above invitation. It can start with a good comment!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is a great post and excellent read.

It's something I need to do myself. Be consistent. I left Hive for about a year and just recently came back.

I'm trying to keep my goal of at least 4 posts per week. Plus commenting as much as possible.

You have to earn the followers and post incomes.

Very nice points here of "Get Busy" and "Time" .

With Continuous play and time , I am able to make my $50 cards into more than $1000 cards.
I guess there are many splinter land's players that are earning more than $100 a week.

Hive is amazing with lot opportunities. pick one that suits our interest.

I admit that I joined the blockchain about two and a half years ago because I thought I could earn money here. Now I can say that to earn money is cool but what most changed in my life thanks to the blockchain is that I rediscovered my creativity. It has become my playground where I have fun sharing with people, creating posts, building projects. It's like when I was building worlds with legos when I was a kid. It's kind of magical and with enough imagination, there is so much that can be done...

I'm busier than ever here and I just want to build more. Just need to keep the time in check... ;-)

You forgot to add the business part of it, ..... if you are here for investing and making money passively, you can buy one of the healthy top three tribes token in Hive-engine and stake, then set good content creators on autovote, then sit back and see your money work for you.

Thanks for the reminder ;)

Me and wifey been in a rough spot for a while - so it's hard for me to be as active as I would like.

I suppose it's kind of cyclical - things will get better eventually then I will some time to think and post more.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

It took me a long time to realize that I can't create content forever and sometimes I have to engage too. And that is one reason I guess I have started commenting. It takes a lot of time to build voting power if you are starting from low. Thanks for the reminder that getting engaged with the community is the way to go. How do you recommend starting from? Any community or place where I can find other people ? a lot of people don't comment back so makes me feel like whether they want to discuss or not. What's your suggestion on interaction and engaging with community? :)

Stop waiting for things to be perfect before you get busy.

The growth here stacks you earn interest in your earnings!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I can agree with everything you wrote. I’ve been here almost from the beginning but my learning curve is a little slower.
I see this so I have to persevere more than others, be more active and not just look at financial success and then step aside if it goes slower.
However, it is also true that not all content is for everyone, especially in such a decentralized social network where everyone has the right to do what they have imagined. Therefore, it is necessary to find niches and adapt to them accordingly. Communities are therefore very important, at least from my perspective.
Undoubtedly the value of what we are doing here would increase if Hive became more globally recognizable but for now that is all we have. I say it is worthwhile and necessary to persevere. 😎

Your TITLE should be:

  • The Secret To Success On Hive: Get Busy

Because as:

  • The Secret To Hive Success: Get Busy

Implies the success of THE HIVE TECH is the topic. I thought you were going to do some forecasting for 2021 with that title.

Anyway I'll go against the grain and say... what you're actually saying is "want to receive rewards: work monkey." The commentary are all from loyalists and tragics. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Those type of users will always exist. Specially where there is MONEY.

In fact, they're likely seen your post as inspiration and a boost to their morale. Because as I said you are the Guru!

MAINSTREAM USERS however will see this post as advocating an MLM system and will not step into this system or quickly step out of it once they realise that's the game here.

So then the question becomes..

  • Who does Hive seek as the active user?

If it's the money chasers OK with starting at the bottom (and many likely staying there) then Hive is the place for that.

If it's mainstream users who want to just share their world on a Blockchain platform (and see rewards as a bonus), then the system needs major changes.

So much valuable info to use here, definitely not a get rich quick scheme but a sweet journey into crypto wealth. Wealth not only in currency form but connections, communities, and much value and fun! All it takes is time, the time you put in and if you show up consistently and daily, you will get rewarded in the end.

Seems like sound advice.
I see it as investing my time and energy into something that I believe will be beneficial in the long term. The time is now...

Funny you mentioned that being active and engaging as one of the "secrets", but I don't really see it as work. I get to know different people from different parts of the world, I get to "travel" virtually and so on...

Hive on! 💪

Get Busy.

After just over 3 years in the blockchain world, that phrase makes perfect sense to me. It has been a long, fun and enriching journey.

I hope to be able to continue here for many more years.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Have someone else tell me and read this was very inspired.

I think my friend that you should start selling your secrets hahaha. but it is very true everything you say in this publication success does not depend on magic formulas or anything if success depends on constant effort every day is to try to reinvent yourself and be better than the day before, For example if today you made 10 comments tomorrow as15 if today you made a post of 500 words tomorrow to one of 600 And that follows the same quality and the same essence that you want to convey if today you proposed to invest in 100 leo tomorrow propose to invest 200, but never give up.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

i think after the tribes and the tokens hive really went on another level. Now we got many strong and diverse communities that basically anyone can join, find what he loves and devote time and effort to make whatever he wishes to come true!

there are so many communities i wanna get involved and i lack time...

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

In other words, this is not an overnight process. Do not expect everything to happen instantly. Like anything in life, there is a building process. Each day, more progress is made which puts one a bit further ahead than the day before.

I think this is so important for nOObs to realize. This doesn't happen overnight. This is just like any other social network you're starting out on.

Social networking is about being social. You have to put yourself out there. Build up your base. Meet people. Interact with other accounts. Make friends. Find your people. That takes time. Eventually you find your people and your voice. People take notice and reap the benefits of engagement and rewards.

Great article and advice. As a Hive newbie, I definitely will follow the advice. The hardest part of getting into social media is building a reputation. It's a Daily grind.
This comment is also my start in the Hive journey:)

Stumbled upon this and I totally agree. I will be commenting more from now on, because it's not that I'm no busy enough. I'm not busy the right way. Also, time should have more perceived value to me, because I probably waste more time than the average time waster!

Indeed so motivating.
