If I had to choose between cats and dogs, I would choose dogs. It's not that I dislike cats; I just can't be around them for long due to my allergies and asthma. However, I do enjoy watching photos and videos of cats. I can still be in the same room as them, but I can't pet them, which is a bit sad. :(
As for dogs... I actually used to have a phobia of dogs. I found them scary due to an experience.
When I was a 6th grader, one of our neighbors had a dog. It was an aspin (mixed breed dog in the Philippines). We share the same name, but it was known to be quite unfriendly, so it was always on a leash. One day, I went out with my cousin for an errand. While we were on our way back home from the store, we saw the dog, and it was able to escape from its leash. We were trying to walk cautiously when it started going after us. We ran as fast as we could, but my cousin wasn't able to run fast enough to escape. He was bitten by the dog, so I hurried inside our grandma's house to call an adult.
The dog died a few days later, but luckily, my cousin was able to get first aid and vaccines as soon as possible. So, he was okay. But seeing that situation made me scared of dogs, and I tend to freeze whenever I encounter one.
However, when I was in university, one of our close family friends gifted us a puppy. We happily accepted it, and I took that opportunity to get rid of my fear of dogs.

She was Arashi. I originally wanted to name her Momo because I enjoyed watching the Japanese drama Kimi wa Petto at that time. One of my favorite Japanese actors' name in that series was Momo, and he pretended to be a dog. lol However, my mom was against that name because, in our language, it sounded like the term for ghosts. haha
So, we ended up naming her Arashi (one of my favorite J-pop groups at that time).

She was such a lovable dog, but unfortunately, we weren't able to spend a long time with her because she crossed the rainbow bridge early. T_T She's always in our hearts, though. :)
My mom was especially affected when Arashi left, so one of her friends gifted her a chance to get a dog. He told us to find someone selling their puppies, and we decided to get a toy poodle. There were around six puppies, and my mom was interested in getting the cream-colored female one. However, during the meet-up, a male puppy with darker fur approached me first. It was as if he chose us and not the other way around. There was a connection! And so, we got him. :)

This was Arashi (yes, we named him Arashi, too) when he was still a tiny puppy. My father made him a crib... haha He's so cute! <3

He's turning 11 years old this month. He's as cute as ever... He's a baby forever, although I sometimes call him "Gamps" because of his age. haha
He's very playful and affectionate. He comforts us, especially when he feels that we're sad or sick. He's a great stress reliever, although at times, he's also a source of stress. lol We love him despite that, though.
And just this year... we got ourselves another dog. He's a rescue dog named Max.
When he arrived at our house earlier this year, he was just skin and bones. His owner could no longer take care of him, so he gave Max to our neighbor. However, our neighbor was already taking care of a lot of dogs, so they asked us if we'd be willing to take him in, and immediately, we agreed.
Now, more than three months later, Max is of normal weight and is a very happy dog. He loves playing and cuddles. Despite his size, he's still turning two years old this July.
Arashi and Max are our joy. They make our house more fun and lively. My mom @arashi0416 often posts updates about them, so if you're interested to know more about our fur babies, feel free to visit her blog.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/
I love dogs. In fact, they're the only pet I've ever had. To date, there have been three. The first one accompanied me for 13 years, the second one for nine, and this last one is going on six, and I think for the first time I'm going to have grandchildren... hahaha... I'm really happy. Your furry friends are beautiful and you can tell they're friendly and good. I'll visit your mom to learn about them. I also like posting about mine, and I plan to do so again on Monday. Nice to read you again. 🌻🌞🌻🌞🌻🌞🌻
Wow... It's great to know that. They're amazing companions! Will be checking that then. Have a good one and let's continue to spend amazing times with our fur babies... 🐕🐩💙✨
