Don't go looking at me just to know what you think, but I see that on your side that material life is the same as mine, but inside you there is something that is shining and that I cannot discover in me. I only see that my reflection shows a smile when I am serious. I perceive you as someone who has succeeded, self-confident, a successful and self-made person, a person of integrity who knows what he wants, knows how to desire what he aspires to have.
But I, on the other hand, am torn between action and passion, between a dull and mediocre life, many goals recede when I sit and look at the floor, or at the ceiling when I am lying down. Everything hangs on one word, the only one I left in oblivion far away from here, in that ephemeral trip that I doubt was real. But those sensations, those moments, are present in my mind that I still dare to think that I can be like you, my dear and beloved crystal antagonist.
I only lack the rope to hold on to, just a thread to hang from the sky and make me look up where I can see you, because I still feel you here present every day of my life, because I still think that at some point a hand will lead me to you.
And that is why I am going to break this glass that divides us, that hierarchizes us and judges us. I will open my eyes without looking back to know what I was and what I could have been, and without limits I will be the person you dreamed of being, the one you searched for so long, the one I am now.

Do you know the multiverse theory? That there are infinite number of universes, that a new one is made with every decision that changes how things turn out, so there are different versions of us who went down different paths in a number of different versions of reality? That's what this post made me think of. Very eloquent. :)

In the span of a few paragraphs, readers are given a brief glimpse into the struggle (struggles) of this narrator. Yet, that glimpse encompasses a past, a present and an expectation of a future.
Your language is effective and symbolic:
In a sense, you have provided a beginning, a middle and an end. Although, where this will truly end is still a puzzle.

It's a bit complex when you try to make the reader see an alternate reality and at the same time, the alter ego of a character. Because he doesn't know how the story will turn out. At first he wanted someone to look in the mirror and insult his reflection. And then breaking the mirror, hurting himself, until he realizes that it was all part of his imagination. But this came out.

Hello @pavanjr, The concept of a shadow existence has appeared as a theme in literature for centuries. There's even a vocabulary to describe the idea of an alternate, mirror reality: Déjà vu and Doppelgänger, for example. Quantum physics has given us another term to describe this alternate reality: parallel universe.
In your story you effectively use the device of a mirror on which the narrator can focus his obsession with unreality, or dual reality. Of course, we don't know if there is an actual mirror, a symbolic mirror or an imagined mirror. It doesn't matter, because the narrator feels compelled to break through. When you write these lines
We understand there will be some kind of cataclysm. Whether this will be an actual breaking of glass or a psychological rupture, the act will have a dramatic effect on the course of the narrator's life.
Your story is an interesting exploration of an existential dilemma.
