Land Tool Update – Alerts & Collection View

in PRAETORIAlast month (edited)

BAM!, we’re back with another land update!
This one is a mix of community requests and a feature I really wanted myself.

And quick side note — this weekend I treated myself to a GitHub Copilot Premium subscription.
I’ve been using AI (ChatGPT) to learn Next.js (the framework I chose for this tool), but man… having Copilot right inside the project is a total game changer. No more copy-paste examples — it just flows. Honestly, I wish I had done this earlier. Lets see if its worth the money in the long run 😁

Anyway, let’s dive into the update.

🛎️ Alerts

This one came up after a DM from @warrentrx , who asked for an alert/warning system so landowners could quickly spot issues needing attention. I had also been thinking the same — especially for negative boost cards.

So here’s what I added:

At the top of the Player Overview, there’s now an Alerts Section.

Heads up: it can take a bit longer to load since it runs extra Splinterlands API calls.

The alert buttons show:

  • Finished / Full → Construction is done, or storage has reached 100% capacity.

image.png

  • Assigned Workers → Plots with workers, but fewer than 5.

image.png

  • No Workers → Plots without any workers at all.

image.png

  • Negative Boost → Cards placed on the “wrong” terrain (total waste imho — fix these asap).

image.png

  • Zero Boost → Non-neutral cards placed where they don’t get a terrain boost. Consider moving them.

image.png

  • Zero Neutral → All neutral cards in use. Not always bad, but worth checking if they could be swapped for boosted units.

📊 Collection Screen

The second big update comes from a discussion with @cryptkeeper17.
We talked about the ratio between Base PP and staked DEC needed, which helps spot cards that give good PP for low DEC.

So I built a new Collection View.

image.png

Here you’ll see your card collection with:

  • Base PP
  • Set
  • Rarity
  • Count (how many you have of that specific card and bcx)
  • PP/DEC ratio → the higher the number, the better the efficiency

image.png

You can sort most columns, and filters are in place so you can narrow down searches.

If you want to see the cards that are not on the land and not in a set and not on the wagons so these cads could be used on land.
image.png

Note: This "In Set" is an important one because it lets you build a playing deck with the cards you don’t want to assign to land.

You can create and manage the set directly inside Splinterlands.

@cryptkeeper17 – does this line up with what you had in mind? Or did I miss the mark? Let me know.

⚠️ Final Note

Still just a fun hobby project — built during late-night, caffeine-fueled coding sessions.
If something breaks… ping me. I’ll fix it. Eventually. 😂

That’s it for this week! I really hope this update helps both new and veteran land owners make smarter decisions about boosted cards and land efficiency.

Looking forward to playing around with the new settings. Thanks1

An edge case that I would like to see would be to have castles and keeps in the planning tool so that we could see the effect on taxes or potential income (based on history?) and totem fragment chances by changing totems/titles, cards etc.

Hi @gillianpearce,

its an edge case indeed there are only 150 Castles/Keeps. But that said its interesting. I can do a estimated resource income on last day regional information. not sure on the totem fragments, if the calculations are updated after 1.5.

i will put it on the wish list :)

Thank you! I didn't realise there were so few Keeps and Castles. 😁
The totem fragments are definitely different since 1.5 since you now only get them form Keeps, Castles and Research. I'm not so interested in those anyway since I very rarely get one.
I'm am interested to see whether it's worth having the high PP cards on Castles and Keeps though. Or whether they would be better off on different plots.
It's difficult to play around with the figures since you have to pay a set fee to harvest them which basically means I have an hour every 6 days to play around live.

To calculate the capture rate should not be hard task. It's the part to calculate / estimate the resources you will likely to harvest that is more difficult.

But when I have time I will give it a try.

Ooooo. That's exciting. Thank you! It will be really interesting to see just how much difference higher PP cards make and whether or not it's worth it.

Sorry i see in missed a 0. There will be 1500 castles/keeps in total

150k plots and every region (1000 plots) 9 keeps and 1 castle.

And then there are user with 2 tracks owning already 20

519 unique castle/keep owners at the moment

Awesome, great job! It's getting closer and closer to my dream calculator... With every step, the total amount of work will be less, and one day you'll get to fetching those prices, too 😜 Would be so cool to not have to update that sheet anymore!

Thanks @beelzael,

Would be so cool to not have to update that sheet anymore!

I know maintaining stuff is a burden, do not forget i also have to maintain the code i create 🤣. But it on the wish list 😁

Will try this out. Been using barontoolbox for land and it's helpful
Maybe the combination will do better

Thanks @day1001,

Let me know if you have things that you like more at barontoolbox and why...

Unfortunately that is not update and maintained anymore, else i probably would not have started this 😁.

Yes after land 2.0 it's not updated anymore. Excited to check your project any time soon.

Just tried your project and it's far better and very impressive especially the notification when a land is ready for harvest. Thanks for this!
