Mortal Judgement first-look tier rankings War Part 6 of 7

Tiers Explained:

S-Tier
This tier is reserved for the top cards for a specific archetype these are the cards you build your decks around and this tier is only going to be reserved for a select few for each domain. To make it to S Tier you have to be elite.

A-Tier
Good cards that will see some play in some decks. Not an auto-include in their archetype like the S-Tier cards but something worth considering whenever exploring a deck build related to this archetype.

B-Tier
This tier will mostly consist of cards barely missing the cut in top tier decks. Some of these cards can be extremely situational and be used in hard-counter tournament situations. Also, these can be extreme niche meta plays as well. Typically, these will not be meta for long and one or two of these cards in your list could be considered good "off meta" plays however if your deck consists primarily of these you likely won't have much success.

C-Tier
These are cards top players wont play however they are not the worst in the game. A buff or two can make these cards appear in decks. Weaker players will often include these cards but the more of these you include the harder it is to become a top player.

D-Tier
This card is not playable for anyone trying to win a Gods Unchained game. Newer players may play these without fully understanding the game. In current form no good player will ever consider these cards. All of these cards are prime candidates to get buffed during the balance phase.

Single Combat is big for War: it gives you a way to attack ordered and backline creatures, but it isn't terrible even if there aren't any (e.g. go face then make trade). The optional buff is nice if you have mana to spare or if that makes for a really strong trade.

Also, it seems clear they are trying to make Enrage relevant again. I don't know if they've succeeded, but Commander Pyros + all these new creatures that benefit from taking ping damage could be decent. I ran into a mirror match where Villibesti and I were both playing enrage. Was fun. He played the neutral 4/7 twin strike that takes lots of damage. Great idea. The cards are there, and who knows what could happen after some balance passes?

I think people will certainly experiment and should experiment, but I am skeptical on long term Enrage war being a thing. I think out of all the domains war is getting the least this expansion (maybe Nature in a similar boat). I think Death, Deception, Light and Magic all received new spicy decks that could all be top tier lists.

I definitely agree that War has been left out in the cold.
