Hello, they call me Betty, but this is not my real name. I am so cautious about my personal data since I got hijacked and lost lots of money from my bank account a few years ago.
I will share with you some information for me. I am 36 years old living around London, in a small town with lots of factories. I worked in the last one for over 3 years but I got COVID and I had to quit that job because I couldn't meet the requirements for working there.
I've found this network from Google searching for additional income since I lost my job. I live in the UK and here the things are getting a little bit harder for everybody.
I am a self-taught copywriter, I've written some stuff for a couple of blogs but it is hard when you are not noticed and with a low reputation because no one knows you.
I am looking for new opportunities. I see that here I could achieve more than the websites where I apply for content writing.
@traciyork gave me some good recommendations that I will totally follow. She gave me the giftgiver website where I got something for free like delegation to be able to publish my content.

Yeah, I bought into the whole, "if you're an author, you should make all your social media accounts match your real name" thing that was going around.... ten years ago? Now it's a bit too late to stuff the proverbial cat back in the bag. And a while back, I considered powering down & starting fresh with a more anonymous account, but.. 🤷♀

Sorry to hear of your troubles with Covid and losing your job. I consider myself very lucky that I've so far managed to escape the virus and managed to keep working, but I know plenty of people that didn't.

Do you know yet what kind of things you would like to write about on Hive?
My top piece of starter advice is - don't be scared to ask questions on Hive - I just joined 5 weeks ago and people are super super helpful!

I think for suggestions I would look to whatever you are passionate about, which only you can answer. For me that's making electronic music with modular suynthesizers (which is admittedly is pretty niche!)
But I'm also really interested in people's journey and back story - for example how they got to where they are and where they are going, (on hive and in terms of career, creative output, lifestyle etc) - I find that backstory and insight into people's goals interesting. I will almost always read posts like that because I think most people who are dedicated enough to take the time to write about those things have something interesting to tell and there is often something that I can learn from in terms of their attitude or process.
