It was a very sunny day that invited sailing in the sea. The sun was shining so much that it seemed that you were looking like in a mirage, the white clouds with their beautiful abstract shapes joined the party on the beach.

The Patrick family took their sailboat and hoisting the sails they let themselves be carried away by the gently blowing wind.

They began the tour aimlessly, they just wanted to take a look at the reefs they could see from the bay. From that moment they could see fish sailing alongside the boat with them, of all sizes and many colors. It was a party to which everyone in the sea was invited.

The Patrick family, made up of Mr. Peter, Mrs. Anne and the 5-year-old boy Erick, were ecstatic with everything they saw in the sea and although the sun burned their skin, the party was exciting.

Suddenly, in front of them came a great black cloud that seemed to want to overwhelm them. They don't know where it came from because everything looked clear when they left.

The closer the cloud got, the more waves were made and made them jump hugely into the sea. The woman took the boy Erick and tied him to her body with a rope that was on the sailboat. Fear began to take over everyone.

One of the waves hit the small boat and it collapsed, everyone was inside the angry sea. Anne tried to get out of the depth quickly, she thought of her son who should come out to breathe.

The boy was fine, he had been able to bear not breathing for a long time that they were under the water. Anne couldn't see her husband Peter, when suddenly to her right she saw something that looked like a floating body. He called to see if he was listening, but Peter was passed out, Anne would have to swim with her son on her back to where Peter was.

Anne made a superhuman effort to get to Peter and take care not to drown Erick, but she thought that she was the only one who could do something to keep her family alive.

Upon arrival, he hit Peter to make him come back to himself and he succeeded, a blow had made him lose consciousness but nothing more than that happened, the three hugged and Erick laughed because he thought they were just playing in the sea .

At one point and without thinking, a Coast Guard boat arrived, they are very vigilant in case these accidents happen. Anne thanked the Coast Guard for saving their lives and for getting to the scene so quickly. They congratulated her for her courage in protecting her family.

That would be an extremely frightening experience! How lucky for that family that the coast guard was not far and rescued them after they lost their boat in the storm. I enjoyed your story, @isabelpena.

Thank you dear @jayna.

Thank you for sharing your suspenseful story in The Ink Well, @isabelpena. The mother is very strong, and makes a great central character. Nicely done.

Very interesting adventure @isabelpena . Very real. Short and concise story. Thanks to the coast guard the family was saved. Otherwise who knows.....

That is true friend. Thanks for commenting my blog.

Some sound images crafted this week - the angry sea, the dark cloud - would love to see you develop your descriptions here to make the story far more visual in nature. The plotlines were solid though, perhaps a bit brief to capture the fullness of the experience.
