It's the weekend y'all and that means Saturday morning breakfast, somewhat of an event for me...usually revolving around bacon and eggs because bacon and eggs is an awesome breakfast!
What about you?
Comment below about your go-to favourite weekend breakfast and leave an image if you have one. I'll throw some votes around.

Two pieces of toasted rye bread with cheesy scrambled eggs for me please. Coffee too. You can keep the bacon.
I usually have a light and simple breakfast, I like to keep my figure, but I never skip breakfast like some do; I do not think that's a smart or healthy choice.

That sounds like a great breakfast, something I also like although some bacon gets added.
I used to skip breakfast a long time ago and then realised how bad it was to start the day like that, now I always eat breakfast and feel better for it.
My weekend breakfast is the same as every breakfast: a big old salad, preferably with greens or sprouts I grew myself, followed by a muffin or cookie baked by myself and one cup of very strong and very black coffee. If I must do without the salad because there are no acceptable greens available, then I have two muffins with that one cup of black coffee. Bacon, eggs and toast if someone else is gonna do the dishes.
Muffins for breakfast? Now that's decadence!
American style. I've had some sort of sweet carbohydrate every morning of my life since as far back as I can remember. Pop tarts, wonderbread toast with butter and jam, boxed cereal. All approved by government health authorities as the way to go in the mornings for younguns. Oh and with a full glass of homogenized skimmed milk. I think I had to add the sweets to get the mandatory three daily glasses of disgusting down.
A good sensible breakfast for sure. I like the home grown aspect to it. And bacon and eggs as a back up? Life's good.
What came first the chicken or the egg..?
I really don't care cuz I eat the fuck outta both of em. Oh the Irony of a chicken omelette.
But tonight it was hamburglar gravy and instant taters. Quick and easy just like me. 😳

As long as eggs are served with bacon I don't give a shit...unless it's balut, that fucken shit is no damned good at all.
Uhhhgg... Now I gotta L👀k up balut again. I remember you going back and forth with someone on here awhile back about it. But exactly what that shit is escapes me...
Is it that chicken embryo unhatched shit half formed and cooked ?
Cuz I think I intentionally put that out of my mind, forgot it on purpose like a defense mechanism to protect my culinary love of an otherwise nasty bird. A foul fowl that eats it's own shit...

