This hypothetical is never an easy one. We always take for granted what we have. My wife gives zero shits about candy type stuff cuz she's blessed with a grill that's never had an issue her whole life. Myself, however, I'm a twice a year dentist visitor so I don't partake in candy type stuff and I brush my grill after every meal. Take a guy with one leg, for example, when he sees all you two-legged people walking he's: "why are they walking when they could be running?!?"

I have a buddy who's son is deaf. Brother I feel terrible for him! I dated a chick once who had some extraordinary thyroid thing going on so she couldn't taste food. I feel terrible for her.
I've never been able to fully weigh in on this debate but the point I'm trying to make, I guess, is I feel more heartbroken for the deaf guy or the chick who can't taste than I do the blind guy/chick.
