It seems the project has been dead for around a month and is sitting on 205,921.151 liquid Hive.
The original promise of @sbdpotato and the follow up @hbdpotato was to never take anything from it and return it to the DAO when it is no longer needed.
"As custodian of this project I, @thecryptodrive, will not derive any monetary value therefrom and undertake this under my duty as Steem consensus witness and ambassador.
When the @sbdpotato funds are no longer required to support the peg, they will be sent to @steem.dao where the community can then decide what they should be used for."

I think it is safe to say it is probably best to close this project up and return the funds to the DAO. @thecryptodrive is focused on Blurt and not Hive, yet remains #35 witness.
I don't trust the funds are in good hands at this point considering the shit talking in Blurt discord about Hive and the fact it is no longer doing it's job. HBD has also been fairly stable on its own and has not needed any assistance.

LoL... That's the dude who once said people only talk to me because I upvote their comments — straight up insulting the integrity of thousands of people — then pouted about losing witness votes. "What kind of platform is this if I, as a witness, must be careful with what I say!" His words.
Eventually I forgave him for it, after being rightfully pissed off about it for quite some time. To be honest though, I wouldn't be shocked to see him pocket that money. I also love to be proven wrong.

I'm with you. But I'm not sure about the timeframe.
I would say no witness vote refresh/changes in 6 months = expiring. Or like a circle on politics. Every November is voting time and in Januar the new votes count or something like this.

I'm absolutely with a reduction in power down time. I think it's imperative for the success of the chain but can I ask why you chose 5 weeks please?
Anything less than 13 week is healthy for HIVE.
5 weeks almost equal to one month so it might be easier to convince big investors
By the way, how does the one-week power-down work out for steemit? I don't see any negative from users at the moment. But is also easy to oversee something.
2 weeks power down + witness (government) + dao votes after 4 weeks should work well + a longer lockup if people want it.
So it's a more dynamic system for everyone's needs.

From what I was just told, it broke after the hard fork. Regardless I think it is time to return it.
Can't rely on people caring. I rely on coded parameters. I am strongly in favor of vote decay. Some people just move on, die, lose their keys etc more than enough reason to add voter decay.

that would never happen if hive is reward + gov token. Some people vote one time and then use the platform for rewards or whatever.
If hive would be the gov + gas token and we have Smts it would be a different animal IMO.
