The supply lines are tightening, even in our rural environment.
Lucy's staff called her earlier, to say that they couldn't buy any eggs for the shop, from their regular supplier.
Now, their supplier is around 2 miles from Lucy's shop. They have had their entire stock bought up by....someone.
They produce thousands of eggs a day. (Well, to be fair, the hens do most of the work, but you get my drift).
Our farmer friend also has zero, although he doesn't produce that many daily - they've all been bought up.
As I type, Luce is off scouting around, trying to source some eggs.
We will be fine, though - some tomatoes for some duck eggs!
My point being, is this...
We live in a semi rural area, full of egg producers and in all my years here, I've never known a shortage of eggs. It's a big part of the diet here.
Which brings to the west, and supply lines of foods.
You're fucked.
Nah, only joking. You're not fucked, but the supply lines to the big urban populations runs on a 'just in time' system.
And it's fragile beyond belief.
Hows that 'fear flu' feeling now?
Would you risk having some sniffles for food on the table, and a larder full of goodies?
Time to get over the flu fear porn, and get working again.Or Go hungry.
Don't be rabbit caught in the headlights , waiting for the government to 'allow' you to do things that they have no right telling you what not to do.
Do you feel the need to 'get permission' off a faceless someone else, to live your life?
You do know what the term 'being an adult' means, right?
You do know what Stockholm syndrome is , right?
You do know there is nothing enlightening about you acting small, right?
You do know that for decentralization to work as a reality, you have to disregard the central authority, right?
You do know the central authority will fight you to stop you being free, right?
This is not a game.
Time to stop hodling and praying, and time to start weaving and doing.
I've begun to suspect days ago that the shortages aren't just caused by hoarders and price gougers. I began suspecting the government and agents for whomever is pushing this narrative has been sending others out to buy up many of the necessities to intensify the panic. Nothing helps that better than seeing produce, eggs and many other things empty on the shelves. Of course, the lack of food will help offset the fact there has been no toilet paper to be found outside of jacked up ebay prices for awhile now. No need to wipe if you aren't putting it in your mouth. Of course, I noticed that soda and junk food sections have maintained their stock just fine. Who knew high fructose corn syrup would save the day. I picture 20 years from now experts scratching their heads at the sudden rise of diabetes and weight gains that made people last year look like the before picture for a weight loss program.
I have been think the same thing it seems like the stock is not getting to the shops like it used to do and not just empty shelves from hording.
May The Egg Be With You
Love It
I got 3 eggs , at least i think i do , somewhere inside my by storm destroyed tent . Trew rocks on it for keeping the damn thing down , lets hope i didnt hit the eggs . Seems ill be sitting this one out in the old Honda ,.. while fighter jets scream true the sky for operation defender Europa ,. witch they changed in to safe Europa . I wonder what the fuck are they saving ,... eggs ?? Is it a coincident that militairy operations suddenly crank up at the moment of lockdown ? Some wierd shit going down , smells like rotten eggs to me .
The government exercising social distancing with war games?
I guess they are , howe to move troops unseen , lock down the people .
Except from Spain and Italy , the lockdown moved across Europa with the troops .
73000 man strong , just google Operation defender Europa .
Maybe they need the eggs to make the so-called Flu-vaccine that wont really help, but the government can force everyone to get a shot, even those allergic to eggs who will die from the shot, because it was cultured in egg goo. They stopped using eggs a while back for vaccine developing or at least that was what I heard, could be back to using eggs again, This has been an eggselant post of your, I'll take my flu eggs sunny side up please. I guess there are a lot of pages on the internet for "are eggs used to make vaccines" a google search. I of course did not read a damn one of them, because I really don't care.SO I would guess that somewhere close to where you live is a huge secret factory that makes a ton of virus vaccines.
If you carry on with those kind of jokes, I'm gonna hunt you down...

Here you go read it and weep!
There was a person posting about how people in Australia were standing in line first, the earliest people to the store, then buying things by the pallet load and shipping it to China.
Toilet paper and eggs are things that you can only use so much of. (unless you are purposefully burning them) So, if they stock comes back soon , and mountains of overstock, then we just had some scared buying... but if the supply doesn't come back... something is not right here in Kansas.
But i also know that you clear off one shelf and the publicize it, then the herd of sheep graze the place clean.
Exactly.
They use eggs to make vaccines!
I live rural and would only go into town 2 times a week. Now do I need to go daily and just buy one of everything? Will that feed my family of 6?
Get a light jacket or t-shirt made that says "Welcome to Blah Blah Blah, B&B" then when people ask just point, at the shirt logo, but most will not even bat an eye if they see you in an official looking kind of B&B shirt or jacket.
Good Idea thanks. I will see what i can come up with.
Alternatively, just don't give a fuck and keep buying...
Stock up on flour and yeast. Bread goes a long way, and it's very cheap.(and easy to make. I haven't eaten store bought bread for going on two years now)
We do sourdough and yeast breads. We found a wonderful donut recipe and we are using it four our yeast bread recipe.
We also have been grinding our own flour but lately been buying some Ultra-Unifine Organic We don't have the capability for that UNIFINE product.
We just have the country living grain mill with the manual handle. I have the motor kit too but if I need to I can crank it out by hand.
Only been about 8 months for us on store bought bread,We quit buy in August of last year.
I'm glad our farmers market opens up again in a couple of weeks (it closes during the winter because of the typically cold rainy weather)... should still be "on" since it's completely open air and spread out over a larger area.
Mrs. Denmarkguy and I are both kinda excited about the alleged $1,200 "stimulus" from the guvmint, which we will post-haste turn into a couple of more raised beds for the side yard, and a load of decent topsoil. Thank you, Uncle Sam, for paying us to become less dependent on you!
I guess I'm "of an age" where you got what was available, and you made the most of that. Denmark in the 1960's and 70's had very little in the way of imported goods and foods... and if the local supple for some reason ran out, you simply "did without" until new stock arrived, or you substituted. There are a lot of "spoiled children going on 50" around these parts, I fear...
Thanks for the contribution to the "cause!"
Thanks for the contribution to the "cause!" .
No problem.
Yep, I have to agree - It's only as I get nearly as ancient as yourself, that I realize how many so called adults that are still, in fact, children (snowflakes).
