Broken HBD peg?

in LeoFinancelast month

Okay so I have been wondering why the price of Hive from internal and external market is so different.
Here

Then it has corrected to the same price for a short moment after posting my post - and is now having a lot of difference again.

It would be a good opportunity for arbitrage for traders...

And I was also wondering if Hive community is still active?
Which also seems like it is not..
Here

I don't see a lot of posts and comments.
Also not under my post asking for a quick reaction if they see it.

But now I have just noticed that the HBD peg has also been broken. Which may explain the difference in Hive price between internal and external market.
And also what makes the arbitrage more complicated. But also more profitable, as I will explain below.

I thought our decentralised stablecoin was something special
and new users by inviting traders to use it would also be quite good....

Have the stablecoin in combination with bitcoin ecosystem

I was writing about it quite some time (years) before the USA was going for their stablecoin strategy...
But the platform only focused on bloggers..

Having traders would also help the HBD peg.

Buy Hive cheap on external market, transfer on chain, sell more expensive for HBD on internal market.
Which gives you additional profit as soon as HBD reaches its peg again.
And also helps pushing it up to its peg again by more demand (by traders arbitraging).

Sadly our strength, the decentralised HBD stablecoin, has never been marketed to traders.
As I advised quite often in the past.

Here are some more stats on HBD:

Any more thoughts on this?
Have you seen any witnesses or other community members write about these issues?

Sad to see this platform in this state.....

But okay, Hive is also rewarding AI content and cashing-out since quite some years now.
While punishing true content and loyal users via downvotes and sock puppets like hivewatchers..

Yes, it seems so, its broken

Wow krass, das ging ja gut nach unten.
Mir fällt auch auf das hier irgendwie nichts mehr los ist

Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten. :)

ja müssen wir ja :)

The peg has not been at $1 reliably for years ... it has been wandering above and below for years. HBD Stabilizer catches it up as close to $1 as it can, but there is more lag when Hive is dropping quickly in price.

There is a recent article that explains the rest ... Hive has hardened to its most dedicated users, and it may well be that the whales are making out well enough that they don't want a bunch of other people. That is a probable way to explain the complete lack of marketing of the many excellent features of Hive when we have a Decentralized Hive Fund giving away millions of dollars over Hive's lifetime to accomplish so little.

Thank you for the great reply and sorry for my late reaction.

I agree and wonder if there are still possible solutions or if Hive is just doomed to fail?

And that at a time in the history of the Internet, where we really need something like Hive.

I wonder as well. What concerns me is how indifferent those at the top of Hive -- we claim we are decentralized, but no, the same people make decisions and do not consult with or consider input from the whole, and because of their massive stakes are indeed centralizing most of the power and influence to themselves -- are to the well being of the whole because reality does not match their vision of how Hive is to be used and recognized. There are plenty of people here who HATE that some people are dealing with their life needs from what they earn and not caring to wait until Hive is recognized by the "smart money" of the so-called first world, not caring to wait until some other people's "genius" in creating Hive is recognized because they need to eat and take care of their families TODAY. Meanwhile, everyone sees all that DHF money being extracted and says, "the rich don't wait on giving to their friends, so I'm not waiting either." That indeed WILL drive Hive into the ground in the end, because if the people at the top aren't going to be accountable, no one else will either.

I see both sides - but personally have only paid out ONCE when I otherwise would have died in homelessness.
Still I see the people you are referring to. And they are full of hate.

I have seen a lot of people being helped by Hive in all kind of locations.
Sadly Hive could not leverage its potential more in that direction.

It is just too many problems.

You and I are blessed that we do not CONSTANTLY live on the margin of survival. For some, Hive IS the margin. If the people full of hate do not wake up to reality and accept that the people keeping Hive alive also have the right to keep themselves alive also, then indeed, it is too many problems, because the hateful are not offering any solutions that will even get us where they think they deserve to go. Take all 4,000 Hive users. Look at the average behavior every day, and compare that with what blows out of the DHF to people that do not have life needs and have relatively little to show for Hive's good for what they are doing. There is going to be a price to pay for grinding the faces of the poor while giving constantly to the rich -- all the way out from eternity that is going to be "too many problems."

Yeah, in my opinion keeping the ninja mined stake was actually one of the biggest betrayals..

From the beginning ... but that's just the usual thing: people thought they were entitled because of their hard work, but cannot seem to see that other people also have the same human dignity. The irony: if Hive dies, that ninja mined stake is going to be worthless too. People have to learn to stop snapping at the hands that feed us all... when there are only 8,000 hands left!

Angeblich gibt es auch beim Silberpreis extreme Schwankungen zwischen den Börsen.