Yeah man, some people eat some horrid shit.
Scrambled eggs on toast with peas, piles of greens, nutritional yeast and Irish sea moss, the breakfast of champions. Alas, no image to offer since it's half past midnight here and, surprisingly enough,I don't have a file full of photos of my breakfast:)
Mmmm...
Sssscrambled Eeeeegggssss...
But I threw up a little in my mouth at peas. I wretch when I smell em. When I was 5 ish years old I had a psycho baby sitter that made me sit at the kitchen table for hours until I peed my pants refusing to eat those nasty wretched things. One time she nearly performed a tonsillectomy with a spoon stuffing them down my throat...
Ahhhh, thanks DeeWee for that walk down my pea ridden dysfunctional memory lane. 😳🤯🤮
You're Krazzy!:)
You're Weirdy!:)
😁😁😁😁You're brilliant!
Brilliant is a bit much. I used to be fucking spectacular. But it has faded into mediocrity with a sprinkling of occasional superiority over most other nit wits...
I knew a guy who was eating peas at dinner time, did a big old laugh and ended snorting on up into his nasal passage...couldn't get the fucker out for days. All the poor bastard could smell for days was peas. We called him pea brain from that point on.
That truly would be a fate worse than death for me. 👀
Lol.
I knew you were gonna say eggs. You haven't had a day start without eggs in a very long time, no? What is it about nutritional yeast? That stuff tastes awful to me. And Irish sea moss?! Not sure what that's about. Peas every single morning? Folks sure eat funny on the isle of yours.
I have 10kg of frozen peas, nutritional yeast tastes amazing with scrambles and Irish Sea Moss is full of vitamins and minerals. I don't think you'd find peas on any other breakfast plate here though. We skip a lot of evening meals so I try to make brekkie as nourishing as possible.
Irish sea moss. Now that sounds interesting. I wonder if it's something I could get here although I suppose if I could it would be called Australia sea moss...and it'd not have a funny accent.
Google says Australian Sea moss is taking your country by storm. Obviously fake news and I'm certain it's not as wholesome as the Irish stuff anyway.
Taking Australia by storm huh? It's on Google so it must be true I suppose. Or not.
This morning I had virtually the same breakfast, minus the grass on top lol. As per usual, I am a day late and a dollar short, so there is no photo forthcoming.
Honestly, there is no better breakfast on the planet
Grass, they must think it looks goo huh?
lol it does pretty it up a lot. Did you eat it?
Nah, it usually gets flicked off the food pretty quickly; sometimes flicked off the plate and ends up in someone's hair. No one has noticed that so far so I'm all good. 😬
Probably here with some nice Puto Bumbong and other Kakanins ❤️
What's the purple things?
It's "puto bumbong", a sweet rice cake made from sticky purple yam and glutinous rice with coconut milk. You should try it sometime. ❤️
Interesting. I'm not sure we have that in Australia though.
When you visit my hometown in the Philippines, I'll introduce you to it. 🤍
Low carb focaccia with 100% hazelnut cream and organic milk with cocoa powder and a little of acacia syrup.
Legit! Nice work.
I do believe the classic bacon, eggs & toast would be my choice if I could only have one more breakfast. The bacon needs to be crisp and in a pile! LOL I don't have a photo and I will admit I am more likely to have that beloved breakfast meal at supper anymore. I don't normally keep jelly in the house, but some grape jelly or apple butter on toast for dessert would not be a bad idea either.
My normal breakfast is vanilla, triple cream yogurt with some blackberries or grape halves if I have either of those here and if not, a liberal sprinkling of nutmeg on the top. I will have a side with that if there is anything here I want, like for now, mini cranberry orange scones, 2 please, will work nicely. Sometimes no side though.
What do you squeeze the lemon on?... or is that just an attempt at a garnish?
I could find a photo of some bacon from some time past, but no full plate of bacon and eggs and toast.... although I'm sure there has been one before.
Cranberry orange scones? They sound scrumptious!
I often have vanilla yoghurt with some granola sprinkled on or even some nuts, it's easy and I get an added protein yoghurt (a low sugar one) so it keeps me going from early to mid-morning.
As for the lemon, they must have been cheap that week so a garnish...although I made good use of it and squeezed it into the eye of the kid at the next table who was making noises over about 5 decibels which, for a kid at a table next to me, is too high. ☺️
Depending on where they come from, cranberry / orange any-baked-thing is usually alright with me. I've had some muffins that were good too. Yum!
Granola is controversial.. LOL... I'm always skeptical. A good yogurt will keep you satiated for a long time, that is for sure.
What a fine use of the lemon slice you found! 😄 How clever!
One must apply child-fuckery-mitigation techniques when applicable lest children make too much noise and fuck up my chi.
I have a mug of hot milk with a teaspoon of instant coffee mixed in for breakfast every morning.
[runs away]
Seems legit, coffee breakfast always is.
Whoa, that's a very tasty breakfast. Is that from a coffee shop or did you make it yourself? Those poached eggs look perfect and the crispy bacon, oh my god, I'm so jealous. Today I am having a boring natural yogurt with oats. I usually like to have toasts like yourself, with fried or boiled eggs (poached if I have them somewhere out, my poaching skills are bad haha), sometimes guacamole or avocado, sometimes hummus. I like to have Spanish ham and some cheese with good seasoning.
It's a coffee shot breakfast, a place I go to a few times a week. It looks pretty good huh?
I like toast with hummus, avocado and scrambled or poached eggs...so tasty! Sometimes I finely chop some mint on there and sprinkle with feta cheese too. Yum!
I like your breakfast style, I think we like the same sorts of things.
I will try the mint and feta cheese next time!
Give it a crack. ✅
I have two types of breakfast, one for weekdays, the other for weekends.
On weekdays, I have breakfast immediately after showering, already at 6AM. it's always two or three slices of toasted bread, a glass of sour milk, a cup of hummus and usually 50-70 grams of some ham, chicken or turkey breast with a little butter.
On weekends, I have breakfast around 9AM (and depending on my commitments, whether I'm going out somewhere so I'm busy, or I have time to relax and be busy in the kitchen), there is also some pastry, fried or boiled eggs, hot dogs, bacon, and when I have a lot of time, I prepare French toast with ajvar (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajvar)
and young cheese.
Slices of stale bread (left over from the work week), cut into thin slices, dip in egg and fry in fat..
Ajvar is a salad made from roasted red peppers, which can be spicy or not, it depends on the taste.
It seems you've got a pretty good system. I love me a bit of French toast, good work there!
On weekends, I often have just plain black coffee and hot Pandesal. The bread tastes slightly sweet, so it was good on its own, dip it in the coffee, or experiment with different fillings. This time around, I had a version of Pandesal with cheese inside it (Cheesedesal), then I stuffed it with corned tuna.
Oh man, I've not heard of that food but it sounds pretty scrumptious!
It's a staple bread here in PH, mostly only sold in the morning. It's like a smaller version of Mexican Bolillo in terms of taste and texture.
For me, breakfast is essential. In fact, it's the only time of day when I'm really hungry. I can't do without my milk with cocoa, very little, and no sugar. I love traditional biscuits, but they shouldn't have too much sugar, and fruit, oranges, mandarins, bananas. I used to eat more bread, but I've given it up, except on rare occasions.
Your breakfast looks amazing!
I sometimes do smoothies I nmt blender...you ever done that? So good and pretty fast too.
They are super healthy and delicious, because I love fruit and vegetables! You should try them!
What a great breakfast!
Just yesterday I was talking to @lizandra about how long it's been since I've been able to have eggs for breakfast, whether fried or in an omelet, haha... I love having an omelet, toast, butter, and coffee with milk... But time constraints here prevent me from indulging those cravings.
So enjoy it for us! Hugs!
Omelette on toast with coffee...super good breakfast. I hope you get to have one soon.
Thanks! Have a great day!
!HUG
I'm staying at a hotel this weekend, so it will likely be the typical hot buffet of stuff and then the build your own omelette station.
The hotel buffet breakfast...always (usually) a winner!
This is my breakfast pap and moi moi, it a Nigeria food very delicious and healthy.
I've not heard of this. What's in it?
It made from bean, have you been to Nigeria before? Because it a popular Nigerian food.
I can't think of one single reason to go to Nigeria.
