Everything I love to do on weekends is perfectly described in this photograph. Summer weekends are always very crowded for the city near the sea, a pilgrimage destination for all the neighboring cities and there is a real risk that a relaxing moment such as a dip in the sea can easily become a source of stress. When I was much younger this was of no interest to me. But today, even with a small child to manage, it's a problem.
I told you a few posts ago that I have friends who live in a villa with an adjoining swimming pool, a real fortune because we can really enjoy a nice relaxing day, without fear of having to step on the feet of others. Then the location is in the open countryside, far from the chaos of the city, surrounded only by the sound of parrots that often cross our airspace, looking for food or sticks for their ever-expanding nest. The water in the pool marks a temperature of 24 degrees, it may seem high but I guarantee you that at the first dive I did not hold back a liberating scream, also amazed because I did not expect such a strong impact.
Between two olive trees, a dangling hammock is a great inducer of relaxation and sleep. Now I'm lying here rocking and cuddling myself a bit, as I passionately write this post. The day will continue here for lunch and all afternoon. Children have a lot of fun, my son has not stopped running and diving into a small inflatable pool, together with his friend of the same age, the son of our friends. A scent of good food expands in the air and is caressing my nostrils and stimulating my stomach. Soon there will be a lavish lunch and then I will abandon myself in the arms of Orpheus for some time.
A few hints of the past Saturday
Saturday morning, at the very first light of dawn, even before the sun began its movement, I left the house for a jog. I woke up in the middle of the night and fell asleep more, better to breathe fresh air and oxygenate the brain. On the other hand, nature pays off with scenarios like in the photo, an enchantment to be enjoyed in the complete silence of the city that still sleeps soundly.
Since the beginning of the week there has been the intention to really go to sea, the weather was fair, a little wind cooled the heat, average temperature of 30 degrees. Nicolò was already pawing to go out and at 9 we were already on the beach. The sea was slightly rough, the fresh water fed by the icy groundwater, but he fearlessly wanted to always stay in the water, playing with the small stones and the sand. Obviously it is impossible to rest assured, that naughty every now and then has the habit of carrying everything he finds in his mouth, so his eyes are always aimed at him but it is really nice to see him smiling while playing with the water.
Unfortunately I had to work in the afternoon, I sincerely hoped to be able to enjoy a few hours of early exit but there was a bit of paperwork accumulation and I was busy until dinner. On the other hand, my mother-in-law delivered her home-made pizza at home, a rewarding reward more than the pay for the work done, and ended a busy and tiring day, which is why I could not help but fall asleep after a few minutes. Falling asleep peacefully, although tired but satisfied, is something that many can send us and I don't want to complain too much because I am perfectly aware that I am lucky to have everything I need in my life: love, work and food.
