How are you doing? How is the weather where you live? the weather where I live despite the fact that it is sunny but still cold outside, everybody are getting ready to go shopping to welcome the traditional Vietnamese New Year. Let us pray for the bad things of the previous year to pass and for the good things of the new year to come.
Did you have any fun last weekend? My family had a great time, combining work and travel. This was not a long or faraway trip; my husband had a truck that transported construction materials to the 6-star Intercontinental hotel on Son Tra Peninsula, so my daughter and I would like to accompany him.
Have you visited the Son Tra Peninsula?
The peninsula is located 8 kilometers northeast of Da Nang's city center and was regarded as a green lung and a massive windscreen for the city in stormy day. It is also a national reserve with an area of over 4000 hectares, the highest peak reaching 696 meters, and diverse flora and fauna species.
How is our journey?
We left at 1:30 and arrived in front of the 5-star InterContinental hotel at 2:30, where we were greeted by a swarm of monkeys. Oh mommy, monkey, so many monkeys, my daughter exclaimed as she saw the monkey.
This is the golden monkey with the English name Rhesus Macaque, they belongs to the rare and endangered forest animal group 2B in Vietnam. Monkeys live in groups of 10 to 15 individuals, with one male serving as the group's leader.
Golden monkeys are active throughout the day, both on the ground and in trees. Food consists primarily of fruits and seeds. Monkeys' living activities have been impacted in recent years, including the carefree feeding of monkeys and the setting of monkey traps by locals and tourists. The management board of the Son Tra peninsula tourist area advises visitors not to feed monkeys because food can contain pathogens that are harmful to monkeys. Regular feeding also causes monkeys to lose their ability to search for food, resulting in a reduction in the number of individuals.
This is a luxury resort that opened in June 2012 and has won Asia's most luxurious resort award five times in a row at the World Travel Awards. We didn't get to go inside, so we registered at the gate.
We came to a halt to photograph the beach.
My daughter had a great time all afternoon, and I promise to take her to a variety of locations so she can see a variety of interesting things outside.

Feeding monkeys doesn't do them any good - it's like many species of birds at my house, some people want to do something good but understandably the opposite. Thank you for the post! :)
